Thanks for posting this video. I've been performing these rites for some time now. However, this video, by slowly demonstrating and explaining the movements , allowed me to see how I could switch down to an intermediate version when a particular rite was uncomfortable at times.( I am nearing 76 years old). And it was also helpful to see the full ( advanced) versions too, where I could see how to improve the movements I have been practising.

It is easier and more efficient, to spin, if you pivot on one leg (like a top), rather than stepping around. I think the in and out breath is supposed to be at the same time as the movement. Isn't there a standing resting breathing, standing with hands on hips, feet apart, between each rite?

Great video Tim. Being an unfit oldie it’s good to have these beginner options especially for Rite number 5. I really struggled with that but have advanced somewhat in the last week or so. Also number one I can now do with straight legs. In fact I can do a lot of things after a few weeks of doing the rites that I couldn’t do before. Like child’s pose caused me intense pain now no problem 😉. Thanks again.

Hi Tim, I just found your channel and video, thank you so much for the explanations :). I have been practicing the Rites and love them but Rite 4 I find difficult - I reckon I have short arms (or very tight shoulders more like it) as I cannot lift myself up from floor level nor go back down, my feet move and I strained my wrist trying to do this last week...so I have been using a Yoga block under each hand so I can get up and I love it because it feels so good! Is this cheating do you think?

My brother! I am just discovering you and your content. I am learning so much! Thank you. Thank you. You might have been the one who turned me onto these movements. I bought the book and I am on week 2. I’m planning on taking your course as well. Here is my question: clearly humans will be humans and immediately started changing and arguing about dogma. I get it. But when I read the OG text it specifically calls out NOT taking cold showers after these exercises or you “erase” the work you have done on speeding up your vortices. I LOVE (sometime hate) my morning cold shower (It’s chicago wintertime now btw). I’m wondering what you thought about Mr Bradford’s meaning and thought behind this? It might be hubris but I think we understand more about the body and the benefits outweigh the “risk”. You got thoughts?

Hi. I learned to do this from the official website. Saying that it is still hard to tell if you are doing them perfectly. I am only up to watching no 3 but am going to go ahead and make on note- on your video but I noticed that I do number 2 different than you. After or simultaneously when I lift the legs in no 2, I also flex my neck up to look in direction of my knees. You kinda do this except you keep your neck stiff and up the whole time while the lower body is doing the repetition. It seems to make more sense to me since we are working the spinal vortexes, that at least once advanced you should raise and lower the upper back/and flex neck with each leg raise, rather than keep it flexed and up the whole time. What do you think?
@Timvandervliet4 жыл бұрын
I have different versions. The original way, like you do, is explained too. But for many people with neck problems this is too intense. So i have made some adjustments for people who have physical problems. Can you share the official website? How can there be an official website? 🙏🏻

Hey greeting people. I have a question.. may be a bit stupid but I'll ask it anyway. When trying to progress up to the 21 reps per rite, if i broke it down in 2 sessions, is it advised to do how much ever reps you're starting at say for example i did 13 reps for each rite in the morning, do i do the same 13 again in the evening? Or do i just do the 8 reps per rite to complete the 21 reps. Hope I'm not too confusing. 🤦🏽♂️

Thanks! One question I struggle with quite a bit since reading the book: on page 25 it states rather strongly that "you must NEVER take a shower, tub or wet towel bath which is cold enough to chill you even the slightest internally. If you do, you will have undone all the good you have gained from performing the Five Rites." - As you can imagine, for someone who does WHM and daily cold exposure, this poses a bit of a conundrum. Does this mean you don't get the benefits if you combine them? Should we do the cold exposure first and use that as a loophole? (since the text talks about what you do after doing the rites). Should we just ignore this paragraph even though it states a quite strong opinion on the matter? Do you have any thoughts on this Tim? How do you combine this with cold exposure in your daily routines?
@Timvandervliet4 жыл бұрын
I completely ignore this info. It is in Ayurveda too. Science and my feelings show exactly the opposite. Hope this calms your mind? Ancient doesn’t mean always right. I follow my feeling and i always end my shower cold. Funny enough i haven’t seen this info either. Like i blocked the words. Page 25? Can you send me the link of your version? In my version i have not seen it.
@Timvandervliet4 жыл бұрын
By the way, ending your shower cold for a minute does not cool you off internally. It only has an effect on your arms and legs but your internal temperature stays 37 degrees C. Actually warm blood flows to your gut so more blood flow in the gut. And it just feels amazing afterwards. Maybe i will make another video about it.
@isbrytaren4 жыл бұрын
@@Timvandervliet is it better to skip the warm water and do cold water directly or does it not matter? Thanks for great info btw!
@phalanger14 жыл бұрын
@@Timvandervliet Here's the version I read, the part about cold water is at the end of page 25: www.angelfire.com/ia/trikay/temp/tb/temp/drbass09.pdf . I agree I don't see why you shouldn't get the benefits when also doing cold exposure. Indeed the fact that it's in an old teaching doesn't make it right. But it's peculiar that it warns against it so specifically, while I'm doing it right before my cold shower/icebath now :) Those are usually about 4min for me. You think it could be too long? Good to hear you also take this warning with a few grains of salt, I will continue to do the same ;)
