I remember as a kid, when I went to church & was told that god is omniscient, yet we have free will, that it didn't make much sense. I never got a clear answer from anyone I asked in the church either. My parents were also dumbfounded. Even today no1 can properly answer that question.

And the issue w/ religion is that it tries to explain things, but the explanation either makes little sense or is proven wrong so they stop trying to explain (i.e. "he works in mysterious ways"). Because the truth of a deity seeding a planet w/ lives he chooses to fill w/ suffering sounds a bit Satanic--but ppl never want to admit that "God created the Devil", knowing that he betray him before ever making him.

The reason God is Omniscient and that we have free will doesn't make sense is because of a man made word that we call "future". In my opinion the word "future" is just another word for predictions. We cant tell if a future is true until it happens. Yes we can take steps to insure that the "future" event comes true but we still have to wait until its present. When you remove the word we created "future" then it means that God knows everything about what's actively happening. Then you might think, " but what about the instances where God told people what will come to happen". Whose to say that those things weren't already on its way to happen but we just couldn't see it and God's just warning us. Okay, so God flooding the earth was to show how much God hates evil. Yes unfortunately good ppl can die at the fault of evil ppl, it happens all the time which doesn't make it okay. With that being said, the evil can no longer hurt the good people.... We have a choice if we want to sin or not and/or to be around sinful acts. That is why hell and heaven are options for us. Most of the things God asks us to do are easy things like love one another, how is that so hard to do?? We try to put so much blame on God but ask yourself this. Why don't we do anything to change evil minds to clear headed ones, so no one has to suffer for eternity?

1: Different ways of worship: Scripture is quite clear about how to worship “in spirit and in truth” That people have different ways of understanding this is not the bibles fault. And who prays to a box in the desert? Nobody that I know of. 2. Exodus 21: 20&21 say absolutely nothing about how slaves should be treated. It talks about how you should treat the slave-owners if they beat their slaves. And no mention at all about acquiring slaves. Since you did not give any specific reference in Deuteronomy I can only make a general comment: Nowhere in Deuteronomy does God do what you claim he does. Even if the flood account is to be taken literally equating it to mass murder is nothing more than an argument from outrage. In the context of who God is in scripture the flood was not murder but an execution of those judged guilty. 3.Freewill: Can we say “middle knowledge”? Do you know what middle knowledge is? Have you ever even heard of middle knowledge? Or how about the tenseless theory of time? 4. Eternal Punishment: Another argument from outrage. Once again if God is who scripture says he is then he has the right to set the rules. I understand that you may not like the rules but your opinion of them does not make them “super silly”. 5.Contradictions: Name three. I might suggest that rather than “look at the books of the bible from Genesis to Revelation” you should actually read and study them and make an effort to understand them in their cultural context.

1.) Basically to worship God is to take God in, take God into your innermost being, contact God, absorb God, be infused with His Spirit. That's not stupid. We were created to be filled with the Triune God and live in a blended and united way with God. That's really what worship is. "God is Spirit and they that worship Him must worship in spirit and in reality." (John 4:24) 2.) God advocates death and suffering he says. But CENTRAL to the whole Bible is Christ's resurrection from the dead and victory over all suffering demonstrating the indestructible power of eternal life. 3.) All knowing is verses Free will he says. I'm not sure about that. Usually I am only conscious of the power of my own will to decide. That God knows from His transcendent standpoint everything throughout eternity, I can't hold that against Him. Freedom and Omniscience may simply be ultimately non-contradictory. We'll have eternity to contemplate it I suppose one way or another. I have evidence that God knew the woman I would marry. Yet to my sensation the choice was TOTALLY a matter of my freedom TO choose. And she didn't even WANT to marry anyone too. 4.) Heaven or hell ? Your kingdom COME is the prayer not your kingdom GO. The entire universe is to be Christ's possession. The meek shall inherit Heaven? It says the meek shall inherit the EARTH (Matt. 5:5). As God outworks His eternal purpose John said He saw ultimately "a new heaven and a new earth" (Rev. 21:1) . The battle is really over the earth. And what makes you think the sinner's sinning stops whereas in the lake of fire? Ongoing further blasphemies may call for continuous wrath of judgment upon them. I would not be so curious as to be lost in order to find out. 5.) I don't know what your point number 5 is. But when you come to the point of can God forgive, It seems you missed the major part of the New Testament. I can't speak of Quran. So I think after you read Luke or Romans or Matthew, maybe we could talk over more God's jJustification, Redemption and "Their sins and lawlessnesses I shall by no means remember anymore." (Heb. 8:12) or "Father forgive them for they know not what they do." (Luke 23:34).

Johannah Patterson I see and am glad you know some scripture but have you seen the larger picture? And Im glad you also picked those two instances. Gods commandment towards abraham to kill his son was to see Abrahams faith and how far he would go in trusting God, and ofcourse out of Gods sovereignty He knew that Abraham would obey the Lord, that is why he stopped him and provided him with a sacrificial goat, which actually leads me to those animal sacrifices you brought up. In the old testament yes God did require animal sacrifice for the atonement of sin. Now the interesting thing about you bringing those two instances is that it leads to what the whole point of the bible is. The reason God required sacrifice in the old testament is because we are sinners and if you and I are being truly honest to ourselves, well then we must admit we must be punished, and that punishment is death, in short we should be the ones who infact die. Now the conundrum there is God loves his children, but at the same time God has to be a just God. What he did was permit that we have an animal sacrifice in our place. Fast foward to the new testament and yes He is still the same God, and still requires sacrifice for the atonement of our sins. So abrahams son, the goat he provided, and all the animal sacrifices pointed to the ultimate sacrifice for the atonement of our sins, and that sacrifice was Jesus Christ. You see the animals were all temporary, they were required for every sin at every time we did it, but here is the rub, we can't stop sinning. Jesus Christ turned out to be that sacrificial lamb we needed to atone for all of our sins past, present and future. And through that sacrifice we can be forgiven, we don't have to be under his judgement anymore and be cast from his presence. All we have to do is accept his free gift of eternal life. These false worshipping practices are NOT of God. These are false teaching by the Roman Catholic Church AND false God worship. The Bible Directly tells you NOT to worship him in the way of their Gods.... 2. I've already addressed your killing points. 3. I've already addressed your free will statement. You do realize that the angels record everything we do? So I mean, he is watching. 4. If you DO NOT REPENT and accept the Messiah as the savior then you will perish and be put to a second death. You challenge the creator of the plants, humans, and animals intelligence? He is obviously smarter than you, me, or anyone else on this earth combined. That's just laughable.
