On my trip earlier this year we went to Komeda's three or four times but it was never for lunch/dinner. At first it was for dessert and coffee, then after that we went there for breakfast, but we never got around to trying the lunch. (My mom loved the peanuts so much she ended up buying bags of them as souvenirs.) Next time I'll have to see about trying their meals...

It might be helpful for first time travelers to Japan to address special food requirements. As you said, finding vegetarian/vegan food can be difficult. I can't eat food with gluten; that is also tough to manage in Japan. I can't eat at least half of what was shown in this video for example.

My friend and I made Takoyaki a few years ago. We live in the USA, so some of the ingredients were hard to find. Luckily, I'm in an area with a huge Asian population, so we do have a few specialty food stores we were able to go to to find the less common to America ingredients. It was soooo good! Japanese mayo is the best!!

I live in Puerto Rico and there is a local pizza place that has seafood choices as toppings. Garlic and octopus with land crab or anchovies is my favorite toppings. 🫠😋 🤤 I wouldn’t eat at the American fast-foods because in Japan because I don’t eat at them here. Hopefully when I visit Japan I’ll definitely eat from the local places. 👍👏
