You want to disrespect Bird by comparing him to Luca? Come on man.

Bird is a better shooter with his left hand than LeBron James does on his best day ever. Best SF to ever play the game is by far Larry Bird. I didnt even say that, Jordan did.

We re not just fans we are part of the club, part of the city, part of the culture. We wear the same clothes as in same brands we do it every week sometimes 2x a week, we travel long distances, we get injured, give up times with our family som4times even give up the family...its not just a fan. Its different than in America, you have to come and attend a football match and see the passion to start comprehending it. Its also what we talk about the most, its life

His trash talk was clean though. He didn’t put anyone down. He’d tell a defender what he would do then do it.

As the biggest Lakers fan of the 80's, Larry Bird is one of the 3 GOATS. 80's Lakers vs Celtics ball was pure gladiator poetry in motion.

4:15- One thing to remember is that the other team responded the way they did, because Bird called the shot before taking it. This was acknowledged by players in interviews. Bird was known for talking smack and backing it up, including telling his defender before an inbound including where he would get the ball, what moves he would do, where he would take his shot from. Still defenders couldn't stop him. As I recall this was one of those called shots. 4:40- I can attest it was a much more physical game than it is today.

Nobody's game is like Larry Bird's was. Everybody, players, coaches, trainers, referees, everybody says the same thing - Bird was 3 or 4 moves ahead of all attempts to cope with or plan for him. He was basketball, like the best musicians in history were literally music walking on 2 feet, Bird's very fiber was canvas sneakered DNA. Pat Riley, a man who was at the top of every facet of basketball - college and pro player, coaching, front office management, Hall of Fame in every job of the game - Magic Johnson's head coach in the "Showtime Lakers" era, said in an interview when asked about best players, "To take one shot to win a game, I'd choose Michael Jordan. To take one shot to save my life, I'd pick Larry Bird."

A&T Reacts: I am ancient, ... 73 years old. And that game when he hit a crucial trey that didn't count, because their wonderful coach KC Jones had called timeout just after the 6 minute mark of your fun video .... I was AT THAT GAME! it was at the Capital Centre in Landover MD (east of Wash DC). The Washington Bullets fans were all psyched up. it was double overtime game. Bird had been red hot for most of game. The Bullets fans thought they had wrapped up the game in 2nd OT, had just taken a 1 point lead with only about 4 seconds remaining in 2nd OT. But Bird sent them home dejected. Hit an outrageous long jumper to win it for Boston AS THE FINAL BUZZER SOUNDED. I am fairly sure he had 46 points. Date was November 7, 1987.
@VrgniaMailman16 күн бұрын
I had recorded the game at my home because we had a subscription to the Home Team Sports channel. Only after I watched that, did I realize that the Washington play by play guy, Mel Proctor, was downright DESPONDENT as Bird's game winning shot fell through the hoop. Something like, "Bird takes the shot ... buzzer sounds ... and Bird makes it .... " Mel sounded like he was announcing a funeral ....

The USA understands nothing, absolutely nothing, about European Fußball. Europe has zero interest in USA brand football. Europe: Passion USA: Business. The last thing anyone wants here is the USA football brand. The European Fußball brand has existed since approximately 1860. We have no one to learn from.

Larry was playing football and basketball and I was watching the Knicks when Bird started playing for the Celtics. We just kept saying what? That's when I started taping Celtics games and have over a hundred games with Bird playing with Boston. You'll never see the fans rush the floor anymore. Not in this or your lifetime.

BIRD won 3 MVP's in a row and one MVP they stole from him and gave it to Dr. J. bc J's career was winding down and he'd never won a MVP.

A&T Reacts, a broken cheek and already broken back and 2 bad feet and ankles at that point- he would spend the night in the hospital in traction, then go play at times, had to lay down on the floor on the sidelines and in the planes on trips- couldnt sit! THEN he would go out there and torch the whole league! if he had not been injured this way WTH we don't know how many more titles and MVP's he would have had, he had one speed- 150% at all times, practice, pick up games, pre season, cuttin his lawn, diggin his driveway in his overall's drinkin Grain Belt beers lol he was an old school junk yard dog with serious game...LARY LEGEND the real GOAT! check out Larry Bird vs. Michael Jordan greatest highlights, awesome basketball..and yes, MJ was 0-6 vs. Bird and the C's in the playoffs.
