Heather, I recently saw your survey asking what type of content you should emphasize. Please, don't change anything! This is the type of information a lot of us need. The name of your channel is a Catholic mom's life. You can incorporate all aspects of your life be at home making, food, fashion etcetera all focused on being Catholic and how your faith affects each aspect of your life. Being Catholic is not just a religion, it is a way of life. You were so helpful to me when I was just coming into the church years ago. I searched for videos about mass and what to expect and your video of how to behave at a Catholic mass what to do was so incredibly helpful. One of the things that you said was for us to go up and receive that blessing when we were in formation to receive Holy Communion. I proudly went up with my arms crossed and thought of you every time.❤

Yes! I love this quote by St Padre Pio regarding gossip and it's helped me a lot. "When you gossip about a person it means that you have removed the person from your heart. But be aware, when you remove a man from your heart, Jesus also goes away from your heart with that man".

I love this video! I started implementing these more and more this year and noticed that a lot of my personality has changed, less gossiping, more Christ centered podcast, suddenly my tv habits changed, reading habits shifted, and then next thing ya know I’m serving my home more and more and slow to anger. Just filled with peace and it started with just these basic changes! Wonderful video than you!

Hi from a follower in Brazil! I found your channel through Pinterest, and this is the first video I’m watching - it’s absolutely amazing! These are things that might seem so obvious, but we often overlook them in our daily lives. Thank you for sharing, and may God bless you and your family! 💖

This is a very good list. Thank you for sharing. I'm shocked at the TV programs these days - frankly, I find them disgusting. It's hard to find anything decent on TV, so we rarely have it on. I'm also shocked at the way people dress and behave - especially very young children. Everything is hyper-sexualized. People call me a 'prude' and other names to shame me for being modest, but I don't let it bother me. Sticks and stones. I worry about what is pleasing to the Lord, not what is pleasing to them.

I so agree about TV and films nowadays. I often re-watch lovely things from the 1980s and 1990s, like the original “Anne of Green Gables” with Megan Fellows, and the 1995 version of “Pride and Prejudice” and other Jane Austen TV or film versions.

I am a woman, and I can't STAND gossip! It makes really angry. I also, as a Dane, think it is weird, that a "prom queen" is drizzled in attention/honor, when the math genius girl, who can REALLY change the world or environment, just gets ignored. It says a lot about how meritocracy STILL needs to gain foot in high school culture. Being a gifted student is a blessing from God.😊 I love your channel. Say hi to EVERYBODY, both at home and in your Catholic community. I'd love to have some Catholic American friends. Mega-hugs from Copenhagen, Denmark. 😃📿✝️🇩🇰

I usually stop gossip by asking the person who delivers the gossip " Is this something you would be able to say to N.N´s face?" If they hesitate I say, well do not tell it to me then. Gossipping is horrible and I really try to stay away from it at any cost. Thank you so much for your lovely and enlightening videos❤❤.

I really appreciate this! As my relationship with God has deepened I’ve found myself realizing the same thing with books and movies! I actually came across a quote in the Morning Offering the other day which goes with this! Here’s parts of it “Pastimes we engage in for necessay rest and relaxation should be both enjoyable and edifying. They should refresh us, but they should also encourage our Christian values -- or at least not discourage them.” And also “We need to avoid input that could be an occasion of sin for us or for others, and we need to find out what truly helps us get the rest and relaxation necessary to maintain a healthy emotional and physiological profile. Proper rest and entertainment are in the service of our life mission; they are not our goal. Christians don't live for the weekend; we live for loving Christ and building up his kingdom.”

I do agree with tv and movies being so hard to watch with your kids. You really have to be diligent on screening these things before you let your kids see them. I dress modestly and do think it’s important but I don’t agree that it’s my responsibility to keep a man virtuous. That’s just me and I know not everyone will agree with me. I really loved the story you shared about the gossiping. It’s so easy to say something negative, I’ve been there, but it takes a lot to shut it down and just be nice. This is a great video!

I couldn't agree more. It sadly seems that many women these days have forgotten how to blush. I especially appreciate how your videos talk about everyday issues and how they can either draw us closer to God or might push us away from him. Thumbs up to your princess analogy, too. Simple points like this stick in the mind and are easily digested. Bravo! 👏 👏

PS thank you for being brave and admitting to some choices or behaviors from the past that you no longer follow. I, too, was into The Real Housewives and you're right you know there's really nothing any edifying or wholesome about it now. In the beginning it wasn't too bad but just like you said it changed and we just absorbed the negativity and the foul nature like a sponge and sort of became immune. I will admit that now that I'm retired I find myself watching three soap operas a day. There is not one edifying wholesome thing on there and I could never imagine Jesus and our Blessed Mother watching along with me. You have helped me once again!❤

Heather--I love your list. I struggle with swearing. I only swear with one person. It's horrible, but it seems it the only way this person understands my message. I cannot believe I have resorted to swearing. I don't like it, but I don't know how else to get this person to listen or stop being a bully.
@M.L.E.85Күн бұрын
I am in total empathy with you on the swearing. It is an area with which I struggle. I heard recently from a noted Catholic apologist and author that when you are struggling with a serious sin to pray a rosary every day with that specific intent. Ask our Blessed Mother to pray for you and help you to stop swearing. As you are in that zone of meditating on the Life, Ministry and death of Christ and you think about how our sins put Jesus on that cross, there's something that I cannot explain that happens..... suffice to say mother Mary is helping me. It has not been even a full week and the results are amazing. I offer this to you my dear Catholic friend in the hopes that it will help you find relief, and what a relief it is, from this horrible habit. You mentioned that you don't know how to get a certain individual to stop being a bully without using abusive language. Not passing a judgement but using abusive language is being a bully yourself. Be the example of what a person made new in Christ is. Pray for the Holy Spirit to help you to have the right words and actions to help this individual. Pray for him or her. I say this purely out of love ,no condemnation.❤

It's not just the kids' movies we have to worry about. There was recently a movie out called "Conclave," which was supposed to be about the election of a pope. After reading a couple of reviews on Catholic websites, I learned it's anything BUT a Catholic movie. So, I stayed away from that one. Stay vigilant! Thanks, Heather. 👍

💯 on this topic! I've been trying to do all of this for many years (even before I converted)....I've always had others pick on me or call me "goody good", etc. The truth of it is ....the only one we should be concerned with is how God sees us and if what we do is pleasing to Him. I've also been praying to be more virtuous and praying to our blessed mother that she shows me how to love her son the way she does. What a beautiful role model we have in her divine heart! Thank you for posting this! I thoroughly enjoyed it ....I also watched TRH shows and then saw the same things in it you did. It is not godly and the Lord calls us to be better than all of that 🩷

I love this and I wholeheartedly agree with you on all these. From now on I am going to ask myself if Mother Mary would watch, read, or listen to the things that I am watching, reading, or listening to. That is excellent advice. Like you, I used to watch the Real Housewives and I also watched the soap opera The Young and the Restless and I can't imagine watching either of them now. Both were much tamer back then (10 years ago), but still not good ways to be spending my time. Thank you ❤

Dressing modestly at my age is not hard....as you get older, your body changes sooo much....I need to cover everything!! 😅 Alcohol is also harder to digest as we age...also no longer a problem. Don't get me wrong...I'm no prude, but at 56, life and these things get easier as you really aren't interested in trends and what everyone else is doing. God blees from Australia 🇦🇺

T.V. and movie dramas these days is almost like watching soft porn. Especially those geared to young women in college and twenties. If I want to sit down and watch anything for entertainment, it is usually true crime documentaries or medical shows like the old E.R. series or the Pitt- a new series with Noah Wyle. I've started wearing only skirts and dresses to Mass. If I wear pants, it must be with a longer tunic. Modesty is my new creed. This video is fantastic.
