The supercharger heat argument is stupid. You start to lose performance when a car overheats. This car does not overheat when driven on the street no matter how aggressive you drive it. This is the only car in the muscle car lineup that can run 10 straight consistent quarter mile times. Also funny you critique the interior of a car like this. People buy it for the engine, not the materials on the inside. Maybe a BMW 3 series is more your speed.

I've owned my GT-500 for about a year now, in the houston area. I hear your complaints, but most of them weren't made in good taste. Not trying to offend anyone, but you're paying for what you get. The car gives you the same performance as higher end german cars, for about half the price. The sacrifice they chose was the interior, which I'm sure the target audience has no problem with. If you want to luxuries, you have to spend the money. Lastly regarding the DCT: Yeah, it sucks, but buy a GT-350 if you want a solid manual car. Ford made it clear they didn't want to hold back the car's performance; that's why you're getting a transmission equipped to fight cars twice the price. The whole point of this car is to be the fastest car at it's standpoint, not to be the fun drivers car. That's the GT-350. The GT-500 is a great car, but not for everyone.
@Trevorr90

Exactly, I have a CFTP and I loved that Ford is trending away from drag strip/straight line speed. I've done the drag strip and straight line speed, its boring, and lasts 11 seconds.... Track driving is where it's at and it is MUCH more fun. Also, he mentioned that this car needs quarter panel vents/ fender vents. Really? This isn't need for speed heh.. The car already is perfectly balanced/planted. Ford created the fastest most track capable mustang ever, this car has so much power but is extremely predictable on the track. You can't achieve that with a manual transmission.

Sold my C7 Z06 & got GT 500. And I don't regret my decision. Here is why. My C7 Z07 had only 10k miles and went to the dealer 6 times due to transmission issues which is pretty common for C7s, overheating on top of that makes things pretty nasty. The fuel management system turns off 4 cylinders constantly unless you connect that special $200 dongle to get rid of it. I'll wait for the 2024 C8 Z06 production, if it's better than GT500, I'll get one without selling my GT500 because Ford won't be making any GT500s till at least 2026. So keep your car, don't hate it, remember what you've got now could be someone's dream.✌

I have this car and I love it and some of the faults are definitely subjective. I wish they put vents on the sides of fender flares as the gt350 has for sure. More Alcantara inside trim would have been lovely. I have the CFTP which in my opinion is the only way to go for this car I have driven one without it and you can 100 percent tell the difference in cornering and feel of the vehicle. I never experience loss of power but I don't live in Texas. The gas I would have added on things I hate, these cars literally waste gas like it's water but what can you do.

Definitely reasonable issues, but you can have all those things for another $50,000 if you like in a more expensive track car. The reason the Mustang has a reputation is cause it's "cheap power". Performance of a 911 GT3 at $100,000 instead of $180,000.
@AubreyHP
@AubreyHP Жыл бұрын
I agree, but the price for a Porsche is so much more in line with the quality and level of engineering that you get. At the end of the day it's a mustang. But it should be a Shelby.
@Gltokensp06
@Gltokensp06 Жыл бұрын
@@AubreyHP Hey, firstly thanks for making the video and I'm not here to argue with you, but I don't quite know what your comment means. If you wanted performance and top material and design quality, you have to pay much more for that. The GT500 is an all out performance machine that rivals cars that cost double. The interior reflects that and is where they saved money and thusly, you saved money. Sounds to me like you saw the brand "Shelby" and had misinterpretations about what that means. In the words of Carroll Shelby himself, "My name is Carroll Shelby, and performance is my business."
@AubreyHP
@AubreyHP Жыл бұрын
@Andrew Christian All Shelby's are mustangs but not all mustangs are Shelby's. And that's never been just because it has more power. It's the full package. And at 73k starting price, it should be a fully optioned mustang+ Shelby bits (performance/styling) just as it has been with every other Shelby before and after Ford's adoption of the Shelby name plate in 06. Just as a Porsche GT3 is a fully optioned 911 and more.
@bobbob-jw6zf
@bobbob-jw6zf Жыл бұрын
@@Gltokensp06 That's because they have no idea what they're talking about. The cheapest 911's start at over $100k. That's the baseline Porsche has to build from. Ford is starting with a sub-$30k platform and bringing this level of performance. You have to save money somewhere.
@Gltokensp06
@Gltokensp06 Жыл бұрын
@@bobbob-jw6zf I agree. I'm not sure if they expect Ford to completely redo the cars interior because it's a Shelby. Just like most manufacturers add different materials, trim, and logos, Ford does exactly that for Shelbys. The Mustang starts as a $30K rental car, so other than changing trim, seats, etc, there's not much Ford is going to do. Mustangs have never been and will never be luxury cars. In the Mustang community, there's a saying that when you buy a Mustang, you're paying for the engine and there happens to be a car attached. The $73k 760 HP Mustang reflects exactly that.

HPJ performance does a manual transmission retrofit. Works great I had it done to mine, they even do software so you have all the functions. If you think those tires are wide try the Shelby American widebody package. Remove the rain gaurd tray will increase the airflow and help with cooling for starters. I look at a stock vehicle as a starting point to improve on the factory short comings. The factory is trying to make a profit no go all out pushing it to the limit. I've never left any vehicle I've owned stock, it's half done that's just my opinion. As for the alcatara I hate that crap, easily gets dirty and hard to keep clean. Many aftermarket companies make carbon fiber steering wheels, looks and feels a lot better too.

@@ST_DCT You understand what I'm saying, the factory leaves a lot of room for improvement. With the aftermarket and tuner companies you can take the car to a whole new level of excitement. @@deathscythehell7937 My thoughts exactly, some people do not have realistic expectations either, they expect exotic car performance, fit & finish for the price of a top of the line pickup…I recall them saying they were expecting more from Ford’s flagship model, I guess they never heard of the GT. People that expect instant gratification with a vehicle, had better dig deep to find their version of “perfection” off the lot

Without a Heat Sheild, and to mount it so Close to the engine block, which shouldn't get to 250+.. Thus, anything with a Turbo is a Scam 2 engine replacements be 60K miles. At the 3 engine no reimbursement for Rental for 2 months... Oh yeah that means you can afford this. I agree the Worse thing about the GT500 than a GT350 or a Mach1 Handling Pack, because of the Automatic Paddle Shifter, which makes me Sleepy on long Road Trips. I was Offered a GT500 and I told the Sales guy it could cost $20,000 less than the Mach1 Handling Pack, and the GT500 could have twice the Horse Power.. it is less valuable to me than anything with the 3rd Pedal Manual Transmission.. I bought the Best car even better than Saleen or Shelby America, because there Product Starts Life as a Base Mustang GT. White my 2022 Roush Mustang is an Up-tuned Ford Mach1 Handling Package. It has the Rev-Match (No Lift Shift on the Accelerator Pedal ) Tremec 6-Speed Manual Transmission. MagneRide Suspension, and no Matter how Hard you take a Corner it Lean or it won't Dip under Hard Braking. It also has Intercooled Limited Slip Rear Torsen Differential ( same one in Your GT500 Differential. I had recently Opened her up in the Canyons and She Drives Like a Dream. Its White and Traffic Authorities don't look at it I had the Blac EcoTragic and they were all over it wanting to find a Reason to pull me over. 👨🏻👍🏻🏎🏎🏁🏁🚩🚩🌲🌲⛰⛰

I believe your criticism is either superficial or misplaced. You also fail to consider value for the dollar, a metric by which the GT500 is the King. Watch some of the reviews by excellent European commentators such Henry Catchpole. They love this car. As for heat soak, Ford has stated the engine can deliver full power under any ambient temperature provided the car is moving at or above 40 mph. If you are stuck in slow moving traffic you are not demanding 760 hp and are therefore burning comparatively little fuel and generating very little heat. As others have pointed out, the Tremec DCT, which is first rate, is not an automatic transmission in the conventional sense. I own a GT350 and have a GT500 on order with a late September build. A few people have asked if I stepped up to the GT500 because I was not satisfied with the GT350. Not at all. I ordered the GT500 because I am so pleased with the GT350. I will keep both vehicles.

I personally wouldn’t mind the ford bargain bin parts interior if the fucking dealerships didn’t mark the MSRP up by almost $20,000 - $30,000. When you buy a mustang GT500 for actual MSRP, the cheap looking interior space is whatever, because you’re buying this for the performance anyways. But when you’re spending luxury German car money because of dealer markups, that’s when you have to take a moment to pause on buying this car.
@AubreyHP
@AubreyHP Жыл бұрын
The Markups are outrageous. Being I (H.P.) worked in a few dealer groups that sold Limited run vehicles I was proud that we undercut every dealer by just selling at msrp+incentives, + tint and door edge guards (we'd discount those a bit if we had to). I think its time to correct dealer groups actions a bit. But another reason why we prefer to buy preowned.

Have to admit ford don't do good job when it comes to the interior of their signature cars , when your paying 150 thousand for a car , the interior should match the price . Example , here in Australia you had Ford with the GT and Holden had the commodore both top end muscle cars , the Interior of the GT was like that of a normal Ford the only difference was the GT badge , on the dash , but the commodores interior was way more classy , just saying

Crap dude your too picky.That car is amazing.The only thing I dont like the color you picked I liked the Burgundy metallic paint color.What are you talking about that transmission has full Manuel mode and padel shifters on the steering wheel.I also would get polished aluminum rims or Chrome aftermarket rims for it and put cool neon lights under it.
