In my 2005 gtp my biggest gripe is the traction control having a mind of its own. Sometimes. Sometimes it turns off sometimes no. Sometimes I gotta hold it, sometimes press ir rapidly. Sometimes drives it will activate for select moments, other times it wont. Someitmes it all turns off and I get warning messages for every system in the car lol. Although this is a wear and tear issue not inherent. My favourite thing about it is the WHHHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE sound.

Agree completely although I have a Regal GS, I'd say I wish not only did they have a manual option but also came as RWD.

A Grand Prix issue that I know the SE has (not sure about the 3.8Ls) is the oil pan can't just be taken off like most engine oil pans. It is most of the bottom part of the engine, has side bolts that are hard to get to, and you have to lift the engine way out of the car before you have any chance of getting it out.

The fog lights are a pain in the ass to change out, my roommate had a 2000 Grand Prix GT silver mist, I loved that car, fast for it's time, fun to drive!!

Oh, the passenger side lower engine mount! It is right below the crankshaft seal, so if that leaks, the oil eats away the rubber, then the engine/transmission drops on that side, tearing up the CV axle.

Just want to add on to the cup holder segment if you have two medium to large drinks in the cup holders it's a pain in the ass when you want to get to the shifter for instance if you're driving and you want to downshift you always smack into the cups it's one of the things I picked up on as soon as I started driving mine

Your video reminded me that I always felt bad for my front passenger in the winter because of only the drivers seat was heated. But I loved the rocker switch, turned it on in the fall and turned it off in the spring.

You can install your own little hood light not hard to do. Too fix the dash from warping buy a dash mat and use a sunshade.

I just recently bought a supercharged Grand Prix 2003 it was missing exhaust from the cat back to the mufflers I bought a replacement exhaust come to find out I'm a resonator short is there any way someone could let me know where I can find a flange straight pipe so I can delete the resonator

Glad my 01 had some of the updated parts. I would also toss in not enough room in rear engine bay to change spark plugs, 1.5 DIN stereo and no front and rear STB.

I'd rather like the show you seem pretty informed on the Grand Prix I have a 2002 supercharger up in Washington and I hit some ice on the ride home and it was on doing about 40 all of a sudden I'm in a high speed spin hit the front end pretty hard on the jersey barrier got out was pretty amazed that it took it but now when I drive it I can't go over 40 miles an hour the car is sweeping really bad I lose control of the back end and I don't know if it's coming from the front end or not if you have any comments or suggestions on the front end suspension I'd appreciate it sorry for the long text Merry Christmas brother

Merry christmas. The inpact probably bent something in the front. I would check for bent components then get an alignment.

I pulled a under-hood light from a Pontiac Bonneville, and I am going to install it on my '99 GTP. The one thing that I have not settled on though is a switch for it, so that it comes on when the hood latch is released! A video on your mod would be appreciated!

Great video i have owned one of these cars since 99 of love them great video and the reason there was no stick option no one can drive stick any more if u order a stick option car or truck u have to order one and then wait 2 4weeks for the car or truck to come in. my first stick i leaned to drive was 3 on the tree 67 ford pick up

Hood light - Why did my 1989 olds 88 n/a 3800 have an underhood light, but not my 01 Regal GS? Interior materials - Very volatile materials used that are susceptible to breaking I've noticed, but for the price kind of makes sense. Thin strut mount bushing - I had no idea about. I was never too stoked on their suspension setup. Manual Trans - Is a huge issue for a lot of US L67 owners. Especially since non-transverse mounted RWD L67s are available in Europe and Australia or just Australia not sure.. JESUS CHRIST THE CUP HOLDERS! Mine broke within the first couple of years.

One of the first things that happened to me when i got the 99 was the cup holder dropping a whole milkshake on me while i was driving. The newer ones are much better though

you mention the lack of an underhood light..... whats odd is we also have a very nice, clean 1990 grand prix from south carolina...... it has an underhood light. so when they went forward to the next generation of these cars they took the hood light out? makes no sense.

I think so. My 2005 is a great car. My 99 has been also. Its mostly about age and how well they are taken care of.

The G8 and the GTO were Holden vehicles. G8 is a Commodore and GTO is a Monaro. So.. that's why they had Manual options. GM"s Aussie company. A G5, G6, Grand Prix and Grand Am are all GM USA cars. Yet.. you're wondering why a Front Wheel Drive car doesn't have that option? that's just how it is. What about that GrandPrix HUD ? nowadays we just throw our cell phones on the dash with a gps MPH display app, mirrored. I was waiting for a comment about window motors failing. Nothing like rolling down a rear window in the winter and it won't go back up. Also.. my 94 GP SE (with optional GTP Package, great for insurance) The door handle snapped on New Years Eve. 2 door car. Yeah that was a fun night. Oh, and the sony cd player, with the steering wheel control adapter. That was fun to wire up. but i love steering wheel buttons.

Hey, got some issues with my 97 gtp. I got this car a few weeks ago, the supercharger makes some noise. I've been watching your videos, very helpful, anyway my tentioner is terribly hard to move. I know it shouldn't be this tight(doesn't move enough to take the belt off) does this mean I should replace the tensioner or is it adjustable?

I would replace the tensioner. What noise is the blower making?

@@SalemDoyle I'm not sure what you mean by the blower, but I'm pretty sure, from watching your videos, that the coupler is bad, it rattles. There is kind of a winey sound. This is my first supercharger so I kind of thought that was normal. I did change the sc oil, it was really black but it wasn't low.

A whiney sound is normal. A bad couple sounds like a rattle near the snout. Blower = supercharger
