Thank you for this video Lexi! I am feeling the same! My hair seems to dry out so quickly when I do a Wash n' go even with all the moisturizing products I use! Frustrated, I end up re-moisturizing my hair, on the second day, and putting my hair back in twists! Coconut 🥥 oil and I nuh frens a tall!! Finger coils? I never like coconut oil on my hair and it makes my scalp itch like crazy to the point of hurting. My hair hates being sealed with an oil every time I moisturize, it is so much more softer and fluffier when I omit the oil for sealing. Lastly, my hair also hates cold water rinses too because I am low porosity. The hair feels brittle and dry afterwards because the moisture I add afterwards doesn't penetrate the hair shaft since the cuticle is closed.

1. Aloe Vera juice (alone and in products) leaves my hair dry 2. I feel you on the cold water rinses and I’ll also add ACV rinses 3. Glycerin in products that I’m leaving in. It’s fine in DCs 4. Oils. I don’t use them unless it’s for a hot oil treatment 5. Cowashes 6. Silicones 7. Relaxers 8. Using pure shea butter on my hair 9. Rose water 10. Hard proteins

I tried finger coils once and 1/4 way through my hair and an hour in I was like eeeeeefffffff that. Wet my hair, combed it out and twisted it up. Ain't nobody got time for that

Wash n' go's are actually the most convenient style for me and I'm 4C/4B. I don't put in styles like two stand twist etc because parting & detangling is a such a hassle and very time consuming. My hair is very thick and coarse, doesn't like combs so I finger detangle. My hair isn't dry from wash n go's at all but indeed very soft and moisturied afterwards probably because of the products I use which are from Shea moisture, my hair loves them! Stretching and elongating my hair, quickly becomes overwhelming because I have a lot of hair, shrinkage is real. Wash n' go's actually help me tame and define my hair. My coils be popping, I tend to get a lot of compliments about how or what I do to my hair. I just say it's my natural curl pattern. I literally saturate my hair with water or green tea, shake it out in the shower, cover it with a t-shirt to absorb excess water and get ready. By times I began to style my hair, it's damp. I just apply my leave in really well, shake so more and shape & lift my hair with a pick. The rest air drys shortly no problem. I do tend to get single strand knots but I just cut them out. I could benefit from a trim but putting in twist is too much work for me. I just use the search and destroy method.

Same I like wash n gos, they are easier to do than twisting my hair. I have high density 4abc hair. My wash n gos always come out better than twistouts and I dont even use gels. For some reason my twists tend to dry very hard. So when I take them out they are dry and kinda static and overly stretched and just don't look good. Maybe I'm just using the wrong products for twistouts.

I feel you completely on the wash and go. My hair gets so dry so fast and the tangles and knots are RIDICULOUS. No matter how much I re-moisturize, it's just a disaster. I swear my hair is too highly porous to do a wash and go. It's a set up for failure and hair breakage.

yes girl, my 4c doesn’t like wash n gos. i would only wear it in a high puff as well. my hair doesn’t like cold water rinses either. coconut oil is okay but in my hair? hell to the no, i can use it if it is combined with other oils. i switched to extra virgin coconut oil to jbco and my hair flourished like crazy!!! And you’re right, finger coils take too long for my thick 4c hair! Great video girly! 💕✨

I can't do outs either. My twists and braids always dry stiff so my hair ends up stiff. Even banding my hair makes it stiff, it's a struggle. Maybe I'm using the wrong products idk. So I just do wash n gos

No wash and gos, no success with full detangling while washing, no time for finger coils. Puffs seldom. With my combination type 4 hair, I stick to twist outs, braid outs, roll and tucks and other simple styles like these that are easier on my strands. The result - Hair not nearly as dry, less single strand knots, less breakage and much less frustration overall. Love your video KandidKinks!

Cold water rinses are more for us high porosity girls because it helps to smooth our cuticles to seal in moisture. Great video!!! Thank you ❤️

Yes detangling as I wash is a waste of time because like yours it is tangled again by the time I am ready to style after rinsing. Eden bodyworks Cowash was my best experience with shower detangling. Fingerdetangling at that! Wash and go's freak me out because of dryness and tangling. Thank you for this video. It was very entertaining.

Yes I have the same hair girl but with sensitive scalp. Like I cannot try all kinds of products as my scalp will be on fire and experience hair loss. So I got my natural products and routine down to a tee and wee been good. I have proper hair tools like the hair shears Japanese blade and a full head steamer. Oh and I have 100% pure silk scarves and satin pillow case. And now I don’t have to trim so much hair off because of my consistency and listening to my scalp and hair 😊. I have not time for fingercoiling either. I’ve come to the realization that some things are for other hair types and that’s alright 👍🏽

Lexi I was in "Thank you Jesus" mode from the time you started with the wash n go to washing in sections and Hallelujah on rinsing with cold water. My hair tangles in every step of my wash day so I wait and do it in my last step. I was so glad to hear that someone else has this problem thought I was an orphan.

I hate to admit it...but it hates aloe vera. It also hates being in twists for longer than a week. My hair if I go more than a day without moisturizing it fully with the LCO Method. Also, my hair hates tools...prefers finger detangling!!

haha....same...no wash-n-go's, no coconut oil, and I never had finger coils because my hair is to thick and long and would take days. Now that you mention cold water rinses...I do them but maybe my hair rather me not because it does feel better warm. Maybe it will take in moisture products better as well. I will have to try not cold water rinsing and see. Great video!!

Wash and Go’s a better for those who don’t use shampoos. Many hair stylist recommend no shampoo (only cleansing conditioners) for those who do wash and gos to keep the moisture.

If you do a wash and go I recommend you wash your hair more often so the moisture can last. That's mostly what the problem is when people hate maintenance of wash and gos they tend to not wash their hair again no time soon. Then it's going to be very crusty and dry.

My hair only loves oils as a prepoo onlyyyyyyyy ,my hair loves silicones yes so I love conditioners with them in it and myhair stays moisturised 4c hair.Also for my prepoo which may not be necessary but I just spray my hair with rosewater(distilled)and aloe Vera juice and apply coconut,castor,sesame and hemp seed oil and wear a shower cap and just wash my hair later.i don’t seal with oils because it is pointless I just style my hair with hair milks,cream ,twisting cream or butters or styling gels but before this I blow dry my hair and style my hair when it is dry, I noticed when or if I style my hair when it is wet products don’t seem to work or my hair still looks or feels dry.

My hair does not seem to like coconut oil based products like: Eden body works cocoshea line, sm curl enhancing smoothie, bella curls. My hair definitely hates: washing without sections, glycerin, winter in the nyc lol and light oils like grapeseed and apricot oil. My scalp hates: olive oil, sage oil, tea tree oil and whatever is in sm jbco shampoo oil blend.

My hair hates the first three things you mentioned. I wondered why my hair feels hard after rinsing with cold water. Coconut oil makes my scalp itch and hair dry to the point it sheds. Oils are a problem. I’m allergic to so many of them. Seems like I get bald spots when I use raw oils. It has a love hate relationship with glycerin and aloe vera. It hated being cornrowed and flat twisted, it sheds and tangles. My hair is so damn picky. It’ll like something for months and then turn on it.

Raw coconut oil messes me up lol. It just sits on my hair and makes it dry and brittle. It's -35 degrees where I live... ain't NOBODY got time for that ! I've gotten into using local products on my hair like Khimistri hair butter (which is very light and doesn't leave my hair gunky) and Sisterly Luv Naturals products. I can no longer do twist outs lol. My hair ends up dry and I'm at an awkard length so it doesn't look right anymore. I do braidouts instead and get smoother hair that retains moisture longer and lasts longer. I started trying hair milks, too, because leave-in's are no longer soaking into my hair properly and like I said, it's -35 degrees here and I don't have time for dry hair lol.

My hair reacts the same to coconut oil but loves it in products. I detangle during the styling process too. Never done a wash n go but I want to. As you can see I have a lot of hair so lots of opportunities for her to say “ oh let’s see how many ways we can hug and wrap around each other and make knots”🙄

My hair hates cold water rinses as well. I get the exact same effect. I have fine, thin, low porosity naturally but high porosity after coloring. I dont like the loc/lco methods. I've tried lighter oils but they just build up and I'm dry and greasy within hours. Dont like clays anymore. They build up on my hair.

Hey! U r funny! Hahaha have u tried the queen Helen's cholesterol as a prepoo cond/detangler? It's good:) I put it on, put under a plastic cap for about 20 min and then, comb thru n Wash, etc. I have "Ester Rolle" tight coils, so, I git it! Love u, Ester but boohoo, good lawd! I have 4b corse high porosity hair. my hair doesn't like wash n goes either. also my scalp does not like coconut oil. will make my scalp itch like crazy, especially if I prepoo with it. I also can use coconut based hair products also like you but not the actual real coconut oil on my hair.

I see you with the matching ear rings, lippie and "NATURAL" logo 😏 the problem you have with coconut oil, I have it with castor oil: it's fine in products because it's mixed with other ingredients to create something completely different. But, directly on my hair...😶 it's a crime. Just too thick, greasy and more dust stays stuck in my hair. On finger coils, let's be real: it is not a hair style, it's just the longest and most boring upper body workout.

It’s a wash & no for me, the locs draw up into Afro mode. No more combing hair in shower because I lose more hair than taking time to twist/braiding hair in sections before washing. For my scalp no more sulfate shampoos, It gets dry and super itchy.

Girl my hair just kept nodding along with you saying yes hmmm yes. I detangle while putting in my deep conditioner and twist up then rinse out single and twist back up immediately cold water rinse not me it has to be slightly warm to cool. Coconut oil no sis has to be pass #4 or more the list in products. Shea butter my hair HATES it.

Watching this and i couldnt agree more. I have 2 girls and me, all natural. Listen tangles are our besties, they wont let us be great even though im a short natural so no, wash n goes are not for us. What it finger coils. Such a waste of time. It takes 5 hrs anyway to just wash n style these girls so why would we want to be over achievers???

Right I realized I didn't need prepoos at all! They do nothing for me. I just shampoo and immediately follow up with my favorite deep conditioner, the Shea moisture 100% virgin coconut milk rehydration masque and I'm straight!
