5 THINGS I WISH I KNEW BEFORE MOVING TO PHUKET THAILAND

Dr....just a tip. Catching the Bus from the airport which goes through all beaches to Rawai...100 Bhatt. Great money saver, the depot at the airport is hidden to the far right of the domestic terminal (where the cabs all are sitting). Its called THE PHUKET SMART BUS, no tourists know about this transport....it is a Mercedes air-conditioned medium sized bus with...free WIFI in it. A luxury ride, will drop you at any beach. Bonus....you can catch it back to the airport as well until 10.30 pm, it comes every hour. The station at Patong is in front of the Patong Beach Police station (for going back to the airport). This bus service has saved me heaps.

Hi Mark like your videos I've seen so far. Am new to your vid's so catching up with few hours at a time. I have Thai GF (over 2 yrs) and living together in UK. We are coming to Phuket 28th Sept for 4 weeks then may be Hua Hin or Pattaya for 3 weeks. We hope to be living in Thailand by the end of next year after setting up and preparing properly. I've been all round Europe and lived in Middle East for 7 years and am so looking forward to Asia. Keep the videos coming !!!

Hi Mark! When I had need for suits etc (many years ago), I used to come here with a bag. I'd order my shirts, suits and even hand made shoes. I'd buy a suitcase or two and fill them. Over the years, ended up with enough cases to open a bloody shop! 🤣

I agree Bolt is good though during rush hour you might have several cancellations before a keeper. // Let me recommend that you add a small LED light atop your camera cause half your foreground portrait setups with pool in background appear almost as dark as a silhouette. // Keep rollin’ Dr Sabean, you’re doing a good job - eh?!!!

Outstanding! Thank you Mark. Aonter question I've never seen addresses is how to pay a fine (bribe). I've heard you just put the money down with your licnce and look away.

There are a couple different ways to do it. That is one, also when they give you the ticket, you put a couple hundred baht in the paper for the fine hand it back and say something is wrong on it. If you are traveling to Southeast Asia take western type over the counter medecines. NYQUIL capsules, Immodium, Aleve and Tylenol. Also, make sure you always have small bills with you as taxi and Grab drivers will not like large bills.

Great advice luckily enough you can get Tylenol pretty easy here as for the grab drivers it is terrible because they'll come and they have no change and they wind up leaving with your money all the time Lol . It's the number one reason I use food Panda to be honest with you Cheers

'Mai ao khap' is also useful, Mark, if you don't want to be over bothered by street vendors. They always walk away when they hear that.

Thanks for the tips. Do you know if Phuket living is similar to Chiang Mai living in terms of prices, Bolt taxi services etc? As far as the clothing, I'm over 6 ft (183 cm) and workout regularly. In North America I'm a L or XL shirt, depending on manufacturer but when I was in europe even 4XL was small and in china, forget about it. So I suggest if you are larger, bring enough to get by in case.

And the cost of living in Chiang Mai is actually cheaper than Phuket there's no question about that rents are lower taxis or cheaper took tooks are cheaper everything seems to be cheaper even the street food... Considering Chiang Mai is a fairly large city buying clothing for someone your height is not going to be a problem plus to be honest with you if you're coming here to live brother get your clothes handmade

Invest in some quality tailored shorts for 2200 baht for 2 pairs. They fit and look so much better than cheap shorts and are much more comfortable. You always get what you pay for …
