Lane departure is not on the column where you were looking for it, instead it's on the left hand side dash as a button.(Right below your hand at 4:10), Turn off rev matching in your console. Tons of things in there (like changes to your gauge cluster!), except for the turning off the Adaptive Sound Control (which is easy to do by pulling a connector behind the glove box). Enjoy your CTR :)

Thanks for the in-depth review. You’re the guy that drove to Jersey and went over to your buddies house. I also watched the video where you picked up your car for the first time. Has anyone thought of spraying scotch guard on the alcantara steering wheel like I’ve seen some people spray it on the seats? A problem I can see is the steering wheel turning hard, crusty and begin to crack after a few years because of the sweat and oil buildup from the hands. The steering wheel will just become a big sponge. Anyways, can’t wait to see more videos of your Type R!

@SilverScarletSpider4 жыл бұрын
0858Pinoy Wow, is the Subaru WRX STi not reliable enough to be daily driven to work or serve as a family car? I know that the Honda Civic Type R (with 18 inch rims) would cost much less to maintain and repair compared to the Subaru WRX STi, but did not expect the gap to be that wide. Suppose that means the base Subaru WRX is a better family car than the Subaru WRX STi, especially when factoring the 30+ years of ownership costs I want out of it. My friends and family are all currently driving around ~15-30 year old Honda Civic Si’s so we are seriously looking at these WRX STi’s and Type R’s as performance “upgrades”, while also considering the numerous practicality/durability/reliability/affordability “downgrades”.

Hey DC5R.Parts thanks for your review. This is one of the most detailed I have seen. I am currently looking at my next car and fortunately I was able to test drive one in Atlanta. Chattanooga area dealerships for some reason are a joke when it comes to that car to get a test drive. I have test driven a 75 K Cadillac CTS V Sport and the Dodge Challenger Scat and they allowed a test drive. Did you ever have a Mustang GT or was that a review in your intro? Love the color by the way. PS can you make a video when you swap out the steering wheel. Maybe options selection, and how you installed it. Thanks for your review.
@DC5RParts4 жыл бұрын
Hey! Thank you for taking the time to share that with me. It’s definitely tough to get your hands on a Type R let alone test drive it. But I get it... other companies let you but gotta keep in mind they had those cars here for a while so the wow factor is less hyped than a Type R. Meaning they rather have it be exclusive so Honda dealerships won’t let people test drive them so they buy it instead. Mental games. Now, yes I had a 2017 GT. You can check my Channel videos and you’ll find it. Also the Type R steering wheel video is up on the channel too. Feel free to browse through the channel as I have tons of content here. Enjoy 👍🏼

@@DC5RParts Thanks I actually was able to go to a Porsche dealership in Atlanta and test drive one. It was a great experience. The car was really quick and the rev matching was unreal. So those that are interested in test driving one of these since Honda is moronic to not bring more to dealerships check really high end car dealerships and they should allow you to test drive one. Also bigger cities are way more lenient than back ass small cities. Hey Honda you want to sell more Type R put more out. So simple yet they are too stupid to get this easy logic.

Well since I do own the car, that's what I've experienced. The car shifts smoothly 99% of the time. Only when I shift off center between gates, issue is apparent. Exhaust noise is still impotent, for a car thats mechanically ace. thing that really puts me and family off is the CTR only seats 4 , why oh why not Honda just add 1 extra seatbelt in rear??! Adds massive convenience at minimum cost. It’s make or break for ppl who sometimes have to carry 5 ppl. what is there to lose by adding an extra seatbelt to rear.? Nothing, but everything to gain. l for one won’t choose one because of it, l often have 5 in car. Practicalities are essential for hot hatch. Like if feel the same

Why swap out the steering wheel when you could just install a steering wheel cover like I did.
@DC5RParts4 жыл бұрын
I don't like the factory wheel and I'm not settling for a wheel cover. I will be upgrading the steering wheel shortly and I can't wait! Thank you for watching!

I hate you!! What's good man!!? Try some Sonax for the steering wheel. I know you have something coming for it. Looking clean as always.

That's one of my favorite things about it, that it's practical for daily driving, hauling bikes/groceries, and hauling ass. This could take the place of 2 of my cars.

DC5R.Parts are you used to the electronic parking brake compared to the manual e-brake?

Damn you must drive your car very conservatively. I’m averaging 16.4 mpg in mine.
@DC5RParts4 жыл бұрын
Yes I do. I just follow the rules lol speed limit at 65mph and comfort mode. No harsh accelerations. 👍🏻

I chose a 2020 AWD Stinger GT TT 3.3 instead of this.I see you are at 25.3 MPG--amazingly I am also at 25 MPG in my stinger and I drive 10 mph over the speed limit and 85 plus on the HWY.That color is nice.Honda wanted more for this then my Stinger--but once I drove the Stinger--the AWD and the low end torque sold me.I have mine on you tube==I put geomet cross drilled rotors and an exhaust on my stinger--which is exactly what I was going to do to the Type R. In this class--and with cars like the Stinger--honda should have put an AWD system on this car. I might do a 2000 mile review.My last car was a very rare crosstour Type R that I also have on you tube--I got 19k as a trade for it and paid 19k for the Stinger.Honda Type R is excellent, but I was stunned at the str8 line acceleration of the Stinger once the 2 turbos spool up.That 365 HP figure does not do it justice--the 4 cylinder cars like the Type R--focus--subbie--just do not match the acceleration of a Stinger.

Many people do, TV shows do, It catches people attention cuz they get a glimpse of what the channel is all about. it's pretty sick. 😎 I think channels that don't. They are missing out on the opportunity. Thank you for the compliment! 🤘🏻💯💙

Dont purchase anything from DC5R Parts. Horrible customer service. Long wait time. No response through emails, no response through messages on instagram. Received damaged item missing parts. Package had no wrapping paper or packaging peanuts to protect my order. $899 on a DC5R center console down the drain. Claims to be whole set but never received E-Brake. Over all bad purchase.

you guys are like frogs get out of well. You have been denied Honda sensing all along till 2020 version. LOL. did you know that honda sensing already comes with the 2017-2019 models of the UK version? they are called the Civic Type R GT. Most complete. I got my 2018 model that has ALL that you drooled in your 2020 version. Besides, the engine my car is also 10 PS higher than North American version. The UK/Europe version is the highest specifications one and most complete. Type R GT. I don;t know why you did not get this!

If you drive a sport car, manual, you dont need all that nice auto safe features, really. I like the car, but Honda put too much features on it :)
@DC5RParts4 жыл бұрын
To each their own lol maybe the 2017-19 model is for you. Having owned performance cars and luxury cars too. I personally like the features when I'm driving it in the streets. I can shut it off when it comes down to business (track use) best of both worlds, luxury and track DNA. For $40k+ I am glad they loaded it up with 2020 technology. Only 4lbs increase in overall weight in this revised 2nd gen model. Not bad in my opinion.

I love this car but they totally fucked up by replacing the original blue colour with this one. Looks atrocious, like something from candy store. It's fucking Type-R! This looks like a colour a woman would pick on her Fiat 500
@DC5RParts4 жыл бұрын
It's okay man. It's just a car lol no need to curse out a color. That's your opinion about the color but the vast majority of us, We love the color. I agree, they should have kept the other 17-19 blue. Thank you for watching my Fiat 500 😂
