For an android, "being useful" and "purpose", means everything. Though she could no longer achieve her purpose, she was able to help the Facehugger achieve it's life goal. If you notice, the Facehugger was so old, it could barely even fight and had to be placed on the host. Helping the Facehugger gave her a reason to keep going. When she looked up at the Xenomorph, she was prepared for whatever happened next, taking some satisfaction in knowing she created something that would be useful for it's species.

AvP Extinction bestiary had a pretty cool explanation. Since the facehugger doesn't eat or sleep, it must actually consume itself internally for energy (like some species of insect who simply spawn to reproduce then die off). That's why it was very cool that she mentioned that it was very good at conserving energy.

The theme subversion of corporate disenfranchisement to religious disenfranchisement was timely and done really well. Ridley's work with David feels like he's getting the play with the ideas he didnt get to in the Blade Runner series. If you want mindless horror those movies arent for you but if you want something to chew on these are perfect. I'd say this short film is probably the best out of the 6 we got, this one actually played with an idea instead of leaning on solely visuals and callbacks to other movies.

I've let this one sink in ... I really like it. ! MAJOR SPOILER WARNING ! When she first talked, Hope sounded like a bad actress, not putting enough emotion into her voice. But - it's only an amateur film ... so I forgave it. And I also asked questions of the writers ... why was this girl not allowed to escape with the others? Was it really necessary for someone to remain on the ship? Yes it was. She is an android ... that's why she had an overly calm voice, and was able to fix all sorts of technical things on the ship with no specialist training. There is also a cruel logic, where she values her new friend so much that she's willing to die so that it may live on! .. but ... a pet facehugger! :) That's just awesome! :) Yes ... out of all of them, this one wins in a strong field.

This is something unexplored to consider a face hugger as a potential friend. Even crazier to see that a face hugger has a little personality of sorts. A malfunctioning droid pondering its own mortality. Even though shown in the alien franchise a a glicth within the droids who acted similar at some point, it really is a reflection that WU created perfect Ai that not only did its job as a crew assistant but also questioned life and what living is really is. Believe it or not (Ash, Bishop, Bishop 2, Annalee Call, David, and David 2 were all perfect). And finally a xenomorph born into existence to share a space with a dying android.....This makes you wonder if the xenomorph is smart enough to disengage from trying to kill the droid being that it was derived from a human host....all it has ever seen is the droid so I wonder what really happens next....Well done..great job guys!

@@taz24787 Despite what you said, the facehugger definitely exhibited some character as it what literally sit with the droid for what seems to be a really great amount of time. If it were just instinctive traits at play it would have performed some intrusive actions characterized by most face huggers which is to attach to anything moving and impregnate any host to assure the survival of the species. That facehugger exhibited patience, thought and decision making of some type. Also the primary reason for the droids behavior by way of the "Alone story was that 458 day stent did take a toll as said by the droid itself with whom referenced that it was told it would be picked up and saved. It also states that they didn't make parts for it anymore, expressing a sense of being obsolete. The droid began to anticipate and reflected deep thoughts about death and those thoughts materialized into actions of self preservation for both the droid and the facehugger. Weyland Utani strikes again with it's mission by any means to get a xenomorph specimen back to earth or wherever it's bases are. Remember the rules my friend. The only director that really gets it in my opinion, that gets what makes Alien scary. Instead of a dozen forgettable characters, it's kept simple. I bonded more with her/it in twelve minutes than with any characters in 5 hours of prequelness.

If only they ‘got it’ in regards to how an AI would think. :) Would have been s lot better with a human character driven half-insane, Golic-style, by isolation.
@Zoraste5 жыл бұрын
Except that wouldn't work, at all. The facehugger would have targeted and implanted a human in seconds.

Even the soundtrack is similar to the one from the original Alien. 👍🏻👍🏻

Very much in line with Ridley Scotts sequels. Namely an AI film masquerading as an Alien film.

I love the idea of an Android being the best weapon against the Xeno morph. It’s just logical. Android marines or assassins would be a great idea. Or even workers.

Was supposed to be a scene in resurrection of a facehugger finding call after she was shot, put a digit in her nose to check for breathing then scurries off, never filmed

I like the story of the friendship developed between the white blooded robot and the alien monster here. For the low budget and merely 12 minutes movie, it did OK level visuals.

Well done. Really well made. These KZbin shorts are gonna end up giving Hollywood a run for their money one of these days! Just need some feature length films... finally the public can see stories WE WANT to see instead of what Hollyweird wants us to see. Keep up the great work!

I am wondering tho: would the xenomorph spare her? We know that they can kill androids. But would it be a thing like the lil Protomorph and David? Or no consideration? I believe that Xenomorph have a perticular memory mentioned in Ressurection. So would it kill her bzcause it forgot about her? Or would it spare her because A) It remember that she's not alive or B) there is some care? Hardly what happened, but eh, it's still a possibility.
