Hello!! Namaste 🙏 I love your videos & am fascinated by Japan (as many others). Yes, in India we do have such curry breads & its varieties. 1. Kachori: This actually looks like the one you are eating. The filling is different though, it's lentils with spices in a dough ball, which is then fried. 2. Litti: It's a variation of kachori. Only difference, it's made of whole wheat flour, & the filling is dry consisting of sattu (powdered roasted pulses/grains), chillies & spices, which is then baked in open fire/charcoal or sometimes deep fried. This is basically a staple food of Bihar. 3. Vada pav: This contains buns (pav) with fried potato fritters (Vada) in between with sauce (it's basically our indian burger). This then is enjoyed as it is, or sometimes the whole is fried in besan. It is native to Maharashtra. 4. Paratha: There are flat breads (same as in Singapore) with stuffing inside, which can vary from cabbage, cauliflower, potatoes, paneer, minced meat 'keema', etc to name a few, (actually what your heart desires) & then shallow sometimes deep fried in ghee(clarified butter). There is also a sweet version where it's stuffed with sugar or 'gur'(jaggery). 5. Bread pakora: We literally put stuffing inside bread like, spiced potatoes,paneer/cottage cheese, chicken etc. coat it in besan/gram flour & deep fry it. I'm sure there must be tons of other variations in other provinces here. I just named a few popular ones enjoyed all over India. These foods originated from one place, but they diversified & got adopted according to the taste palate of the region. So I might not have everything correct. Take care. Lots of love from India🇮🇳

we actually pronounce it Alfredo! I can understand if you see アルフレド on a package, you might think it's "Alfred," but since it's Italian, or maybe more accurately Italian American, it's Alfredo. It's a sauce made with butter, heavy cream, parmesan, and garlic. Alfredo is the name of the chef who invented it!

I'm truly jealous. Japan's Costco looks amazing with so many different variations of foods, and even the Food Court options are seasonal?? I'd love to see something like that in US Costcos. All we have are hotdogs, pizza (cheese, pepperoni), chicken bakes, and churros. You do get the soft serve and a few shakes/smoothies, but that's really it, sadly. Sure, you see the Kirkland brand items that are found throughout every warehouse, but I would love to see more products from outside the US- especially more foods from or inspired by Japan.

@@MrsEats Poke has become very popular on the US mainland, with poke restaurants popping up all over the place within the last 5 years or so. Alot of Ramen restaurants in the US started selling poke as well. Its basically sushi in a bowl. It's usually a bed of rice, topped with fish, and things like edemame, tomago, seaweed, furikake, unagi sauce, and spicy mayonnaise, among other things. Most of the restraunts let you customize your order.

Some parts of the US eat intestine too but I think they are called "chitlins ". Tomato rice soup is often a standard type to find in a can :D. Alfredo sauce is a cream sauce that goes great with pasta/spaghetti but also sometimes with chicken or apparently salmon :D I don't have an alfredo sauce recipe but I have a pumpkin alfredo sauce recipe :D INGREDIENTS 12 oz. fettuccine 2 tbsp. butter 2 garlic cloves, minced 3/4 c. pumpkin puree (canned or frozen) 1/2 c. whole milk 1/2 c. finely grated Parmesan, plus more for serving 1/2 tsp. chopped rosemary 1/4 tsp. grated nutmeg 2 tbsp. chopped parsley DIRECTIONS In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook fettuccine according to package directions until al dente. Drain. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute. Stir in rosemary and pumpkin. Pour in milk and stir until evenly combined, then stir in Parmesan and nutmeg. Season with salt and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes, or until you reach your desired consistency. Turn off heat and toss pasta in the sauce. Garnish with parsley and more Parmesan, if desired.

Around 0:40 a "special event" is what those of us who work for CDS (the people that hand out samples in costcos) would also call a "road show". It's basically a longer, more involved version of the normal demos and is meant to draw in more customers than the standard demo. CDS = Club Demonstration Services and it is a separate company from Costco that has exclusive affiliation with Costco. Wherever there is a Costco, there's bound to be a CDS team ready to hand out samples and convince you to buy things for 6 hours :) It's good to know that if I ever decided to move to Japan, I would have a job still 笑 3:07 Those dinner franks are the ones served at the food court. 4:30 I agree. It sounds delicious and it would definitely go well over rice. 10:50 Tteokbokki! I love tteokbokki and cheese and now I want that 笑 PSA: Please, please, please be respectful to your local CDS personnel. You might be a Costco club member but so are we and being a club member doesn't give you the right to be rude or expect samples on your time or get into our personal space or touch our equipment. If there are no samples under the plastic guard, just wait. Don't try to get them while the CDS sales associate is prepping the trays. Trust me. I wouldn't be saying this if it didn't happen often. It happens way too much at my Costco but it's always good to provide a reminder to others anyway. We're still people too and we deserve respect. You haven't payed for the samples we give out so you aren't entitled to them so please do not act in such a manner. I'm sure it's not the case in Japan or a lot of other places that aren't america but as I said, it doesn't hurt to remind people :) thank you!

We would never get those items here in Australia but now you've got me thinking I need to get a Costco membership just to find out what we do have.

Unless you have one close by, or buy a Costco TV, membership is hard to justify. Try to chat to someone who has a membership first 👍

Hey hi.. in India this curry bread looks very close to cutlet or a Dabeli.. it's a snack 😋 In India a curry is in of liquid form. A Dabeli is like a roasted bread which has stuffing inside. A cutlet is a deep fried bread and inside it has a potato stuffing...

I recently went to a Costco here in Japan and the electronics are a bit more expensive here than in the states, also the video games are like half the price compared to the US. They also have so many things I missed from the US there like the hotdogs

So when i think of south asia what comes to mind is indian subcontinent and achar means is a type of pickle usually in oil. So while that looks like it could be good I am not sure it has actual achar. Also achar is usually a garnish. Also there used to be a sandwich at the subway in Todai's second engineering building that could probably give that roast beef sandwich a run for it's money in terms of the amount of roast beef in the sandwich called the destroyer.

Costco is a very forward-looking company. What I mean by this is that Halloween or Christman items are sold 3-4 months in advance. Also, the US stores have price codes that could indicate the item's price is dramatically reduced (ends in .97) or the product will not be re-stocked (an asterisk next to the price) once the current stock is depleted. Hopefully, you don't see an asterisk next to the water or toilet paper 🙂

Sadly I have yet to find anywhere else in the world with curry pan. I found designer versions in the jmsdf shop that were less greasy. Much like curry, I think curry pan is a Jtai creation. Almost every food Japan produces was the best I have found in the world. The Japanese scotch egg was far better than its Scottish equivalent. Probably following on from your mastery of whiskey. Whenever it would show up in my obento, I would taunt my Scottish friends. Your tiramisu reminded me of saizeria and how good it was. Can you go to the cantina in zushi for us and copen local base in kamakura for us.

I'm worried when I visit Japan. Living in the Midwest, I don't eat much seafood and have only recently have been trying sushi. However, this Wagyu beef looks amazing and I want to try it. Also I love toriniku and butaniku. And I love rice, so I wouldn't mind putting that in a bisque or other soup. Of course, I'm also a sucker for bakery and tiramisu and because of Sakuraco, I know there are lots of amazing treats I can find, so maybe I will be okay. :D

My favorite thing to get at Costco in the United States is the rotisserie chicken for $5. It's their number 2 selling item, right behind toilet paper. $5 can't even get you a combo meal at McDonald's anymore, but you can get a 3lb roasted chicken that easily feeds 2 adults and 2 kids.
