Its an educational channel with surgery footage. Often they say and show warnings before showing any gore and its not fair to intervene on content that is posted for learning.

I think this idea of bringing in mainstream stars is a bad idea, KZbin has always been a platform for up and coming creators, people nobody has ever heard of but who have the opportunity to make a name for themselves by producing content that speaks directly to their audience. One of the reasons we love KZbin is because so many of the creators are just common people, like us. With the inclusion of A list prime time superstars, however, we put all of that in danger. How does the newly arrived creator who wants to make a talk show series, for example, compete with someone like Ellen Degeneres? How do they not have their channel and dreams squashed by the fact that no one is going to choose them over Ryan Seacrest? I feel like this is a betrayal of everything KZbin stands for (stood for).

I am sorry if I seem harsh but after what those kids have been through I a) don't believe that those two people who were not acting properly as parents but as immature bullies deserve to have kids under their care unless some intense rehabilitation and deep realisations are met... and b) am very glad the mother got to have some kind of contact and reconnect with her kids. @AFINO that scares me too, but the on-demand culture is here to stay. I watch alot of Gaming content and I don't see Cable Tv stepping into that world. The next generation, Generation Z, are super into video game culture so it will take alot to make them watch bullshit shows made by NBC and ABC. Sometimes I don't understand why YT (read Google) wants to choke off youtubers in favor of advertising dollars. I still find it a bit hurtful that here they are apologizing to companies at a huge event, but youtube has almost never apologized for all the times they've screwed over creators. False DMCAs, demonetizing videos without telling creators, deleting channels for seemingly no reason, and the complete disenfranchisement of the lipsync and animation communities over the years. The only time I can think of where youtube apologized to creators was with the LGBT safe mode issue. And while that's a step in the right direction, it sends a strange message that the second they did something to upset companies they jump up and apologize while it took them years to ever acknowledge any wrongdoing to the creators who deliver the ads to the viewers. Nice speech by the CEO though. Kinda odd that they're encouraging celebrity shows when we've already been thoroughly invaded by VEVO.

I'm so proud of you Phil. I was a watcher from WAAAAAY back in the beginning, when I was a preteen probably (I'm 21 now) and I haven't watched in years. My idea for a better advertising system would be this: Channel creators can choose from a number of tags when uploading a video which show the genre(s) their video falls under, whether it contains controversial content, and more importantly what the recommended age group of the audience would be. Additionally, they can set a base setting for their channel to apply this rating system to their previously existing videos as well as have a default setting for future videos so they don't have to manually set the tags every time, however if the content of the video is different from their typical content they can add or remove tags as necessary. (creators can adjust the settings for existing videos in the future when they feel like they need to make a change to the tags) Then advertisers can pick which tags and age groups they want their ads to appear on videos where they are comfortable with the content of the video their ads are appearing alongside as well as make sure that the advertiser's intended target audience sees it (I.E. Health products will appear on exercise videos, horror movies will play trailers on horror videos, and toys and kid's products appear on toy and children channels. This can also make it easier for they KZbin kids app and restricted mode to better filter out what you see. Restricted mode can then be full restricted mode or only restrict particular genres, content, or recommend age groups. This system allows for content creators to feel more free to create the content they want by self tagging themselves, and advertisers can be more assured that their ads are appearing where they want them to. Of course you're always going to have people who falsely tag their videos for a variety of reasons, and it's up to KZbin and the community to weed out these false tags and make sure the system is being used appropriately. This is just my person idea for a potential system, and whether or not this hypothetical system would work or even how well it would work is unknown. Additionally, I don't know how difficult it would be to implement and maintain this kind of system, as well as how difficult it would be to monitor it and make sure everything is being used appropriately. Who knows, maybe this would work, maybe it wouldn't. It's just one idea among many.

Hey Phil! I've never suggested a topic before and not sure if this is how it works. But I was browsing some social media and came across a story of a death of a fraternity brother at Penn State. Multiple and numerous charges have been made and it's a topic that hits close to home for me as I am a local college student in New Jersey who know a few people attending Penn State. Not sure what it is I would like to hear from you on this topic but I think it's important to spread some insight on hazing. And hopefully a story like this can really change the minds of those stereotypical frat bros and impact like people on the dangers of underage drinking (or heavy drinking in general)

I'm not entirely sure why this is AS unpopular of an opinion, but somehow it is... I'm actually a child pornography survivor. There are thousands of images and videos of me online I'll never be able to retrieve. I'm fine with what the FBI did here. Most of those horrible people are on multiple sites, and have their own private stashes - so it's not as if leaving the site up allowed them to keep seeing images of something they wouldn't be able to otherwise. ...or that those children were allowed to be violated MORE. (Violated once, or by thousands, it all feels the same.) Any way to catch more of them is fine by me. Though, I'm still only cautiously optimistic since the FBI is well known to allow some of this to continue....or even sometimes facilitate it. But my HOPE is that this seems it could've been a branch of the FBI that *actually* wanted to do some good and help children overall (even if that was just by catching some disgusting humans). I'd be perfectly happy if this technology was used more and more and know that it is in other scenarios. I know my area created a unit to do similar things due to the large child exploitation rings here, and I _believe_ there were a few in my area arrested bc of this technology. Cannot be sure, but it's probable, and I'm grateful.

Basically Venezuela is beginning to push against the socialism that has turned the country on its head. ( why a lot of people didn't vote for Bernie Sanders) People are going out to fight the government forces that basically stopped importing food and other resources. Their economy has completely tanked and its a free for all. Their economy relied on oil sales and no one is buying anymore because there is a massive influx of it. ( high supply, but no demand) This is not their only problem, but one of many.

I'm very disappointed in KZbin. I'm trying to be understanding due to the fact that they were bleeding out a lot of money, but they're essentially taking away creativity and freedom of speech. A lot of the videos that aren't being monetized are tame, but they cover 'sensitive' topics, or are just odd. Part of the freedom of KZbin was making obscene, creative videos that wouldn't make it on regular TV, or having people discuss usually untouched topics with large audiences, and now they're pushing those people and that content I originally came for out.

This sums up my feelings exactly. "Family friendly" content is beyond boring for me since I don't enjoy watching the Zoella's of KZbin continually discuss their makeup/scrap booking projects. My favorite creators make me laugh with jokes that are a little offensive and involve high levels of sarcasm. One of my favorite creators recently made a "What's in my closet" type of video and I watched it because I wanted to be supportive during a rough patch but I was secretly cringing inside since I knew that wasn't the kind of content they wanted to release nor the type of content I wanted to watch.

OK so lets follow the money. Creators get paid by KZbin. KZbin gets paid by advertisers. Advertisers get paid by selling products to consumers. Consumers come to KZbin for the creator's content. They haven't thought this through have they? KZbin has the views they do because of the content creators have produced. Why would you want to change that? Advertisers need to remember the reason they came to KZbin to advertise was to capture an audience with certain sensibilities. If those sensibilities push those consumers to watch KZbin content then what the hell makes them think they need to change KZbin or that they won't lose the audience by doing so?

Some of my videos getting unmonitized that have nothing that could possibly be not advertiser friendly. There was a video where I was eating a hot pocket and talking about my day and it got unmonitized. I used to make enough on KZbin to get a check every month that really helped and now I make such a small amount it's ridiculous.
