Hey Alexa! Just wanted to say thank you for motivating me to start a channel, you even gave me some advice you saw as a gap within the veteran space. Well I got my first “thank you for saving my husband” last night making it all worth it already. I guess he was going through a rough time and needed to hear he wasn’t alone from another vet that was going through it too. Keep up the content because you’re helping in much bigger ways than you think ❤

@@WedoweeHandyman I know you were meaning Alexa’s videos but from what I’ve found is, the videos where I’m just sitting down and talking to the camera or walking and talking. Those videos get more views/watch time then videos where I try to do more cuts and editing. The last few videos I’ve done no editing or very little on 7-14 minute videos and the AVD and watch time on those videos are way better then any of my other ones

Yes, it's not so necessary to watch analytics until after you have produced 20-30 videos. Then you can start to see more trends in your data. xoox
@LiLacLife3592 ай бұрын
I’m so glad the algorithm sent your video my way.. though I’m not Gen Z but a millennial who’s looking to grow her small channel :) Really like the way you explain things! My niche is totally different from yours and I’ve been experimenting a lot of ways to reach my target audience sigh.. it gets really disheartening sometimes when you know that most of your subscribers are just family and friends of the family that your mom bullied into subscribing 😅 Currently at 380 subs and 470 watch hours.. Is there a way to know how many of these watch hours are from long form videos and how many are from my Shorts? ‘Cause at this point it seems like a combined watch time number.. but for monetization purposes, aren’t the criteria different? We need 4000 watch hours solely from long form videos right? How do we keep track of that?
@AlexaSaarenoja2 ай бұрын
Yes, there is a way to do this. Here are the steps: Log in to KZbin Studio: On the left-hand side menu, click on “Analytics.” At the top of the Analytics page, you’ll see several tabs such as Overview, Reach, Engagement, Audience, and Revenue. Click on “Content.” Within the Content tab, you'll see different content types like Videos, Shorts, Live, and Posts. Click on "Videos" to filter out Shorts and other content types. Then when looking at the information click on see more below the graph. If you don't see watch time hours, you can click on the + sign that is at the top of the chart, between content type and views title, click on this plus sign and look for watch time hours and add that to your data. Hope this helps! Making a video on this. Great idea thank you!!! xoxo

Video idea: How important is the video description for SEO? Is this something we should have full of keywords? What's an ideal length for it (excluding link sharing)?
@AlexaSaarenoja2 ай бұрын

If you ask your friends to watch the video then most likely they watch that video because they are interested in you and perhaps not in your content. Your friends might even subscribe because they want to do you a favor. However, once they watched your video, they liked your video, they subscribed, then KZbin is going to give your friends impresions of your next video's and then your friends might not click on those thumbnails because they were only watching the first video because you were in that video. They might not want to create a YT channel. Also the algoritm might get confused because your friends might have a totally different profile then the target audience of your channel. Lets say you told your basketball team that you got a new KZbin channel. Then YT thinks that people who are interested in basketball are also interested in your channel about YT. So YT recommends your channel to people who play basketball. So, I will try the opposite. I will not tell any of my friends that I have a YT channel and I will see what I will get from natural growth. Today started filming in the morning but quickly it became to hot in my little studio. I don't have airco. I will start again in about an hour.

Thank you so much for your efforts in sharing these informations. Its really helpful. I'm really struggling to create videos because I'm totally new to videoing and everything. My channel is about Chocolate, Baking and Desserts. I just realise that making chocolate or baking in real life isn't the same as shooting them in video. My chocolates are melting and not setting with those box lights shining in my direction...haha. The process are overwhelming. But I'm not giving up for sure.
@AlexaSaarenoja2 ай бұрын
Yea, I tried to do a cooking journey for youtube once...it never got to youtube, because I had no idea how to cook and all the reasons you mentioned on top of it. haha Almost burned down my house making sure things were in the shot.🤣 So I hear you! What if you keep it simple...just use basic house lighting and maybe adjust the lighting in your video later...just to start until you get the hang of it. I wish I could give you more advice, maybe cooling elements under your pans while your chocolate sets...no idea. Don't give up though, just try to not overcomplicate it. I have videos that are horrible sound and low quality with thousands of views. I think as long as they can see, what you are doing it should be fine. One thing you could do actually, is maybe put in still photos in those moments where things could potentially melt. Like photograph your chocolate when it is setting on a different counter or something and add that into the video, instead of live video, you could even say in the video since the lights were melting my chocolate I am showing you it in a different location. Keep going you've got this! xoxo
