The game of Basketball has been my passion since I was 5 years old. I grew up as a kid watching my dad's recorded VHS tapes of playoff games through the 70s and 80s, and collected all the Basketball cards. Something about the game and what it represents just hooked me from a very young age.
My love for the game only continues to grow as time goes on. I love studying and analyzing the game, with an unbiased perspective. Feel free to subscribe, follow me on social media, and celebrate this amazing game and it's rich history with me!
I post videos every week on NBA history, predictions, hypothetical scenarios and current NBA topics.

What are some things that NBA legends don't want you know?
@Homer-OJ-Simpson
@Homer-OJ-Simpson Жыл бұрын
Some of this is common knowledge but not talked about much: 1. Kobe was actually somewhat unpopular for a while. He was seen as a ball hog during shaq era and in the few years after and then the whole legal situation with sexual attack claim from an affair. It wasn’t until he had stopped being a ball hog and won rings without shaq that everything stated changing 2. Lebrons first two finals are some for the worst finals performances from a top star player. During the first finals he was already a top 3 star. During the 2nd finals he was already the top player for several years. 3. Last Dance already made it public but lots of people didn’t know how horrible of person jordan could be. 4. Stockton was a very dirty player similar to how Kobe was described in this video 5. Larry Bird might have been very similar to Jordan in how he treated his teammates. He was also a dirty player like Stockton 6. Kareem was unlikeable in the 70’s. Was considered cold. 7. Kareem and Wilt had a sort of friendship when Kareem was in high school and college. But nba Kareem became a social justice warrior in the black community but would say harsh things about Wilt. This stemmed from wilt seeming to prefer white women over black women and wilt not getting engaged in the civil rights movement of the 60’s and 70’s. 7. Best for last. Tony Parker was married with Eva Longoria. Parker and Eva would hang out with his former teammate Brent Barry and his wife in large part because Eva and Barry’s wife became good friends. Parker and Barry’s wife had an affair.

Massive Kobe fan here, and I remember the controversy calling Kobe a dirty player. I'd say Kobe had an evil streak between 2002-2008, a lot of off-court issues, beefing with Shaq, the court case, trade demands, etc. A total diva. He was the type of player you'd love to have on your team but hate him when he's playing against your team. Kobe matured after the 2008 season, in large part due to Pau Gasol. Pau & Kobe were like brothers, on and off-the-court. Pau was already a mellow-type of guy and I guess that rubbed off on Kobe

You're right. I do think Kobe's maturation started showing during the 07-08 season. He actually started to bond with his teammates off-court after being very standoffish for years.

Yep, I also think getting Phil back really helped, as Kobe had been kind of humbled by so much losing during the post-Shaq days. So getting Phil, getting Pau, and then I think beating Boston in 2010 was when Kobe finally got the chip off his shoulder. But you could see him maturing over the years, getting better at on court decisions. I will say, the feud with him and Shaq....that was on both of them. People forget how childish Shaq was being during that time.

To add some light to the Kareem vs Kent Benson incident, Benson had a reputation in college as an aggresive and trash talker enforcer and Kareem had a history on the NBA of being on the receiving end of cheap shots, elbows and punches. On that era, the referees allowed lots of contact under the boards, and that got out of hand very quickly with the Washington-Tomjanovich incident a few weeks later.
@Homer-OJ-Simpson

Shaq missed because he realized he would be charged with manslaughter if he connected.
@HorizonOfHope
@HorizonOfHope Жыл бұрын
Yeah, no joke, imagine if Shaq had connected. A single punch can knock you out, so you don’t brace a fall and your head hits the ground. And that’s from a normal person’s punch; Shaq was about 150kg at the time. I reckon it’s an actual possibility that Shaq could have killed him and a near certainty he would have at least given him a severe brain injury.

LeBron didn't do the dunk contest for the same reason he quit in the 2009 ECF and 2010 East semis. He didn't want to risk a resume-staining Finals loss to Kobe's Lakers as the league MVP. LeBron stat padded against Orlando to cover the fact that he failed to close out on roughly 187 Rashard Lewis 3's. In 2010, after one of his greatest games ever at Boston in Game 3 to take a 2-1 lead, LeBron basically laid down in Games 4, 5, and 6 as the Cavs dropped three straight. LeBron is the most calculated, selfish, legacy-obsessed narcissist in NBA history. I wouldn't have blamed LeBron for losing a potential 09 or 10 Finals against the Lakers. Kobe had more help than LeBron in 09 and 10. But LeBron is the only superstar in NBA history who will actually quit instead of risk failure.

@@thsu8 The Cavs in 08 during Boston first big 3 formation were one of the best defensive team as well during those time. That series against Boston was a lot closer than most remember. Despite what people will say about Bron's teammate during his Cavs day. The 08 Cavs put up a better fight than the Lakers did in the finals and never got blown out by 39 points.

LBJ has always been a liar and narc. When the man called himself the GOAT, lied about participating in the Dunk Contest, fooled the public into believing he was injured after getting swept, proclaimed himself the GOAT in 2016, tried to make the Rams SB parade about him and wanted the Lakers to be in it... we all know this
