I’ve loved these vids with Gareth. The wedge matrix and now these 5 top tips. It’s not always the physical, but our prep and mindset can have as much or more affect on our game than our swing itself. Great stuff guys. Keep it coming!

Gentlemen, this is one of the best videos that you have produced, and I say this with the feeling that the bar is very high to begin with. The only disappointing part was that it ended. The amount of knowledge and insight that you are exposing us to is invaluable and frankly, difficult, if not impossible to find elsewhere. By having Gareth on you have given us Christmas early. Thank you.

Tee ball is immense. When ive got a reliable option, im going low; when i cant count on a functional tee shot, I might shoot 10 strokes higher. Spent the better part of one summers golf going from horrible to acceptable to nearly good at 0-5ft putts, which was also good for about a 3 shot permanent reduction in my index.

Such a high quality video. I think many of us focus on making big changes to get better when in reality, it's the small ones that make the biggest difference. I love the idea of getting a little better at all aspects and it paying off.

Excellent video content! Ian , You commented near the end that everyone wants quick improvement. We have become an instant gratification society to where most people don't want to put the work in necessary to make those gains. Minimal gains are the best as they are lasting. If it were easy everyone would be good at it! I appreciate you having Gareth on and his perspective compliments Ian and Matt so well. Thanks for what you bring to us!!

Gareth content is so valuable. Thank you to him for sharing his knowledge and for you guys at TXG to host him. Equipment is cool and all but this is the stuff that will make an impact on my game.
I'm confused about wedge strike position. During your discussion, you said the ideal strike point is groove 4, center of the club. But then Matt hit it on groove one or two, at the bottom of the club, and you said that's perfect. Where exactly are you supposed to hit the ball on the face?
@smkgolf3 жыл бұрын
They said no higher than 5, ideal for your pros is 3. Lower on the face is more forgiving than higher. I would much rather hit groove 1-2 than groove 5-6 consistently, more consistent distance & spin

Okay... so lets recap the 5 things to make you a better golfer. (1) hit the ball straighter off the tee. (2) hit your wedges properly, (3) sink more puts, (4) know how far you hit your irons & (5) Be fit and healthy... 😉 Got it!

Find a rhythm that allows you to swing smooth. Not slow, not fast. Smooth. As you continue to get physically stronger, your club speed will naturally increase. By finding a good rhythm, you’ll stay in balance more. That will lead to finding the middle of the club face more which means better ball striking, more distance, tighter dispersion, lower scores, & more fun.

If you came here, it was for the information they provide and not an audio hiccup. Please don't complain unless you're a rival golf content provider. If you are a rival content provider, step your game up...now sit down and pay attention to how it's done. EDIT: These CC are kinda funny.

@soldsold13 жыл бұрын
You just put the ball on the ruler at one end and putt along it. If the ball stays on the ruler the putt is straight, if it falls off left or right before it gets to the end of the ruler you are pushing or pulling the putt.

1- they get pay to play 2- they get free clubs and clothes 3- they almost never take penalty stroke for lost balls because tv camera or crowd will find it for them 4- they play on courses in perfect conditions ,if they were to play our courses they will marked the entire course as ' area under repair' 5- their driving range balls are better than the new balls we play on course. Our driving range balls look like the go thru shredder. And they wonder why we don't get better.
@maplesirup243 жыл бұрын
lol. I see a bunch of excuses. Pro's became pro's by growing up under many of the same conditions you golf in now. And yet they made to be pro's. You describe the "after" they made it conditions and not the before. How do these affect your putter face control? Controlling the low point of your swing? You own personal fitness? You don't get better because you carry these excuses as to why you can't get better and yet other people get better under those same conditions each and every day. But yes, the driving range ball is why you are not a better golfer. Somehow Lee Trevino became one of the greatest ball strikers of all time it hitting (and picking) those same range balls.
@stevecassidy90193 жыл бұрын
@@maplesirup24 I mean I agree that these are mostly excuses but to say that pros grew up golfing the local muni is just dumb. Theres a reason most of the golfers on tour were well off growing up. Most of the guys that make it grew up at a country club. Surprise, if you have more money you have better access to better instructors and facilities which are the things that will make you better. As well as the cost to travel for golf tournaments. Guys like Gareth don't teach for cheap.
