As someone who has owned has a 350r and gt500 cftp. I am a track rat. I like gt350 and gt350r's more than a gt500 cftp, oh sure gt500s have way more power but they are 300 to 400 pounds heavier meaning a gt350r will get more speed in the corners. 2 other reason as to why I sold my gt500, a gt350r will get around 6 mpg flat out a gt500 will get 3 or 4. What this means is a gt500 has like around 40 minutes before empty, point being you can't do 2 full 20 minute sessions while the gt350r can do over a hour of track time before having to run to a gas station. Last reason is a lot of tracks have sound limits and a gt500 in quiet mode flat out will get move 99 Decibel at 50 feet on a cloudy day. This means a lot of tracks you can't take your GT500 too on a cloudy day with low cloud cover.

Why do people prefer the manual over the 10 speed??
@dankmemer27743 жыл бұрын
@@rauljrlara9994 generally speaking, enthusiasts of automobiles prefer to be able to shift their own gear in the name of driver involvement even at the expense of speed. The 10 speed will nail shifts every time even under rough driving because that is what it was made to do. It is more rewarding when drivers are able to nail shifts entirely on their own in rough driving because it is something that takes a lot of practice and failures. Also because there aren’t very many cars that offer manual transmissions like before, and even cars that traditionally offer manual transmissions are slowly taking the manuals away in newer releases. I feel like when people are denied something, or told they cannot have some things, it triggers their feeling of wanting to more openly and actively obtain said things.
@CaptainAlex695 ай бұрын
@@rauljrlara9994 the GT500 doesn't come with a 10 speed. it's a 7 speed dual clutch automatic transmission. but, you need to learn to drive manual and experience it to truly see why it's better.

Great review of these two cars. I own a 2019 Bullitt. (I loved the retro styling and overall power and driving feel plus the price was much better for me.). I often think about trading but I’m not a track or drag racing type. For just fun cruising around town and general comfort, I think the GT500 (base version) makes more sense. However, I’ve never driven the GT500 or Gt350R. I have driven the Base GT350. My biggest issue is the money factor. With the current supply issues, pricing has gone through the roof. Who knows what the future holds. Right now I’m thinking about trading to a new M2 especially that new hot hatch model! I’m also looking at the new Nissan Z? If you didn’t own the R now what would you buy? Probably bad time to buy anything; but trading a mint used Bullitt for some thing new might be ok? Porsche Cayman or New M2?

I have a 2019 GT350 and despite the obvious power difference, I wouldn't pick the GT500 over it. The flatplane crank exhaust note, manual transmission, and 8250 RPM red line make the car super special. Really needs to be experienced first hand.
