FANTASTIC MATE !!! you seem to be a rather patient ,caring man... You aren't drilling new players or intimidating to young folks... I've played thrash, from its inception... You give em something tangible... Basic stuff THAT SOUNDS GREAT... This I believe to be, particularly with thrash metal is what puts young people off - As we use maximum or near max gain/distortion- it creates a lot of noise...which over time, you learn to "manage" through damping and muting on and off, back and forth,up and down... And you aren't pumping heads with the rather intense,at times, pretty advanced jargon commonly used by THRASHEADS 🏴☠️🏴☠️🏴☠️ ... I am humbled by your "casual, laidback " delivery , descriptives, plus the showing- again in a "steady" manner of the fingerings on the fretboard, and again particularly for THRASH, the all mighty picking and palm muting..... LOVE YOUR WORK MY GOOD MAN...In ending my blurb of cognitive dross - IF YOU ARE A BEGINNER..INTO METAL, ESPECIALLY THRASH OR EVEN MORE EXTREME FORMS OF METAL- BUY AN ELECTRIC GTR AND A SMALL COMBO WITH BUILT IN GAIN/DISTORTION ETC... TOO MANY PEOPLE, AND I CAN'T BLAME EM, WANT,OR THINK YOU MUST START ON AN ACOUSTIC AND"WORK UP" TO AN ELECTRIC...AND LEARN HEAPS OF CHORDS (YOU'LL NEVER USE 90%OF EM, LEARN THEM LATER) ACOUSTIC GUITARS PUT MASSIVE STRAIN ON YOUR FRETTING HAND DUE TO THE STRAIGHT UP AWKWARD ANGLES...AND THE BODIES ARE THICK- THE LAST THING YOU NEED FOR METAL... ELECTRIC GUITARS are half the thickness, have cutaways specially for ease of access to the high end of the fretboard, for leads more so... AND LISTEN TO THIS GOOD MAN.... nothing worse than teachers who are hyper, talking off topic, throwing techniques at you like a ninja star..... AHOY 🎸🎸🎸🏴☠️🏴☠️🏴☠️🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🦘🦘🦘 and THRASH HARD🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻

Can I use tritones in thrash I noticed on the e minor pentatonic there are 3 tritones on the 6 th and 12 th fret on the e bass string, also on open e and a sharp on a string. Though not using plectrum using my fingers, developing a technique for up and down strokes. Using guitar rig 6 Rammstein preset, with metal super strat washburn x40.

Dude there’s no right or wrong way. Try different things and see what comes out. It has to sound good to you at the end of the day

Hey Jason, I'm loving the learning from you bro', I must say that I personally picked up on a 'Kill em All" vibe at the start of this one, I may be alone on this, but I was playing really slow at first and found myself hearing the patterns to a lot of old school thrash... Guess you can't hide inspiration and who wants to, personally I find that it only takes a slight variation in cadence's, perhaps key too! Damn I am so glad I found your channel mate, I've been practicing at least three times a day, hour and a half a piece, dude you've answered all the greenhorn questions I'd have been to proud to ask when I was younger, something to be said for being older man, I'm learning in proportion to the amount of effort I put in, which I didn't achieve when I was a youngin'... Cheers again mate.

You nailed it with the effort comment, dude! At the end of the day, it's all about how much we put in! Even though I've played consistently over the years, I wasted most of my 20s so I can relate. I certainly could have taken music more seriously back then. Making up for all of that now x10 (and have been for quite some time...I'm an older dude now!)

I practice every day for a few hours. I have serious hard callous on my left finger tips. They roll off the strings as I'm playing or get hung up. I took a block of wood and put sand paper 600 grit to sand down my callouss it works to a degree... Enough to jam without rolling off the strings lol. 🤘

Nice videos man! Could you make a tutorial about blackened thrash ( ex: Deathhammer, Hellish Crossfire, early Destruction) where you'd explain what scales and intervals they use and how to sound like that ?
