I am from Puerto Rico and you haven't see the Island,you guys just went to San Juan;next time try to visit northwest of the island and you will find better prices on the food, souvenirs, hotels,etc.

So just some friendly advice for her viewers- don't go to Puerto Rico with comparisons to Mexico (or other countries from Latin America) in your mind. It has been a US territory for a long time and there is a lot of back and forth between Puerto Ricans on the mainland and those who live on the island which of course influences the culture. If you've been to other Caribbean islands that might be a better comparison. Also due to the way goods are imported into Puerto Rico items will definitely not be cheaper than the mainland so make sure you're well funded the way you would be on any other vacation in the US.

It all depends what part of Puerto rico you went the country side is way more cheaper then the capital in San Juan you pay double the price on some things.

You are the first female muslim Ethiopian perspective of PR that I have ever heard about. And that by itself carries a good deal of weight. LMAO on your last point! So true about spending more when you go to Puerto Rico you have to you absolutely have to come out of the tourist District stay away from San Juan there's affordable food everywhere great wonderful local restaurants but unfortunately things are marked up because we are a colony and the United States to transport Goods taxes Puerto Rico like crazy

Please don't take offence to this. Yes, you are absolutely beautiful. Usually when I meet or see someone from Africa that has a striking beauty or just something that sets them apart, I usually come to find out they're Ethiopian. They have this mystic about them. Yo no se que, royalty maybe. I live on the mainland, so if it stops me and gets my attention, def in PR. Oh and I don't want anyone getting scared away because of prices. You undoubtedly went to tourist spots. If you decide to visit again, try to find a chat buddy that can recommend some great places to eat WITHOUT PORK lol.

I just wanted to state that when you said that it was more expensive than you thought that’s because Puerto Rico transports most of its food from the states, and they also need to buy the ships from the USA to ship the food which is the food is a little more expensive than you thought😅
