It’s crazy to say but Kobe doesn’t get the respect he deserves he was an absolute beast on the court
@___Robin___

The way I remembered his days were as him playing iso ball, taking a ton of godawful shots and missing quite a lot. If you look at his career percentages from 2 and 3 they are pretty bad for someone to be considered one of the greatest of all time. I think people disregard how much he missed and how often he brought his team down due to selfishness. If you look at his first years in the NBA where he went to the finals he was playing bad and shaq was carrying the team on his back. I love Kobe, I love how his play style is and how it resembles MJ and I miss having a fighter in this league like him. I do think he had many flaws people just disregard because they call him clutch. Just so you know he made a ton of clutch shots but he also missed a ton of them. My point is I think he got all the respect he deserves and maybe even too much.

If you'd look at their stats, Kobe wasn't necessarily being carried during their finals runs. He posted great numbers especially against a tough western conference. The reason why Shaq appeared to be so freakin' dominant is because he really is, but it is also compounded by the fact that no one really matched up to him during those finals matches. I mean, the toughest challenge he had was an old Mutombo, so naturally, the offense would flow through him more. But Kobe wasn't really carried like a lot of people claim he is. In their first ring maybe, but his scoring averages for their three championship runs are as follows: 21.1, 29.4, 26.6.

Nathan Alidon Exactly kobe carried?? i dont think so.. if anything kobe carried Shaq.. doing the dirty parts like playing D.. running for fast breaks.. good post and shooting when shaq isnt everywhere at once. kobes numbers were beast bro.. and what do you mean he dont get credit he deserves.. hes ONE OF THE GREATEST EVER.. and everyone still thinks hes better than LEBRON.

@@paulhernandez346 You're bringing up big men. When you evaluate a player leave at the player, take away accomplishments an leave at pure basketball. Kobe is very VERY underrated. And it proves fans don't know shit because all NBA legends seem to put Kobe high on their list an they all favor him over LeBron. I think I'll believe what legends of the game say, the Kobe wasn't Mike not at all but there's no huge gap an Kobe is easily a top 10 legend.

Thats the difference between you and me on evaluating a player. Don’t forget MJ said on live that Kobe would might beat him one on one but I am not saying Kobe will but I think it would surely be a tough matchup. Anyways peace

Rokesh Gurung didn’t Larry Bird say that MJ was God? Didn’t Phil Jackson, who coached them both for a while, say that Jordan would win? Jordan was probably being humble. Kobe’s not even the best player on the Lakers, nor will KD be in the top 10. Leflop literally does nothing impressive, and his best competition was Kobe himself, while Jordan played Bird, Magic, Drexler, John Stockton, Karl Malone, Hakeem Olajuwon, Ewing, and many other players. Lebron, Kobe, or KD cannot hold a candle to Jordan. Kobe has the most missed shots ever, also.

Ryan Johnson And Kobe was 2nd fiddle to Shaq for 3 rings, needed Robert Horry and the refs to bail him in out 2002, and needed Pau Gasol and Ron Artest to win in 2010. What your point? No one wins alone.
@xaviervega468
@xaviervega468 6 жыл бұрын
Ryan Johnson LOL you can't be serious. If winning a ring while averaging only 15 points on 36% shooting isn't 2nd fiddle I don't know what is. You ask those Pacers why they lost aht series and I guarantee the very first thing they'll say is "Shaq dropped 38 a game on us" If DWade had averaged 30+ points in every Final and won every Finals MVP you wouldn't even count those rings for Lebron. The real point is if Lebron would have had a teammate averaging 30+ points in 3 of his Finals he wouldn't be 3-6 in the Finals.

People tend to only look at offense when talking about MJ & Kobe, yet there are two ends of the court. MJ was the first out of only three players (and the only guard) to ever record 200+ steals with 100+ blocks in a season, and the only one to do so twice (in a row for good measure), earning him the DPOY. He reached the 200 mark for steals six times in his career, peaking at 259 steals plus 131 blocks in '88. Kobe peaked at 181 steals & 67 blocks in '03. MJ also competed for the All-Defensive 1st Team against DPOY guards Alvin Robertson (all-time spg leader), Michael Cooper, & Gary Payton as well as renowned defensive specialists John Stockton (all-time steals leader), Joe Dumars, & Mookie Blaylock in their primes.

Defense is at its most intense in the postseason though. Hence, it's the ultimate test for offensive players. After Kobe retired in 2016: 30-point playoff games Michael Jordan = 109 Kobe Bryant = 88 LeBron James = 83 Kareem Abdul-Jabbar = 75 Jerry West = 74 40-point playoff games Michael Jordan = 38 Jerry West = 20 LeBron James = 15 Elgin Baylor = 14 Wilt Chamberlain & Kobe Bryant = 13 50-point playoff games Michael Jordan = 8 Wilt Chamberlain = 4 Allen Iverson = 3 Jerry West = 2 Kobe Bryant & 15 others = 1 60-point playoff games Elgin Baylor & Michael Jordan = 1 Career playoff points per game Michael Jordan = 33.45 (.487 fg%) Allen Iverson = 29.73 (.401 fg%) Jerry West = 29.13 (.469 fg%) Kevin Durant = 28.79 (.455 fg%) LeBron James = 28.00 (.478 fg%) Kobe Bryant = 25.64 (.448 fg%) [11th] Career playoff total points Michael Jordan = 5987 (179 games, 7474 minutes) Kareem Abdul-Jabbar = 5762 (237 games, 8851 minutes) Kobe Bryant = 5640 (220 games, 8641 minutes) LeBron James = 5572 (199 games, 8383 minutes) Shaquille O'Neal = 5250 (216 games, 8098 minutes)

@jp3813... Of course but the times are definitely a key factor... MJ’s time frame players were not as athletic nor skilled as Kobe’s time frame, the game had evolved throughout the world because of MJ but Kobe’s era was more difficult to standout so KOBE all day offensively/defensively more skilled!!!!
@jp3813
@jp3813 6 жыл бұрын
@@SomeOneSeen That couldn't be farther from the truth. Three-pointers is the only category that improved in the new millennium. Field goal percentage, offensive rebounds (all-time low at single digits per game this past season), assists, steals, blocks, etc... all gradually went down during Kobe's time. Back in the late 20th century; annual assists leaders typically reached the 900+ total mark (Stockton peaked at 1164), steals leaders with 200+ (A. Robertson at 301), and blocks leaders with 300+ (Eaton at 456). In the post-2000 era; such marks were only reached twice, thrice, and once respectively. The 1984 draft alone provided a yearly race for the steals title between MJ, Stockton, and A. Robertson; plus Hakeem as the only center to record 200+ steals. Guards won the DPOY five times in the 80s, once in the 90s, and zero in the 2000s & 2010s.

LeBron is better in every major statistics and that includes PPG RPG APG BPG and SPG and if you're gonna argue that Kobe is greater than LeBron because of his Free throw percentages? Then go ahead. LeBron is the better one-on-one defender, better team defender, more versatile defender, better passer, better rebounder, more efficient scorer, more efficient clutch scorer... @ralx225b
@ralx225b 6 жыл бұрын
1. Jordan is better in all stats seriously you have no idea what you are talking about. 2. Jordan's field goal percentage is higher because he drove in the lane and finished at the rim more versus Kobe who took more jumpers. Based on your weak argument one could say Lebron is better because he shoots a higher field goal percentage. Learn how to actually construct an argument instead of just lazily stating comments with no substance.

You cannot win over prime MJ on 1v1... He was too quick and too strong. You have to play 1v2 to destroy him... Kobe didn't have that otherworldly first step of MJ. Kobe had to dribble a lot to lose his opponents while MJ didn't have to. Kobe said MJ made it look too easy because he was so efficient, surgically precise and relentless...
@Jordan-th3pr
@Jordan-th3pr 6 жыл бұрын
@@lamefart what do you mean? Have you seen Kobe in his prime? He used to get triple teamed off the ball and still score 50. He also had to deal with zone defenses, which are way harder than just man to man.
@lamefart
@lamefart 6 жыл бұрын
@@Jordan-th3pr, you mean the "modern" zone defense where MJ scored 25 6 5 on healthy knees? You really haven't watched 80-90s bb.. It's well known that zone defense existed way back than you really know. Just search or should I put up a link? Zone won't work on MJ. The 3-2 zone defense by New York didn't work.. No defensive 3-second, hand-checking and zone defense was more difficult than today's no touch NBA. More favorable for the offensive player and as fundamentally sound MJ was, he'd soak all these in and be a different player in different set of rules.. You're comparing a zone defense of today's bb where you couldn't actually hold an opponent vs zone defense back then were you would be manhandled if you get inside the perimeter. I've watched Kobe's prime, did you watch MJ's? He's being underrated by the media and ESPN to promote other players but real fans of basketball who watched 80s - 90s basketball knew MJ's impact around the world re basketball, the man wearing the #23 on his back...
@lamefart
@lamefart 6 жыл бұрын
@@Jordan-th3pr, let me put it this way... If Kobe put up such numbers against zone defense, you think a stronger and quicker player with better efficiency won't put up those numbers if not better? I mean come on, today's league is suited for perimeter shooting guys and MJ, one of the best perimeter shooter, doing those 22+ jumpers a night at 60 efg% would struggle in today's defense? No hand on the face, no hand pushing his hips nor elbows on his back... Be reasonable. Kobe ave 19.5 shots per game on 45% shooting and his best shooting season never reached 47%. MJ did it in 10 seasons... He made it looked too easy. Even Kobe said it, he was clinical in his approach of the game that he was surgically precise.. No wasted movements; can cross a defender in one dribble, can lose a defender with simple ball fakes, and of course without even dribbling just taking them with his quick first step. KMart, Jefferson, KG, Prince, Marion etc... looked like high school kids when healthy Wizards MJ played against them...
