Many of us ALIEN fans are very familiar with these, however the note about the eyes is wrong. To quote Giger: "Ridley and I convinced the producers to remove its eyes because it was more dangerous when you never know where it's looking."

No eyes is a very good creature design tactic for the horror genre

Jesus, tell us something we don't know! How about this one: watch the beginning of Aliens. When the salvage crew are attempting to enter you can see Ripleys gun still trapped at the bottom of the door. James Cameron is obviously a man obsessed with detail.

The part of the film where John Hurt is on the table and the alien is about come out is the very first shots made and that is where the cast got a taste of what the film was all about. Plus it is said it was done all in one shot. Miss Cartwright part was cut out because she was in the path where the blood was going to spray. After that she covered in the blood and all that could be seen was her shoes as she was knocked to the floor.

Giger was adamant about the Xeno's head being translucent with a human-like skull inside, with eye-holes and everything. He even complained about how, when James Cameron neglected Giger in the sequel, the result was xenomorphs with opaque black tops. The Xeno is not blind. His eyes weren't made obvious because being hunted by something that you can't tell where it's looking is more frightening. And the sheep intestines were actually in the facehugger's jump scene, by the way.

Everyone mentions that The Alien doesn't have eyes. Is it possible that the top of it's head, ( the smooth dome in this case), functions like one big sensory organ?A big eye so to speak, maybe "seeing " body heat or movement and relaying as "sight" to it's brain...hmmm..?

I remember many people complaining about Covanent saying it takes for ever to see the Alien. This was over an hour and only has 4 minutes of screen time lol. Alien was ofcourse the a far superior movie but that argument is invalid

1. Yes, caught the first time. 2. No but not surprised. 3. Did not know and wish I didn't now. 4. Hmm. Geiger's early works did have eyes, methinks. 5. How is this fact possibly anything that "might have been missed"? Love the channel but only the first even has a pale glimmer of reflecting the promise of the near-clickbait title. Careful. Sacred Aliens ground here! (Plus kinda snarky this eve so time to get off the net! I iz so perfeck.)
