Feeling hopeless from time to time is an unpleasant feeling - but it is normal. Especially when you feel like things in your life are out of your control, or you feel stuck in your current circumstance with no immediate solution. Although we can't stop ourselves from ever feeling hopeless, we can do several things to help us feel more happy and hopeful again when we do.

Hi Coach! Well, this is a timely video! As a Shifter, I know that I can remember a time when I didn't feel hopeless. I know this work works...but there are different seasons in life and now is a really rough one for me and with world events...it's a scary time but these steps can still help. Yesterday, I did a hot seat session with Julia so that checks off number 5 on my list. As well as talking to others too. I took my notes for those who would like to have this list. 1. Notice that your thoughts are not always truths 2. To remember a time when you didn't feel hopeless 3. To take a step 4. To think about things that are actually going well. 5. Find yourself someone to talk to.

Chris Digitalartist. Hello .thanks for sharing this list of things to keep in mind I can relate to this because I feel hopeless all the time I feel hopeless about my life right now and my past also my future I have no close friends only online friends I suffer from anxiety and depression I often feel lonely and emotional also isolated I realize that not everything I think is a truth I have thought about a time in my life when I didn't feel hopeless that was my past things wasn't the way they are for me now I felt good things was good I am working towards takeing the step towards getting into Therapy again I'm not able to think about what's going well at the moment lastly finding someone I can trust and who understands me knows how I'm feeling is important I have only 1 person who I can talk to about how I feel that I feel understand me thanks for sharing this list I appreciate this

@@nikkimckay860 Hi Nikki. You're very welcome. Thank you for sharing all of that. I am very sorry you have been feeling hopeless. This sounds incredibly difficult for you. Are you able to seek counseling? Remember always what a worthy and valued person you are. Some of your experiences sounds like what I am struggling with too. I only have online friends and well. It can be very lonely. I am sharing that so you don't feel alone. That is the common humanity.

When your brain brings back memories that relate to your current mindset, that's actually an amazing super power because it let's you remember what happened the last time you were in this situation.. For the most part that will help us use what we learned in the past to deal with the situation for the present. Too bad it works against us when we're hopeless.

Fellow shifter! I’ve been doing well and following the courses and I feel great most days and then I have a day like today when certain events occur and my brain likes to take them and run with them. I was spiraling downward in a horrible thought pattern and it felt easier to give into it rather than work through it like I’ve been working on. But I decided to watch this video and the first thing you said is they are just thoughts…and I started crying. Because you’re right. I know this. I’ve been learning but sometimes I need a reminder. So thank you ❤️

I have difficult thinking about a time when I was happy or remember a feeling of joy. I’ve identified an begun dealing with some major events that happened to me when I was a kid. In spite of these emotionally difficult events I have achieved many of the definitions of professional success - career, professional recognition and financial. I’ve been in therapy for 2 years yet hopelessness dominates. Hard to realize the foundation is being built.

I really wish that I was going through what you are describing. The trouble is that I am by nature a positive person and despite my positivity things always get worse and worse. I genuinely cannot catch a break, for instance, every time I get a new job, I genuinely have a positive outlook, and every time it turns out to be another abusive situation where they're only taking advantage of me and I still can't even support myself. I would love to climb out of this hole and I just can't figure out how.

Julia, if you could I'd really like to hear you touch on the topic of worrying for your loved ones. Like being afraid they might get hurt or have something bad happen to them, or that they might not be happy. Idk what it is but I find myself worrying about my loved ones a lot even though we all live in a safe country and I know nothing bad really happens anyway, and that tough times are just a part of life and like one if your videos says, it's not my responsibility. But that still doesn't stop the worry I guess it's like an inner child who just desperately wants all loved ones to feel good and be happy. I understand if this is too niche but if you have something to say about that I'd love to know!

Noise .... noise I cant control People Honk Locking their cars. I never can sleep. Ive been very sick. Stroke. Open heart surgery. Heart Failure. And they wake me up for years. My nerves are fried. Im severely traumatized. Noise just drips on me like acid and no one cares. I have no family.
