Dogo Argentino USA Hi again Can you please help me find the right place and price to crop my dogo ears I live in the DMV area
@DogoArgentinoUSA4 жыл бұрын
Prices vary $350-$700. I suggest you set up a consultation to find a vet who makes you feel comfortable and can show healed photos of the crops but bear in mind posting (the part you do at home) is the main aspect that creates a final look,
@nelsonmendivil39144 жыл бұрын
@@DogoArgentinoUSA I took my dogo to get his ears crop and they did a bad job his ears are way to short and on my receipt it said breed pitbull 😤 and I told them before what breed it was that I didn't wanted his ears that short I'm taking him back in 1 wk to removed the stitches and I will let them know that did a bad job I'm very angry because I paid a good amount for the puppy so I wanted a good job done
@DogoArgentinoUSA4 жыл бұрын
nelson mendivil Of the four typical crops (battle, short, show and tall) it maybe that did a battle crop? That is unfortunate. You might want to do a lawsuit? You have proof in the form of the receipt!
@DogoArgentinoUSA4 жыл бұрын
VIP_HMS_VIP !! I don’t feel comfortable giving out specific vet recommendations because there is no “one size fits all” veterinarian! What I recommend is to call vets and meet with them to discuss your goals (hunting, show or companion) and bring pictures of the crop you want. Find out what method they use (laser or scalpel) and ask for healed crop references.

I have a dog pack back and take my Dogo to the dog trail at San Onofre state park beach. The back pack has 2 liquid containers so I put water on one side for my dog and wine cooler for me on the other side. He carries everything for me except the umbrella. He loves to run into the crashing waves and we body surf. I do use a spray sun screen since their coat is not very thick and when they are wet, they basically look naked.

My Dogo Argentino is 6 years old. could be friendly with people that he met for the first time and give them kisses. Just if they are properly introduced. Also Dogo’s can get alone with small dogs if they feel are part of their pack. My Dogo LOVE, is very gentle and protective towards his “brother” Bichon Frise. Saved his “brother” from a Pitbull attack during a walk. When we came back from the fight my Dogo looked fine, smiling like nothing happened. when I checked him he had wounds on his neck but with no pain.. Love the breed!

I have a 51 lbs male Dogo mix named Leroy. Leroy is very high energy, about four days a week we do two to three hours at the dog park in the morning, and then a three to five mile walk in the afternoon. Leroy gets to choose his hike rout so he goes home when he wants to. Leroy is also my service dog so he gets around a lot during the day. The problem I had was keeping the weight on Leroy. Now I know you guys are big on the raw diet, this is close, but my Vet recommended the Smart Cookie Barkery (www.smartcookietreats.com) I would highly recommend the Rabbit Jerky, it's 100% rabbit, and if you don't do raw, the Endurance treats. We where just in their store, Leroy is a service dog, he jumped up on the girl working their to get the jerky, I've never seen anything like it. That rabbit jerky is amazing, all the dogs at the dog park are on it now. The one thing I was worried about was feeding him rabbit would make him chase rabbits, but it had the opposite affect. I'm 45, I've recommended three companies in my life and this is one of them. The others would be RuffWear and Danner Boots, I get the feeling that RuffWear is not going to fit a Dogo. I'm sorry if I shouldn't have done this.

Hello, we live in the desert and found a beaten up half dead dog. It’s presumed he was attacked by coyotes. A hundred small wounds and gashes, but nothing another big dog would have done. A lot of vet bills and love and now we really think he could be a Dogo. Along with resembling the breed he also exhibits many of the characteristics. We’ve done DNA testing and are awaiting the results. Wish I could send you a picture and get your opinion. Wonderful informative videos. Thank you for sharing your canine family with the public.

Hi. I have enjoyed your videos. I want to share with you my experience. In Feb of this year my son called me one day and said that he was at Pet smart and found a dog that they were preparing to euthanize by 5:00. He has been wanting a dog for at least a year. I told him to get the dog. I only saw a pic and had no idea. Long story short this is the BEST dog we’ve ever had!!! He was very well behaved and loving. He had been at the shelter for 3 months. Anyway my entire family adores him. After doing some research I discovered that I have a Dogo! He’s priceless and I cannot believe that we just happened upon him an he was scheduled to be euthanized. I’d like to send a pic of him if you are interested😀 don’t know how to do it on a comment. My son is a skateboarder and he in the dog take off like a whirlwind thru the neighborhood. It is a site to see for sure!

Thanks very much for your support and feedback. My goal is to help make Dogo owners lives easier! I am happy you found a great family pet. You do know PetSmart does NOT euthanize animals at all - I worked there for many years - they don’t even have euthanizing facilities whatsoever. They work with local rescues offering space for free for the rescues to display adoptable animals. Regardless of the circumstances of bringing in a new family member, I am pleased it was a good fit. That’s great. You can check out the description of any video and there’s an email there.

Once again, you uploaded a very informative video; thank you very much! Once again, I have a question. Most on the internet say that dogos cannot tolerate cold weather because they do not have an undercoat. Some say that they can because they develop an undercoat when they have time to adapt to a cold climate. What do you know about this matter, if I may ask? By the way, in the age of advanced imagery (and autopsies of dogs in rich countries), why can this question not be answered definitely? For example, there are dogos in Canada and Alaska and those who have dogos there must have enough money to go to the vet (buying a dogo alone is expensive). Therefore, there must be records on this subject. As an average citizen, I cannot easily find out and digest this kind of information but dogo clubs must have the resources to do so.
@DogoArgentinoUSA4 жыл бұрын
My older adult female is a Russian import. She had very thick coat upon arrival to this country that she lost after about a year here. She has two very small sections (one on a shoulder blade and a tuff in front of each ear) that have remained. It snows in the Argentine mountains and the Pyrenean Mastiff and IWH are in their heritage (two snow tolerant dogs) so.some snow tolerance is built in. My own pack really love snow but I don’t keep them outdoors longer than two hours in winter while we hike together. The reason your question cannot be definitely answered is two-fold. To add to the scientific data an actual empirical study must be funded and in a rare breed there simply isn’t funding available or interest given more crushing areas of concern like homelessness or deafness. Secondly autopsy is pricy and even in wealthy countries rarely undertaken since it can yield inconclusive results, cost more than the initial investment and at the end the knowledge gained while valuable to the DA breed as a whole is largely valueless to an owner individually,

gamin dictator It depends on the Dogo. An under exercised Dogo becomes bored and boredom leads to destruction. If the animal starts destroying the yard, excessively barking, digging holes in the yard or destroying property it is likely not enough exercise,

Ok idk if I have a mixed breed but he looks exactly like a argentino and the same markings they usally have he has as well but he has a black patch on his back from what I can tell he is mixed with American pit bull he is so beautiful I’m 100% sure he has more dogo in him tho

They’re different. Eye shape is almond not oval, head is more square than oval, muzzle is half the head not 1/3. There are many differences but you have to know both breed standards to see them 💕
