I kind of wonder if Ron had a point though during that chat in the chamber of secrets when he, Harry and Hermione went to visit Hagrid that first time after the slug incident. He had said that if wizards hadn’t married muggles then at some point wizards would’ve eventually died out. That would certainly make sense if wizards simply kept interbreeding within the same select group of families.

No he isn't, because if that was true Humans would have gone extinction long ago. We Humans are extremely inbred we are quite literally all related to each other. When people say that we are all brothers and sisters I doubt even they realize hiw genetically true that is, I some of us are brothers and sisters but every single one of use are at the very least all cousins. And if we Inbred muggles can continue to increase our population by billions without a problem I don't see why Wizards and Witches who's magical genetics is stronger than ours would have any problems doing the same thing.

@@Bryan198026 sophisticated technology yes, but medicine seriously? 😆 no muggle medicines can remotely compare to what magicals have. And neither muggle technology nor medicine can remotely do anything about how inbred we are. Unless of course we start Genetically modifying ourselves into a new species. 😆 not that would change anything because the same issue would persist in the end. As for inbreeding making a bunch of squibs, no one knows how squibs come about because most of them are even "purebloods" and of course their is the fact that they are extremely rare - Case in point the most inbred pureblood family we know of the Gaunts and yet they produced no squibs we know of - . Plus they still have Magical blood that eventually becomes dominant once more. How do you think muggleborns come about? Every last one of them is descended from a squib.
@catherinenadeau81562 жыл бұрын
If you look into some parts of history, you’ll found out that inbreeding actually happened in muggle and it shortened many lives. In royalties of different countries in some point, everyone was related. They kept marrying with their cousins to keep the money and power into the family. Many of these couple ended up not having any living child, not just because these children died of maladies but also because these ended up having genetic illnesses given by their parents. Where I live, there some genetic illnesses that are more frequent in some regions of my country because they were so isolated from everyone and everything when they were founded, that people inbred somewhat. So it is possible that the wizards would have died out if they kept inbreeding.

@@damianallen8377 Well... Maybe, just maybe because there were in voldemorts time only like 15 pureblood families left and now that many of the decendants of them has married muggleborns, halfbloods and muggles, their family trees have been ruined and I can say with certainty that there are only like 10 families left and many of them have no male decendants left to carry on the name, like the greengrass', the blacks, lestrange's, carrows, crouch's and many have been "ruined" like the longbottom, abbott, weasley, black, etc. many of them are also extinct, like the crouch's and the gaunts. a few of these families also have indirect heirs like Scorpius Malfoy continues on the house of black and the greengrass indirectly and some of them are illigitimate or not pureblood, like Delphini is both illigimate and she continues the black lineage and the gaunt lineage, indirectly of course since she has the riddle name even if she has a son, the blacks and gaunts will be extinct in male direct descendants unless she takes back one of the names which I doubt since she is 1. in azkaban and 2. very proud of having her fathers name from the looks of it (haven't watched the cursed child play, only read the summary of it and i've read up on all the characters on the harry potter wiki page) Teddy Lupin also indirectly continues the black lineage however, his grandmother was disowned and he is not pureblood meaning that his part of the family tree, going up to his mother are all disowned and not a part of the blacks as he, his parents and his maternal grandfather aren't pureblood.

5) He was not right about being remembered as a great wizard even greater than Dumbledor. He would actually be remembered as an evil, psychopathic wizard to be feared, but that was defeated by a boy named Harry Potter. And just because he thought he was right about the path he chose did not make him right nor great. 4) He was not right about defeating death. Even as he killed others and split his soul into seven horcruxes which he put curses around to hide from people, the splitting of his soul actually weakened him and made him vulnerable to death as each piece of the soul was weak without being part of the whole. And since the pieces of soul were embedded in inanimate objects, their only defense was the curses Voldemort put around them. Otherwise they were pretty easy to kill. Also cheating death by causing death of others does not defeat death at all. 3) He was not right about Wizards and Muggles not being able to coexist or that muggles wouldn't be able to understand magic. The fact that Wizards and muggles were marrying each other showed that Wizards and muggles could co-exist and the fact that certain muggles who were not pure blood Wizards at all, like Hermione, could do magic and learn about and understand magic showed that he was wrong about that too. Just because he was tired of hiding Wizards from muggles doesn't mean that the only solution to solve that is to kill off the muggles. Also, if Wizards have the ability over nature to make magic, what physical weapons could come against them? The only thing that might make the muggles win the war would be the shear number of them. 2) Was Harry Potter's eagerness to help others his weakness? It may have seemed like a weakness because he was able to be lured into danger by it, but as Harry Potter said when Voldemort tried to take over his body, that actually his love of his friends and their love for him was his greatest strength, and Voldemorts failure to understand love was one of Voldemort's greatest weaknesses and Harry Potter was able to overcome Voldemort with that. Even as Harry Potter sacrificed himself for his friends and loved ones, he was the one who actually defeated death, by being able to come back alive from it and defeat Voldemort. 1) Voldemort may have gotten it right that he was related to Salazar Slytheren, but was he actually doing the goal that Slytheren wanted to be achieved? The fact that the other wizard founders of Hogwarts didn't think anything of him being able to found a magic school with them and often had students sorted into his house showed that his plans might not have been that destructive, but that perhaps certain people distorted what he wanted to achieve into something twisted.

Harry didn't think he stood a chance against Voldimort in the graveyard. In that moment, he simply did not want to be remembered as having died a coward. I should also point out that his heroism didn't come from his belief that he was the chosen one to take Voldimort down, it was simply that he was naturally that kind of person who was willing to risk his life to help others. He didn't see himself as protected by fate at all, and honestly with Voldimort targeting him for death, he wasn't safe even if he didn't do all of that. Putting himself in harms way time and again actually helped to get him ready for what would eventually happen, so I don't see how it can be considered a weakness. I also don't agree that muggles and magical kind can't co-exist. The fact that there are people who are non-magical who know about them and, in some cases, live with them, proves that they can. There simply has to be a plan in place to introduce those who are magical to those who are not over time until it becomes common knowledge. It might also help if the muggles were able to get a few magical devices out of the deal that they could play around with since they can't actually use magic, themselves. Like any two cultures trying to co-exist, it simply takes time, understanding, and compromise to make it work. Just because they aren't ready right then and there, and very few efforts had been done to try to make it work with the ones having been attempted ending in failure, that doesn't mean it can't work. And no, Voldimort did not achieve immortality. As you said, and as we all know, immortality means you cannot die, not that you've become really tough to kill. He didn't even live longer than the average human lifespan. What he did was come close to being immortal, and actually it was foolish of him to make the horcruxes into the items he chose, because that made them easy to find. On top of that, he could have made his victims people who nobody knew about, and not drawn a lot of attention to himself with a huge army and a war. Voldimort was actually very stupid about his attempts at becoming immortal, if you ask me.

True, strategically Voldemort got five or some other ideas right but morally he was filthier than a cesspool. Perhaps Muggles as a whole will never accept wizards. The Secrecy statute in my mind is for the sake of Muggles, not wizards. It is for their peace of mind. Wizards just need to avoid showing magic to Muggles. They don't need to hide except to do magic. Blood purity is a false concept. A Muggle-born is just as magical as as pureblood. More wizards are Half-blood than anything else and I will submit that the influx of Muggle-borns is constantly refreshing the wizarding gene pool. The new ideas are healthy intellectually. Without this influx I don't think the wizarding gene pool would sustain itself. The wizards would die out. Voldemort was fatally flawed.

The idea was this: The theme was a way that muggles could gain magic as a side effect of something never done before. Essentially the idea is guided a little by D&D but essentially a group of wizards from america build a giant magic bomb and use it as a sort of terrorist attack against muggles. The result is a lot of people die in the attack but it has a strange effect on the survivors that had never been seen before as an event such as this had never happened. The muggles that survived slowly gain the ability to perform magic, this causes a huge uproar in the wizarding community as until this point it was believes that muggles were muggles and would never use magic and wizards were wizards and that was that. The reason for this is I figure something like a muggle gaining magic couldn't occur because of something small and it had to be something to cause it that had never been done before or someone would have tried it.

One thing I'm not sure if this fits on the list but is important to Voldemort. He killed Dumbledore. Voldemort may not have killed the headmaster directly, but he's the reason Dumbledore had to die. I don't believe people give Voldemort enough credit for this one, most likely due it being pretty different from the way the Dark Lord had in mind.

Dumbledore is already a walking dead upon putting on Tom's horcrux ring. It's only Dumbledore decided on when he himself would die. So Dumbledore's suicide is a result of Tom's death curse. His suicide could have been avoided if Harry Potter told the professor about Pettigrew's new hand.

Binns mentions that the school was searched by those who looked for it plenty of times. I guess some of these searches had a record in the library. From that point on, a ton of reading and great logic. Tom Riddle was known for both. I think someone who made records of the search actually got close, maybe even to the bathroom, but couldn't find the door, as that searcher wasn't a Parselmouth. Riddle, on the other hand, realized that Parseltongue is the key, as he knew it was an inherited ability and this is the only real distinct feature of Slytherin that could be passed down to descendants by blood. Having this ability himself, he knew where to speak it, and the door opened for him. Or, he explored the castle through and through, like a non-prankster Marauder, and discovered secret doors which have a magical, password-like lock on them (as Dumbledore mentions that such magic leaves traces possible to discover, and Tom certainly would have been able to notice them). He realized Parseltongue was the key, and tried it on all of them, one being the real entrance.

I really cant understand where the whole "immortality" thing comes from. What the horcrux is supposed to do is protect a part of your soul so when you die a bodily death, you can return. Well, humans die of old age. So do wizards. At best, each horcrux grants you an additional lifespan. Granted, you could find ways to prolong that lifespan, but still, a lifespan with an end it is.

5. I think Grindwald is better know in the continent, but in Britain that's definitely Voldemort. 4. He became megalomaniac that's was a mistake, if all his horcrux were insignificant objects scattered around the world, he wouldn't be defeated so easily. But he wanted the grand magical objects and gave them to their followers to guard instead of put in a secluded far away place. It was quite sad that the death of his mother shaped him so badly that it was the only thing he could think of. He was charming, powerful, intelligent, he could've been great, but he was too desperate to live forever that he didn't live at all. 3. True, but half-bloods are quite something, and inbreed doesn't help to keep a group from extinction. 2. True, Harry was kinda of a moron. 1. Salazar was another imbecile, his champion was a "filthy half-blood" as our lovely Bella likes to say.

If there was a war between Muggles and wizards, I don't think the mughals would win. Muggles fancy weapons could easily be stopped by Wizardry my opinion
@haydenscholze74522 жыл бұрын
Ok my option may be unpopular, but I generally don’t think muggles would necessary win against wizards. I feel people are heavily underestimating the power and more importantly the versatility that wizards have. I mean one massive thing that is overlook but very important. Is that even now with all the technology muggles have, they still cannot locate wizards, if they don’t want to be found. I mean imagine it being a war, how are you suppose to fight an enemy you cannot even find. Then there are things like barrier spells, such as the one used in hogwarts during the war. That spell was created by only like 10 above average witches. Yet it could resist the force of like at least 30 average missiles, and it is self repairing. Imagine if the wizard world was at war with muggles, even if by some miracle muggles identity their base of operations. Imagine the power of a shield barrier created and reinforced by like 500-1000 wizards. I honestly wouldn’t be shocked if it could resist nukes. This is not even taking into consideration the fact that most can teleport, control minds, see if people are lying to prevent spies. Then you have rare wizards that can see the future, allowing the wizarding world to prepare in advanced against attacks. And I know people are going bring up guns. Well yes guns currently pose a threat to a wizard if caught off guard. How long do you think it would take for them to develop colthing enchantments to protect against such things. Additionally every single one of them can mostly likely cast a reducto spell, which literally causes the object to breakdown and explode. So overall I think their is very much a strong probability that wizards could fight against muggles and win. However it is important to mention that this is under the assumption that the wizards are bing properly managed and they have sufficiently skilled leaders. Not necessarily all countries merging together, but at the very least they work together efficiently. And if you take into consideration increasingly powerful wizards and certain magic beasts, the muggles have no chance. I mean the dementors for example can literal suck out the soul of a muggle, instantly killing them. And the muggle won’t know what happened, as they be invisible to muggles. Or like power wizards join together to cast a unison fiend fire spell. What the fuck can muggles do against a living fire that can burn everything, while being unable to be extinguished by normal water. Aswell the fire can cover easily cover over 1km, and quickly expanded. See, when truly start think about it, muggles are honestly fucked if the wizards are organised and dedicated to muggles defeat. Like even just Grindelwalds group could potentially taken over a large part of the world, and found their own nation. This is assuming of course that they don’t gather more followers. If they gathered more supports, then they very much could have conquered the world, if the other wizards didn’t interfere.

Magneto made such a big deal about being a victim of the holocaust. BUUUUT when he became Magneto he didn't lift a finger for the Jewish community to aid them in any sense, not only that BUT he took on a almost hitler-like personality. To be honest the biggest fault Voldemort had was being completely ignorant of Muggle science. With a little bit of knowledge he could have manipulated muggles to send a rover to Mars & use the rover as a port key destination. On Mars he could have built a Martian Wizarding society with the aid of sympathizing muggles who understood why he wanted to take over the muggle world, but at the same time felt that he was being reckless. I think that plot would have been interesting because it would have made Harry potter into a hybrid of a fantasy & scifi and made people very angry when the Martian Nazi wizards get eradicated when all they just wanted to do was be left alone & in peace. Voldemort could have been teraforming mars & maintaining a spell that would eliminate radiation threats. I think that it would have been nutty to see Harry potter arriving at Mars to only find his Parents's killer doing something like gardening a rose garden or organizing a sports team like low-gravity guidditch as a hobby.
