1. Leather is fragile. 2. Interior door melts in extreme heat. It was a recall. 3. Burns oil (quart / 500 mi) 4. Doesn't like the body design 5. Headlights get dirty quick.../ accessory mode-- no BT music play. Op get an after market adapter for bt car play. Super cheap. Also tooth paste on the lights , and a clear film should work. Or apply a thin coat of WD40 each month. Too much humidity where you live and it's causing oxidation.

Check the owner's manual. It probably tells you that the allowable oil usage is 1qt every 1000 miles. The earlier in line six was the only engine that had usage over expected. 25 years Lexus Master Diagnostic Specialist.

Yep, and he doesn't even put chapters into the video so we can skip to the points. Looking at getting a 460 myself so I just want to see some common issues. From what I've come across it's mainly issues with the factory air suspension if it came equipped, and loose front end parts which can add up very quickly.
@MrGeezil

@@rotrxentertainment5817 it depends on the year. 2007-2010 got a lot of issues. I had 2009 so many problems finally transmission gave out around 153K. I upgraded to 2020 Genesis G90, different animal nothing I missed in the Lexus. Problems-Air suspension fucked up so I finally converted to regular struts , brake actuator issues, o2 sensors issues, coolant leak issues, fuel pump gasket oil leaks (both)and all the control arms were messed up too. That annoying plastic cover at the underbody keep coming off too. I had a mechanic who told me his friend had similar of the LS460 model and had to sell it due to so many issues. LS400 and Ls430 are much reliable than the LS460.

@@DeathhAngel1 the 3.3T is faster than that 4.6 Lexus v8. The front end seems to be less heavier and pretty much handles the corners well. I drove both cars multiple times through the Western slope in Colorado from Aurora to Rifle CO. It’s crazy how the big G90 handles much better around the curvy roads with plenty of power to spare. Do I miss the V8 , no way. The V8 might be smoother , and that’s pretty much what you gonna miss about it.

The ONLY reason it burns oil is because your car had the valve spring recall done and it wasn’t done right resulting in oil burn later in life.
@robertwarren6223
@robertwarren6223 Жыл бұрын
I feel you on the those problems. I did make the cut off for the ZLZ recall for the interior. Lexus changed out the dash, glovebox, console box, all 4 door panels and the backseat armrest. As far as the head unit…. Look up V GROM. You can specifically order it for your LS. Last time I checked it’s between 6 to 700, but you can have the unit installed behind the original head unit and I think it’s a major upgrade without upgrading your car. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and all that. Planning on getting it for my LS this summer.

Run seafoam through the brake-powerbooster to clean the valves and pistons, run a few tanks of treated seafoam/gum out gasoline, and then put some gumout/seafoam(per the directions, shoot for the middle mileage parameters) through your crankcase aka the oil, then change it. If you're burning oil because of stuck low-compression rings, which I'd 99% a major reason, it will more than likely help if not correct that aspect of the oil burning. It may have some slight damage to the cylinder walls, but it obviously runs great so I'm going to guess that the majority of the issue is in fact those stuck rings. Try it and lmk please!

With all due respect the Lexus LS 460 Base / Long was never intended to be a hot rod. It was designed for elegance, comfort and reliability rivaling the Mercedes S Class. The people in mind were the high middle to upper class who didn’t want to spend S Class money but experience the same level of luxury. You’re taste but true aficionados wouldn’t be impressed with your modding visions. Second, you’re Lexus LS 460 has 300,000 miles on it which is a true testament to the Lexus V8. Unless ANALY taken care of any sophisticated engine will experience oil burning. I don’t know how well it was maintained before you purchased it but I’m willing to bet the previous owner’s didn’t drive it the way you do. As for the look it WAS pure class. Again YOU’RE taste. AND you slammed it ??? Bouncing down the road in ANY car looks mechanically painful coming from a 40 year self taught mechanic who has a soft spot for higher end cars. I currently have two 750 IL’s, a Mercedes S550 AMG Sport, a Mercedes S600 AMG, a Jaguar XJR and a Audi A8L plus a somewhat rare Infinity M45 Sport. Needless to say I have a little experience with such vehicles lol

Congratulations on your vast collection of cars! I absolutely agree with you... and that's exactly why I did what I did! No one touches these cars because of their elegance, class, and sophistication. I'm a little disturbed how thrashed your interior looks like since the material is pretty high quality as far as faux leather goes - how many miles are on this car, is it over 100K? 200K? I thought it said 172,000 on your odometer @1:09 but I can't tell - but if so I guess I have my answer! Same goes for the oil consumption issue. Burning a quart in 500 miles is not unusual for a high mileage engine but I think at least I'd try an additive to free up those sticky piston rings. Since the V8 has the "low tension" piston rings that Lexus specified just for the sake of gas mileage, I'm thinking the least little bit of sticking in the rings is going to cause oil consumption, so I think I'd buy several bottles of Red line or Techron and run that through the engine over time and see what happens. Nice of you to show the Accura alongside your LS, I think most of us at least test drove the obvious competition (Infiniti and Accura) before we wound up buying an LS. I think I test drove a Q50 or something and an Accura that I can't even remember the model. But I felt I had to at least try the competition first.. Also I had my heart set on an ES350, spent months looking for a good used model and test drove half a dozen, but all of them seemed to be missing something. But when I decided to test drive an LS the puzzle was solved - it looked, felt, and drove like the high-end car a Lexus ought to look and feel like. .

None of these sound like issues, I have a 2010 and don’t have any of those issues. I have Bluetooth bc it’s a 10. I don’t burn oil bc it’s under 50k miles, seats are fine especially for being an Arizona vehicle. They did a slight facelift in 2010. Window tint at 5% ceramic so heat isn’t an issue in the cabin

I wanted a TLX Type-S, but they like the old TL are higher priced then I would like. On the burning oil, if you burn a quart every 500 miles do you even have to do a oil change. Just change the filter every 4k miles call it a day?

Burning oil issue is because of the no resonator you have as you have downpipe and x pipe straight

Not true it’s due to shoddy repair work from the dealer regarding a valve spring recall.

I don’t see many LS’s in California roads anymore, like almost none every time I go out driving. However i see lots of S Classes, that really tells you the S Classes is just much better in all aspects.

@@Sam_Dunn If you want to add bluetooth, there's a plug and play module for around $75. I just installed it on my LS460 two days ago and it's amazing. You get to keep the steering wheel controls as well unlike with the AUX. Lmk if you want the link. Installation was around 20 minutes and that was because I didn't want to scratch anything nor damage my interior as most of the stuff was changed by the ZLZ recall (I want to keep it fresh and clean).
