Hopefully Bates dont turn out to be anothe John Romo, who had the leg, but got ate up by competition with Badgley, but if he does, we have Bates on practice, Badgley on 53 and Turner out! Reason why we keep going back to Badgley is 50+ hes consistent and beat out 3 good legs, that just weren't!!

Broderick Martin could be a sooner or later bust. Levi is a talented guy, however can he turn his career around. Martin totally sucked last year. Especially in the Raider game. It's unfortunate Isaiah Buggs never got along with AG. Buggs was the Lions best run stopper.

I don’t think Levi would be that surprising given his output so far. Unless your name is Justin Tucker then a kicker’s job is always up for grabs. And a depth CB in a year where we signed two corners and drafted two more is pretty predictable.

News flash if the lions are going to get the kicker Bates they are going to have to pay for him there are a lot of NFL teams interested in that kid. Not like the lions have some exclusive access to signing him he will be offered multiple try outs and probably several contract offers. Good for Bates hope he signs but Holmes will need to pay the man. To much interest in him now. The GM wants to talk about competition between players let's see how he competes against other GM's when it comes to that kicker.
