Thank you this really helped with my confidence I played really well last weekend so close to getting my clean sheet unfortunately my defender made a howler and I did not get it. I had a lot of big saves and my coach even was talking to me about higher academies I was very excited. A day later I got a terrible virus and I have been out for a week and I am missing my match today. This really helped with my confidence thank you so much and happy late new year!

Hi Kristian, great video. You made me think differently about goalkeeping in a good way😁. But I still feel like the comparing is stuck with me, and I know that I should only focus on myself and compete against myself only, but it just happens. 2 years ago, I felt I was the best goalkeeper in my age, and everyone said that too, but now I am just an average goalkeeper who fights through it.
@GroundGloryGoalkeeping4 күн бұрын
Hey man 😊 I know exactly how this feels because when I was growing up, I was the biggest talent in the country but then I had a few years where I really doubted myself and my mind played tricks on me. This is also why I never became a pro, I didn't have the mindset. But I kept working hard (even without confidence or believing I was anything) and after a few year when I was around 23 something finally clicked in me. And I have now gone on to have a fine career in my country. Of course, you can come a lot longer than I did. But if you really want to make, you have to shift your mindset into believing that you STILL are the best (without being arrogant) and work HARD - every day. I'd dive into visualization and positive self-talk, this was for me the most important tools to help me become as confident I am today 😊

Hey Kristian, thanks to your tutorials, I slowly eased into making really good low dive saves! I am slowly progressing to making high dives but I think an issue that causes my progress to slow down is my reaction time. For eg, when the striker kicks the ball, sometimes I may be slow to react and not be able to dive. Another example is when I can react fast enough but the power step just takes too long(for some reason). Therefore I request that u make a video about reaction time. Thanks!
@GroundGloryGoalkeeping2 күн бұрын
Hey buddy, I answered you on your other comment. But I'll make a video about reaction time, no worries 💪 And for your powerstep: Taking a PS is not always possible. Sometimes, you have to set off directly and other times taking a step with your diving foot towards your standing foot and then set off is the right move 👍
@Brawlerno.2Mlbb2 күн бұрын
@GroundGloryGoalkeeping thank you! It's amazing to look back how I started from diving on my bed and watching your tutorials to becoming a respected goalkeeper. Thanks for your help!

Good advice especially as a parent of two young keepers. I have been telling my boys that training in old gloves helps improve their handling so it’s great to hear it from you as they listen to you more than me! Ps His training course is excellent and worth the money.
@GroundGloryGoalkeeping5 күн бұрын
Thank you buddy 🙏 Thanks for all your support. I love helping your boys 🙏 And yes, having "too good" gloves can actually stall your progress. But of course, having saod that... For matches and when you want to impress someone, good gloves are obviously a lot better than older ones both for confidence and actually catching the ball 😊

Hey dude, i'm a teenage goalkeeper and I excel at making low dives and stop low balls. But for high balls, I always concede them even in a distance considered far. I think the issue is my timing. My teammates got upset at that, so how can I improve my jumping and timing and save high balls?

Hi im an eleven year old that will go to a tournament soon any tips please?
@GroundGloryGoalkeepingКүн бұрын
Hey there! That’s awesome you have a tournament coming up - best of luck! Here are some tips to help you perform at your best: Prepare Mentally: Stay positive and confident. Focus on what you’ve been practicing and trust your skills. Remind yourself that every save counts, even if you make mistakes - just move on quickly! Hydration and Nutrition: Drink plenty of water leading up to the tournament and eat balanced meals with carbs for energy. Avoid heavy or sugary foods before the games. Warm-Up Well: A good warm-up is key! Get your hands, feet, and reflexes ready with simple drills like catching, diving, and footwork. It will help calm your nerves too. Stay Communicative: Talk to your teammates during the game-let them know where to position themselves and what you see from the goal. Positioning is Key: Always stay centered in the goal and adjust your position based on the ball's location to cover your angles. Stay Focused: Don’t worry about the score - just take it one save at a time. Even small saves can make a big difference. Most importantly, enjoy the experience and have fun! Tournaments are a great chance to learn and grow. You’ve got this! 🧤⚽💪

@@GroundGloryGoalkeeping I understand, so when I dive to stop a shot, should I punch the ball or put my palm in front of it? And my coach tells me to keep my hand tight, what does that mean and how do I do it?
@vibremaster2395 күн бұрын
@RANDOMEDI 6:01TZ-7706 Use ur palm. It cushions the shot taking the stimg out of it and is good for the hold. Punching is good for crosses when catching isn't an option If u are gonna punch punch away from players Hands tight I think means to keep them close together In a W shape so it doesn't spill or go through
@GroundGloryGoalkeeping5 күн бұрын
Hey man. When you're diving, you should not try and punch the ball with your first. If you want it to go far away, you should aim to use the wrists (I don't know what it's called). Your coach wants your hands to be tight because right now, they're probably a bit sloppy and when your hands are sloppy, the ball will go right through your hands.
