11:26 I know I mentioned something similar in the Sydney Sweeney Video, but I don’t understand why parents don’t pay attention to rating systems. Especially for video games. Unlike music and movies which are primarily streaming now, lots of video games like GTA need to be bought physically or on a service like steam. It’s up to parents at that point. There are 100s of review sites like common sense media. They can’t just act like well the game was played by my kids’ friends, so I didn’t know any better.
@MythicSuns8 ай бұрын
Basically they're the kind of parents who don't believe they should be responsible for the actions of their own children and would rather shift the blame onto anyone else they can find. Say what you will about the pearl clutchers that cried "satan" when Elvis Presley started shaking his hips but at least they could fall back on the excuse that they didn't know what to expect whilst the idiots who cry up a storm with every new GTA release are literally given two warnings: the first being that it's a GTA game (fuck knows why they expect child friendly content from a series that has never been child friendly in the 27 years it has been on the market), and the second being the age rating label that is thrown onto the marketing of the game and the game itself. Ironically though, they're less likely to complain to Ford if a kid hotwires a Ford car and takes it for a joyride.
@Nerobyrne8 ай бұрын
Parents like that probably also acted confused when they had a child after doing the deed without protection.
@notbot26488 ай бұрын
At this point there's no excuse. There was *maybe* an argument to be made when I was growing up because my parents didn't play video games. They were still new enough and it was enough of a niche thing that most older folks had no experience with them and so they believed the advertising and such, they had it in their heads that games were specifically for children. At this point, though, it's rarer to find an adult who has no experience with video games whatsoever and we've all seen plenty of adverts for games running the age gamut. We know that there are games meant for older audiences just like there are movies and TV shows not meant for kids, but now people with stupid agendas are pretending like we don't know that and insisting that games are squarely only for children again. We've been over this again and again. It infuriates me.

Gal Gadot is actually from Israel. She grew up there and has family living there. Her take will be very biased. She was educated in Israel and therefore was taught a biased if not totally propaganda-filled history of the conflict. On a more basic level, it’s nearly impossible for any person to keep a neutral view against people who threaten their loved ones. Her opinion isn’t what you should base your opinion on. But that doesn’t mean she is out of her lane for having an opinion on the subject.

@nikibronson1338 ай бұрын
100% agree with you on the Israel-Hamas take…the XQc impersonation was HILARIOUS…but I feel like there’s a dynamic that isn’t being talked about. The public for some reason demands people who are celebrities to choose a side. Not saying that having a stance or a position on certain issues in the world as a public figure isn’t important, or if something is so blatant like a genocide you should probably just be able to easily answer that you’re against it, but as someone that is getting their masters right now in the field of international conflict where my literal frame of study is looking at complex geopolitical topics it silly to expect because someone is famous they should somehow have a more elevated opinion. Everyone on my campus pretty much holds the belief that you have to stand against the genocide happening in Palestine (which is the opinion I hold). However, at the same time I can recognize that “lead actor from the show you like to watch every Thursday during fall” may not be the most educated person to be able to speak on the topic. However, people treat celebrities as if they all have to use their platform to speak out on every single issue. Do we forget that they are normal human beings just like you and I, invested in their own life and career and daily happenings and can only balance so much news media and information at one time. Unless the issue is deeply personal to them or they have an interest in it, they may not have an opinion on it because they simply may not know that much about it! Does the person demanding a celeb to speak realize that THEY find that issue important? What about the genocide happening in the Congo right now or Myanmar or human rights abuses or wars happening elsewhere? People are very selective I just woke up so I’m not the most articulate right now but I know this, I rather a celebrity that doesn’t know anything about the topic keep their mouth shut and be a normal citizen and watch everything play out. Maybe they have their own opinions but they keep it to themselves, unless they feel very strongly to become a public advocate for an issue (or let’s be real post some random vague “stand with” message on social media). Of course I know there are arguments about awareness and the responsibility of those elevated to higher public platforms but that’s not the point I’m trying to make here. People seem to want celebs and influencers being pressured into saying something stupid when they probably don’t know anything about it. TLDR: Overall it’s a very complex topic but I don’t feel like people who are celebrities should be compelled to speak on something when we know they’re probably not more educated than average citizens. ------ Edit: I went back through and fixed a lot of typos. I use speech to text, didn’t proofread, wrote this when I woke up. This was the first video I saw so it was a quite a bit of word mush but hopefully it makes more sense now.

I disagree with that; what makes Gaza so exceptional is that the enthusiastic support from both the USA and the EU is what finances and ultimately enables those atrocities, so if you are a citizen of those countries, I do believe you have a civic responsibility to stand against what's happening. Saying that a matter is complex is really just a cop-out to avoid actually engaging with it in my view, especially in a case like this one where the basic moral question of whether or not it is justified to expel millions of people, lay waste to their homes, and intentionally target innocent civilians is actually very, very simple. I wish we didn't live in a society where the words of random celebrities are treated as gospel, but we do, so if even one clueless fan of one of these celebrities becomes aware of what's going on, then I think it was worth it for them to make that social media post. If you don't think you know enough about something to provide insight into it, then just share the work of people who do; even people who don't read for shit should be able to watch a Norman Finkelstein video and share it around if they feel it speaks to them.

Yeah somehow just not on my radar. I was kind of trying to ignore a lot of these "children making bad songs and then everyone dunking on them" things after "Friday" and then the "Hot Problems" video.

2:47 You say "or Wonder Woman actresses" but, I mean, at least Gal Gadot is Israeli. So while I still don't need her (probably predictably biased) take, I'd be more inclined to listen to her than any other celebrity.

He wants to support the brown people so bad but Buckley also knows Jews are the ultimate victim so he can't criticise them too much ... This is the real reason he doesn't speak on this btw, the way he slanders whites ...he clearly had no problem saying racist stuff ...so ...no morals .... So why can't he speak on it ? Public relations ...pure and simple ... A dose of corporate

Ah now. To be fair to Gal Gadot on the Israel/Palestine conflict, she's Israeli and was in the Israeli military for a short time in her teen years. She's 100% qualified to loudly support her side and generally make everything worse for everyone.

This might be a Bearstein situation but i SWEAR you did a video on Lil Tay years ago.The only reason i know she exists is because i saw her on your channel.

Must have been another rant comedian or "commentary" channel. I had no idea who she was until last year.

Regarding the Israel v. Palestine, I think that Gal Gadot has a right to voice her opinion on the matter, not because she’s a Hollywood actress, but because she’s an Israeli national, who grew up in Israel and who served in the Israeli military
@GBfanatic158 ай бұрын
the only thing I will say is that Gal Gadot served in the Israeli army at one point...so like she's DEFINITELY biased

11:21 where the fuck was this guy when Roland Emmerich was promoting the pseudohistoric and pseudoscientific idea that the world was going to end in 2012? I know drugs are a more direct problem but 2012 had a 12 age rating and a title that a quick google search at the time would lead to the first doomsday article or forum thread posted either by Roland's PR team or some paranoid guy with an internet connection. Yeah it wasn't widely believed by people with common sense (which sadly didn't include me as much as it should've done) but when you're 12 or at least near 12 common sense is even less of a guarantee than when you're an adult (mind you, I was 16 when I first heard the theory).

Gal Gadot was born in Israel. So that comment about Wonder Woman actress doesn't fit. She's from the area and has a personal history there.

9:37 To be fair, "The Max Rebo Secret Sith Show" sounds frikkin sweet. It sounds so good I might even be tempted to install UTorrent to steal it. But let me be clear. I'm talking about "The Max Rebo Secret Sith Show." I would have no interest in watching a show called "Max Rebo" in which he was RetConned as a secret Sith. Two very different shows.
