Digital diocese online...wow...thought the same thing this weekend. I attended a different Catholic Church this weekend in the same diocese and became aware of other activities available to me via their bulletin. The activities were not listed in our bulletin. Made me sad 😕

The Orthodox Churches share with us Apostolic Succession and a valid priesthood. An Orthodox Liturgy is a valid celebration of the Sacrifice of the Mass [unlike any protestant service]. However they are schismatic, that is separated from us because of their non-acceptance of Papal authority.

He commanded clergy to share records of who their church members were, and the members of any underground churches they knew of, with the CCP. He ordered this for years, while the CCP has been rounding up Christians and putting them in prison camps, just like they did with the Uigurs and Falun Gong. Amnesty international, and Cardinal Zen have spoken of this. Vatican II said that the Romai Pontiff successor of St Peter when he is not speaking ex cathedral the statements and decisions made by him are to be held with a religious ascent of will and of mind, roughly speaking. Please help with this. See Lumen Gentium no. 165. Especially the last sentence of the paragraph; "in his manner of speaking". We all know how Francis speaks. Sermons at 30,000 feet, etc. Thank you.

5 things that Roman Catholicism gets wrong about the pope: 1) the term "pope" comes from the word "father." Jesus made it clear to His people to not call any earthly man one's father, because there is only one who is your Father which is in heaven. The Apostle Paul always made it clear that he was a mentor (example) to many of the brethren, for them to grow in their faith, but was humble enough to not take an office that would render one a title of Father (Pope). 2) In God's kingdom, throughout the entire Bible, the word "Rock" is always referred to God and Christ; never any man born of the corruptible seed of Adam, regardless of religious office or position. 3) the word "infallibility" can only be attributed to the God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit, and God's Holy word [the logos, the rhema, the Word of God who became flesh]). It can never be attributed to any man or woman born of the corruptible seed of Adam. 4) No one of God's people were ever mandated by the Holy Scriptures , or the Holy Spirit, to labour for world unity and peace among the world religions; for it is a spirit which is contrary to the Spirit of God. Jesus said, "Think not that I have come to send peace on the earth; for I have not come to send peace, but a sword....Matt.10:34-36. 5) No one of God's people were ever mandated by the Holy Scriptures, or the Holy Spirit, to co-labour with the world's governments and politics to help advance the cause of the gospel of the kingdom of God. Jesus said, "No man puts new wine into old wineskins; or else the new wine will burst the wineskins and be spilled, and the wineskins shall perish." Luke 5:37.

When Jesus said, ".....not to call any man on earth your father," He was referring to any man who was within any of the Synagogue offices.

The scene changes in Matthew 22, starting from verse 15, when the religious leaders began plotting together on how they might trap Jesus. This continues till the end of chapter 22. When chapter 23 begins, we see Jesus directing His words to the crowds and His disciples. He started His discourse with referring to the Pharisees (verse 2 through 12). Beginning in verse 13, Jesus directly addresses His words towards reprimanding the Pharisees with His eight woes.

@@dannisivoccia2712 If you have ever talked with anyone from seminary, whether pastor, priest, Rabbi, etc, they will tell you that accurate reading of Holy Scripture requires historical knowledge, cultural context, understanding of symbology and narrative acumen. Your pastor is likely to have read books that compliment the Bible in order to bring clarity to passages that are difficult to comprehend in English, because of the translations from Greek or Hebrew. That means he is either obtaining guidance from the Church Fathers, the Protestant Fathers, Mimodenes, or any number of scholars depending on the denomination. So, again, I ask: from which commentary about the Bible are you drawing what you call context?

I'd worship a Pope (if I thought it would get me something. Worship is a contractual relationship, after all.) Of course, I'm a pagan and a sorcerer. I actively worship Sri Mata Amritananda Mayi Devi on a daily basis (but she's a divine incarnation, so I guess it's not the same). Guys, love and worship aren't different. This is a failure of the English language, but you should do better.

Worship for Christians is not contractual, but covenantal. Instead of trading goods and services, we bind persons together in relationship permanently. Instead of mutual benefit, there is mutual giving.
