@@her5157 Usually, you want to see how many items are in the order, where the order is coming from, and if the pay is above $7.50 or more. Most times, anything below that amount isn't paying any more than what it says and isn't worth it. It also helps to know customer names and addresses as you want to keep track of habitual bad tippers and avoid them even if the order is a big one.

I've only been dashing for 3 months. I have learned a few things however. I am not a personal shopper! I will not do walmart, walgreens, Safeway or anything like that. Basically, if it has to do with the red card I don't do it. My minimum acceptance is $1 per mile. I also have a list of stores that I do not go to. They are always slow and you are absolutely correct time is money! :-)

I’ve only been dashing for about 2 months but it has been going pretty well. I multiapp because sometimes one app is busier than another. one thing with Doordash is pay attention to the amounts that often have hidden tips. Doordash will often hit me with $7 or $8 and change offers, which are usually more. I used a trick from The Long Island Dash experience channel to take into consideration the offer, the restaurant and the number of items to determine if an order is going to go up. Took an order for Baskin Robbins. The offer was $8 and change. But, 4 items. Was not too far, 4 miles so still $2 per mile, but I had a feeling it would go up. Went up to $15.75. Had another that was sushi was in the $7 range but upon delivery went up to $12.25. Again not bad miles and both were taking me into areas I wanted to go anyway.

It all sounds like good advice to me. They start you out with complementary top dasher status for the first two weeks. It seemed I got better trips. The end of the two weeks coincided with the end of tourist season in my area so I can't draw a conclusion. I'm going to try for top dasher status again just to see for myself if it helps in my area. Another driver in my area also said he did better by being more selective and not worrying about his acceptance rate.

DD has atleast 5 maybe 6 algorithms they use on drivers. 1) first 2 weeks 2) 15th day to 30 or 60 day driver (who is a referral) 3).same as #2 but no referral payments involved. 4) after 60 or 90.days. 5) 91 to 180 days of driving 6) 181 and beyond 7) catering orders included 8) drivers WITH 4 or 5 figures of deliveries with a high rating. 9) top.dasher program (waste of time and 💰) 10) I have not had one since JUNE (diaper rash still owes me $200 I stipped fighting them over it in september) for a challenge!!

LISTEN TO THIS MAN. Making yourself a goal and going after that goal is such a good idea. I set myself a modest goal of $100/day, Take as many trips as close to $10 as possible so I can knock out my goal in the shortest amount of time possible then call it a day, this is just supplemental income. When I tried to do this all willy nilly you end up getting disenchanted and bored with the work and you end up not liking it anymore.

one thing i noticed is that keeping top dasher isnt easy sometimes because people will slap you with a 1 star rating for things not your fault... we cannot open bags to check whats in them and sometimes stores are slow or you get a order that was rejected a few times before you and the customer takes it out on you and destroys your metrics you are working hard for

Question what's the best way to save on gas when waiting for a delivery? I noticed if I sit somewhere or go to a hot spot I barely see any deliveries come in. But soon as I start driving to another location I get a hit, and sometimes it's like a few bucks. I think it's bs they don't give me any deliveries unless I'm driving wasting my gas. I feel like doordash does that on purpose. Like hey you're just sitting no deliveries for you, oh you're wasting your gas here's a delivery for like 3 bucks. I'm trying to find a way to manage that so I'm not wasting money on gas. I gotta make it worth it by the end of the day.

Last Friday night I made $44 in 3 1/2 hrs (i quit early because i was just pissed! Lol). On a Friday night I shouldn’t be making less than at least $18 an hour in this area. Its a wealthy region. I think they entice new drivers with high paying orders to restaurants that take for friggin ever to make orders. Lost lots of time and now my on time/early rating is dwindling VERY fast even though i ALWAYS click the food not ready yet in app! Im done! Im not waiting anymore no matter how high the pay is. So I just started dashing a couple days ago. I haven't even gotten the red card and welcome kit yet. I've been going to a decent sized college town, but I've only been averaging around $100 a day (about 7 hours at a time) and have been questioning whether or not it's worth it. Will the red card make it more profitable? I'm surrounded by large cities I could travel to, but I don't want to do that if I'm only going to make $100 and having to pay $20-$30 in gas alone.
@billlawrence18992 жыл бұрын
Rigtht on! I have only been doing this on a hit or miss basis for a few months, but have arrived at much of the same conclusions. I love that he starts out with acceptance rate. At first I thought that is important. It's not. If you're a "top dasher", that only tells me you're losing money by taking too many sht orders. I don't give a rat's patoot for my acceptance rate. I'm not doing this for charity. If they stop sending me sht orders, I'd have a 100% rate, but they won't so I don't. I have a daily goal of $100 plus gas. I gas up on my way to my zone. It it takes $22 to fill up my 40MPG Chevy Spark, then after I make $22, I go to work to make $100. Then I can either go home or continue if I'm having a good day. If the number of miles exceeds the number of dollars, it's a "NO!" If it's under $4, it's a "NO"!. UNLESS it's an add-on for one additional mile. If it's to Taco Bell, it's a "NO"! bacause my local Taco Bell is drive through only lately and the line is usually over a half hour. There's more, but it's a learning curve. Happy Dashing!

Thanks for this video, today was my first day and after a couple of somewhat stressful hours I saw your video and help with a few questions. I have one question that I don’t have an answer too. If I’m on my way to a pick up restaurant on and area that I’m familiar with, can I take a shortcut or I have to stick to the directions?

Tried chasing peak pay twice.. once about 30 miles away, once in the next zone over.. ended up going home irritated both times
@Acefull-pl1iu2 жыл бұрын
Bro I just realized after all this time that peak pay is absolute trash. They have plenty of dashers out on a busy night to get all the orders but then they want to cover their own asses so they start paying peak pay and everybody and their broke ass mom is out on the road taking orders from dashers who are full-timers. It's sickening because it's like why the f*** would you offer incentive when you know damn well you don't need it? They don't give a f*** about what people make the only care about their bottom line and I hope the CEO is burning hell

I live in Metro Detroit. My issue with Doordash is I will start in the metro area and Doordash constantly tries to send me to Detroit for deliveries. Like 40 mile round trips to take and drive back to my starting area.

Do you typically go through the drive thru if available? I figured DD needed to go inside. I have not started DD.
@Therideshareguy Жыл бұрын
Often restaurants prefer delivery drivers to go inside. Sometimes restaurants will have designated parking spots for delivery drivers.

Give me a break set a goal of $150 to $225 a day if full-time. I'd have to be working 12 to 15 hours daily in my market to make that.

You can also make 2,500 grand as a dasher when you get the master software . Your question should be how to get the master software….

Amazing tips i am going to use them from now on. One question, my last dash was in a different zone from my usual.i was sitting for 1hour before one order came in i was parked in a hot zone i couldn't figure out why i dashed 3 hours but 1 hour i didn't get orders?
@ogawafamily59252 жыл бұрын
Try closing the app and opening again. Or pause dash and unpause. When u dont get orders in 10min
