Larry Bird is so fun to watch. He was also a team player and worked very had to be as great as he was. He has an impressive list of accomplishments as well.. There were several reasons he left Indiana University (IU). It was huge compared to his home town, plus he was shy and since his family was poor, he didn't have the clothing everyone else had, and the team didn't treat him well. The coach there later said, he should have helped him more. So Larry quit, went home, worked at the public works department and took some classes at the community college. Then the coach from the smaller Indiana State University (ISU) came down, pursued him and finally got him to go there. His father, who had probably developed PTSD from his time in the Korean War, became an alcoholic and committed suicide when Larry was 18.

Red saying Larry plays hurt is an understatement. He broke his hand before he graduated college and in his words never shot as well again. Red went down to Indiana when he heard and had Larry shoot for him, he hit 10 in a row and Red went home. Then he broke his back creating a driveway for his grandma about halfway into his career. He spent every second not on the court in a full body cast that he took out back and blew to pieces with a shotgun when he retired. That's why when you see him not in the game he's laying down, or like when he came back in from the broken cheekbone he squatted down. Y'all need to watch the stories of his trash talking and listen to them. Bird and Magic created March Madness and saved the NBA, the league wouldn't exist if not for them. He wasn't a shooter, passer, he was EVERYTHING! He's Larry Legend, Basketball Jesus. It's ridiculous how amazing he was. In a previous video I saw y'all trying to compare him to someone now, don't disrespect him like that. NO player now deserves to be compared to anyone from before the rule changes in 2003. Today's game is a joke. Defense and physicality isn't allowed. Shooting and everything was down so Stern made rule changes that completely opened up the court to adapt the NBA to the subpar play that was flooding the league and has taken over. With no contact Bird, Jordan... those guys would be ripping this NBA apart.

Magic had it right, the best ever and there will never be another Larry Bird- MJ himself has said every time he played against the Legend he learned something new, the guy was just truly a savant with the greatest work ethic and just wanted to win and do it all for the Celtic's and their fans...what a champion, LARRY LEGEND THE REAL GOAT! I mean, damn Bill Russell called him to tell him he made him proud to be a Celtic! says it all.

They just renamed the Eastern Conference MVP trophy after Larry Bird and the western counterpart after Magic Johnson.

A&T Reacts, a broken cheek and already broken back and 2 bad feet and ankles at that point- he would spend the night in the hospital in traction, then go play at times, had to lay down on the floor on the sidelines and in the planes on trips- couldnt sit! THEN he would go out there and torch the whole league! if he had not been injured this way WTH we don't know how many more titles and MVP's he would have had, he had one speed- 150% at all times, practice, pick up games, pre season, cuttin his lawn, diggin his driveway in his overall's drinkin Grain Belt beers lol he was an old school junk yard dog with serious game...LARY LEGEND the real GOAT! check out Larry Bird vs. Michael Jordan greatest highlights, awesome basketball..and yes, MJ was 0-6 vs. Bird and the C's in the playoffs.
