So true. I am a 45-year-old woman who has fibromyalgia. I decided weight-lifting would motivate me. I learned to do the standing barbell and dumbbell strict overhead press. I just did 95 pounds on barbell! It relieves my shoulder pain so much! I now take less pain medication. I had to start somewhere.

I started going to the gym two months ago and I only spend 15-20 min weight training. It’s not a lot but because it’s not a lot of time I’ve been consistently doing the 3x a week and have started to see changes :)

My workplace thankfully has a small gym for free, and ive always been nervous to go lift because i work with mostly guys and its just intimidating. But today i went while no one else was there and my brother showed me how to do my first few sets of bench! I have the upper body strength of a cube of jello so i only got up to a few lifts at 55lbs, but hey! I enjoyed it more than i thought i would! Just discovered your channel and hope to learn more here!

Love the tip about combo movements! I struggled with this for years where I felt like I wasn’t getting anywhere while being told that these combo movements get you “more bang for your buck” because you can do more than one move at a time when really it takes me just as long to do a combo as to do them individually. It’s very prevalent in fitness classes, same with doing like 50 reps rather than lower reps with heavier weights

Hey Mama! Congratulations! I can't tell you how much you e helped me with my anxiety . I worked incredibly hard for the body I have (after 8 years of battling eating disorders) before finding my love for fitness. I had muscles and a flat tummy and was more conditioned that half my militaryco workers. I'm 33weeks pregnant and I ve been terrified of my post baby body. I just need to stay positive and enjoy my body for what it can do and build up like I did before. Thank you for keeping me going.

If you get back into shape but still have loose skin . Don't worry. You can do microneedling to diminish marks and tighten skin . Also I just used a plasma pen on my stomach and I'm waiting for the skin tightening results .

Congrats on the pregnancy! Just remember it took 9 months to create your beautiful bundle of joy. Don’t rush to lose the baby weight it’ll come off naturally, eat right and exercise light until the OBGYN clears you. Your counterparts will try to give you shit for not being able to PT right away. I'm a little late to the party. You're probably already on your journey back to your pre-pregnancy body. I just wanted to share my story to hopefully encourage you. I gained about 60 pounds while pregnant in the military and ended up losing 70 after, just from regular PT and running a few times a week. I was also 22. In any case, I know you'll get there! You probably already are and if you're not exactly where you were just know that our bodies change after a baby and we'll never be exactly where we were. I spent years and years doing all the fun workout videos on KZbin. I got no result until I started lifting last year. My glutes increased by 4 cm. My belly decreased by 4 cm. I agreed with all tips she said. If you want to change body shapes, you need to have a program with progressive overload and a good technique.

Up until a month ago, I’ve been working out 4 days a week for 2.5 years and haven’t seen any major results. Why?! Because I was solely reliant on workout videos. Never did anything else. I’m so glad I ditched the videos and just focused on a plan with sets and reps and more weights. It’s made a difference in a just a month, a small difference but bigger than in the 2.5 years.
@thlp68723 жыл бұрын
Did you work out in a gym or at home only?
@jenm64763 жыл бұрын
@@thlp6872 I was actually going to come back and make that edit. I worked at home solely, just following videos and never adding too much weight(my body weight plus maybe 6lbs). Never had time for a gym and when I finally did, COVID hit. I am considering joining next month but I’m still concerned about being in an enclosed place where there’s lot of heavy breathing for so long.
@misspriss24823 жыл бұрын
You can get major results using workout videos. The key is to make sure that you are being progressive. Start with two lb weights and as they get easier, switch to heavier weights. Any weight you use should exhaust your muscle after 12 reps. If it doesn't, don't do more reps; increase the weight.
@soniak22692 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately I don’t have time to get to the gym but I’ve seen huge progress with home workouts on KZbin. BUT I use heavier weight and progress. I use anywhere from 10 to 30 pound dumbells. I have a few smaller free weights and then I have an adjustable set of dumbells that adjust from 5-55 pounds and having the ability to progress weight makes a huge difference. Im sure i would progress even more at the gym but unfortunately my life doesn’t allow for that right now. Hopefully in the future when my kids are a little older.

new to the channel but really liking it so far! i was looking for more vids to prime my brain towards training again. personal stuff had me out of state and i lost hold of my regimen a few weeks after i got back to to MORE other stuff. one thing i struggle with is exercise intolerance. like, i got pumped, was doing a 4x schedule at gym, basically all my weights, split into 2 days then repeat. but it won't be sustainable. after a certain point i just start feeling TIRED and then no longer recover. it's frustrating... and it wasn't diet, hydration, etc. and i've even switched it to be every OTHER day to get more rest. and then dropped to 3 days. and it's like NOPE. idk if by the time i feel tired, any changes won't really help. (guess i could start up again on 3 or 2) anyway it helps to watch vids, just to get in the headspace by listening to others talk about this stuff. and i was looking for someone more focused on the mechanics, diet, talking about stuff, than the type of influencers that are ego-puffing and narcissistic. so, i'm glad to have found your channel. congrats on le bébé, though it's been a whole year now. lol!!!
