When you think about it, Steph's legacy is truly inspiring. Every time he achieves something remarkable, people find ways to doubt him. Yet he always rebounds with an even greater accomplishment, only for doubts to resurface, and then he achieves something even bigger. He continually proves his critics wrong.

So Curry is the only player with 4 rings, a FMVP, 2 MVPs with one being the only unanimous in history, 2x NBA scoring leader, NBA steals leader, FIBA World Cup Gold, Olympic Gold medalist with quite possibly the best final 3 minute sequence we have ever seen, the only player to join the 50-40-90 club averaging 30 ppg +, All Star MVP, 2x 3 point NBA championship, one of only two players in NBA history to score 50+ in game 7 with Tatum being the other, put his 3 point reputation on the line against Sabrina, ended up beating her and beating everyone who played in the regular 3 pt contest for the belt, he is 26-6-6 in 42 games played with KD and KD is 30-7-5 in the 42 games played with Curry. Curry has gone to the Finals 5 years in a row, won a ring before and after KD, and was the number one option on the team that beat MJ's Bulls best record for a season. Curry said "y'all don't want to see us next year" and literally put the Warriors on his back in 2022 and won his 4th ring and FMVP. The only player to win Clutch player of the Year, WCFMVP, the best 3 point shooter the league has ever seen based on volume, the best FT shooter in NBA history, Curry has averaged 32-7-6 in the 5 game 7s in his career, holds too many records I mean it gets tedious eventually its like only player to shoot 4 3s with 5 rebounds on 7 assists while shooting above 70%, 402 3s in a season, over 8000 3pa on 42% shooting, changed the way the NBA played offense for a decade, this past year Curry was 9th in scoring on 26-4-5 shooting 40% on 12 3pa while averaging the least amount of time played compared to the players above him at age 35..Curry leads GSW in points, assists, steals, most made threes, most fgs made for season and playoffs. Leading the league in most 3s per season with 8 seasons and counting. First place all time leading the league in 3s consecutively with 5 seasons in a row. 1st place of all time making 3s in the clutch in a season with 32 and it's 2023-2024. Most 3pm in a month with 96 and in a week with 36. The only player to make 8 3s consecutively in 3 games and the only player to do it multiple times. The highest true shooting % in a season with 66.9% (edit: Rudy Gobert holds this record now) and I could legitimately keep going and going.

I like the stat I saw the other day for most games hitting 10+ 3pt shots. There's a bunch of guys who've done it once, in their entire career. There are actually only 7 guys other than Steph who have ever done it more than once, 5 of those (including Harden) only managed it 2-3 times in their career. Steph did it four times in 8 days in 2021! I don't care the sport, when you have a guy setting records, and they aren't just edging it slightly higher, they are literally setting marks that nobody else is even close to, then you got to say that guy is one of the greatest of all time.

Steph Curry brought me back to NBA basketball. I had stop watching after the Michael Jordan era. The game seemed to have deteriorated to clear outs for the team star to make something for himself. Curry can make things happen by himself, he also uses picks and sets picks and passes. His outside shooting opens up the middle. It is more fun to watch. I think he changed the way the game is played, which makes him a generational talent.

Exactly, I’ve always wrote in the comments. If there was a pound for pound (or inch by inch rating as a reply has said). Curry is HANDS DOWN the greatest of all time. No contest. In terms of pure skill and not naturally gifted physical athleticism, he is BY FAR, the ABSOLUTE GREATEST in RAW skill. Don’t need no height or speed to destroy guards 50% larger than him. That being said, he naturally just has a disadvantage defending against people taller than him, which seems to be most of the league. It makes sense for the type of game basketball is. The hoop doesn’t adjust its height for different basketball players, instead the players adjust to get closer or better reach at the rim. If we’re talking other games with the basketball such as shooting games like horse, I’d bet for curry any day. Too bad big leagues are the main focus, and those are the main games at the end of the day.

Arenas: No one can replicate Magic. Oddly enough, Lebron's basically like Magic. Maybe not officially a point guard, but Lebron usually leads his teams in assists. Curry though? No one's close to replicating his volume and accuracy. Harden and Lillard are two closest active players behind Curry in 3 pointers made, but neither of them scratch 40% 3pt %. Harden's best season is 39% when he was on the bench for OKC, he's been closer to 35-36% most of his Rockets years. Lillard scratched 40.1% in his best year but he's usually around 37%. Curry's a 42% career average, with only one bad year under 40%, ironically during his '22 championship year. Plenty of incoming kids will be chucking up tons of shots, but no one's replicating 10+ attempts a game and making 40% of them as the main guy on their team.

Very nicely put together. I can see you put a lot of work into this. What I recall..."During the 2024 Paris Olympics men's basketball gold medal game, French commentators criticized Stephen Curry's performance, calling him "the devil" and saying he was "hurting us". Curry led Team USA to victory with 24 points, including four three-pointers in the final minutes. However, Curry found the comments humorous and told Stephen Colbert on The Late Show that he thought the French broadcast was "hilarious". My impression was that crowd was incredible hostile....so when Curry did his signature "night night" they considered him arrogant....which is so ironic considering just how many cultures consider the French to be so arrogant and rude.

To be fair to Perkins, the probability of any team not winning a championship is usually much higher than the probability of that team winning even a single championship. It was not like GSW was a clear-cut favourite to win a championship that year as well

In addition to everything else everyone has said, he's pure entertainment. When he hit a layup and fell in the game against Canada, he finished with a pose. He made the calm-down motion when he hit the first 3 in the France game. He did the night-night celebration when he hit the final 3 in that game. He puts on a show each time even opponents fans (and if they're honest, some opponents) start cheering for him. He is a one-of-a-kind generational talent.

He's definitely a generational talent - best shooter of all time, has had a significant impact on the way the game is played. He is definitely not a generational physical specimen (like KD, Lebron, Wemby, Giannis), but the fact that Curry as so impactful when being so relatively undersized is amazing.

There's a image thats reserved in certain peoples minds for that generational talent or for the greats of basketball. Curry has never fit that, so while others get fed, he always had to fight for it. It's always frustrating but fun to see the response.

Curry’s gravity will forever be the most underrated skill in the entirety of basketball, because there’s no stat for that, and as time passes it will not be looked at when comparing all time greats. Steph imo is by far the greatest offensive weapon of all time. The Steph hate we see is similar to what we’re seeing in the wnba with Clark this year, the only difference is that NBA is not a struggling corporation without Steph (yes they would be losing a lot of revenue, but they will still make crazy profits)

People are born with the best build, like lebron, Wemby, shaq, Kareem… they’re supposed to be all time greats. What people don’t understand is that because Curry is small, he had to work endlessly to become the greatest shooter to combat his weakness. Steph curry is pure skill and didn’t have an edge in the completion like literally every other superstar. I think that’s more impressive than somebody who’s tall and can just shoot over everyone or power through defense. He changed the game forever and now everyone and their kids have the belief they can be great. Old heads are stuck in their one dimensional ways of thinking. Kobe is great because of his skill not build, KD is great because he’s tall and has skill, kyrie is small but has skill. Even Tiger woods, couldn’t hit like 400 yards but because of his skill he’s the GOAT. Curry though, god level skill. Appreciate greatness for the last years

He never gets the credit he deserves still. He doesn't get credit for his all around game like rebounds and assists. They'll still say he's a defensive liability but when he gets steals, no credit for it. All of the hate is simply because of his size. He doesn't need to be a generational talent because he's a once in a lifetime player and no one in the history of the game can do what does the way he does it.

Gilbert's definition of "generational" is "GENErational". You have to be tall, uber athletic to be called a generational talent, but that is generational body or upside. We, or they, are talking about TALENT. Can anybody mimic Steph? With all the practice shots Dame did he only comes up to 37-38% shooting.

I feel your frustration man, some people will never understand the greatness that Steph has displayed through his ENTIRE career. Truly one of a kind and in my opinion top 5 all time. The most impressive thing about Steph is his ability to compete against athletic freaks like LeBron. The reason people get so upset is because a player with Steph’s size and athleticism shouldn’t be able to dominate but he never complains. He comes out and goes straight at you no matter who you are and that is what is so impressive about Steph.

Some great basketball players cannot accept S.CURRY as the GOAT for their fear of losing their fame. For me S. Curry is not just a GOAT or HALL OF FAMER one, Curry is someone more than those two categories they are figthing for. S. Curry is a UNIVERSAL CELEBRITY or someone in TOP of all basketeers. A CITATION OR TITLE not yet known in this world of basketball but celestially proclaimed. There is where S. Curry fits to be. The best of all the best. This is for me, have your own if it's not acceptable to you.
