Nice to see some more nuggies MG. Everything you say makes sense to me. Be consistent and you will find that good yellow stuff. And true no setting on a 4500 is holly grail. I change mine all day. I've been working a patch had the 14" on then changed to the 11" and found 5 nuggies that I missed with the 14" and they were at the same depth as the others I was finding. The ground is about 2" of topsoil straight into some nice crunchy quarts material with a clay base at 7" to 10" in depth. 12 bits for nearly 4grams. Funny I always find gold when you change coils. So I change mine too. Lol. Thanks for another great video. Champ. May your scoop shine bright my friend. CHEERS FROSTY

Now your giving away tips too hahah!! And I thought all the hard work you do filming and digging was enough lol I went back and read the comment from Gerard!! He sure knows the struggles it takes to produce these videos :) I am apart of a gold channel in northern California called “ California motherlode prospector”......I take part in the adventures with my buddy jerry. He does all the hard work filming and editing at home so I never see that part but he tells me it takes from 6 to 10 hours usually if not more 🤯 And just like Gerard said that’s not even considering the good adventure itself!! I watch Jerry go through all the struggles Gerard mentions and I’m sure you go through them just as well!! I know what it takes to make these videos and I always wonder how much back work you must be putting in to get the quality editing you have.... Great job and well done again MG I love and appreciate these vids... Mate what you said about reading the ground and working out what the signs of previous activity mean. It was Field Marshal Montgomery who said "time spent in reconnaissance is seldom wasted". When I go to a new area I wander around without the detector turned on for as long as it takes to understand what has happened and where to start. I have to keep the detector off because being a man I can only concentrate on one thing at a time.

What do you recommend buying gpx5000 with multiple plates or sdc2300 larger production for large quantities of gold?
@MinelabGold4 жыл бұрын
Thats a damn good question, short answer would be GPX5000 all depends I guess. They both have pro's and cons And would take a very long comment to explain it all My preference would be 5000 but if I could have both they both compliment each other.

Great video I love the tips also!! Although, not worrying about the setting has me, worried,,,,, I have been running in cancel mode on my 4500, as recommended by some locals that detect in my gold areas and I am having a hard time even finding large iron!!! They would not give me bad info!!! LMAO! In all seriousness I was out detecting with my buddies and one of them found a patch with his 7000. He called me over and had me detect the area. When I could not find any targets I had him go over the same area. He got a good target and I swung over it and could not pick it up on the 4500. After scraping off a1-2 inches I then could hear it. It was 4-5 inches down and turned out to be a .37 Gram flat piece! It was frustrating the 4500 could not pick that up at 4-5 inches!! I figure I just don't have the setting right. AWWWWW,,, very frustrating. I think it should have picked that piece at that depth???!!! Keep up the great video brother!!!
@mininhawaiian29114 жыл бұрын
WillDetect that sounds very frustrating I didn’t know the 4500 or 5000 Could be tuned to miss those same peices the 7000 could pick up... That’s good info I’m dying to get flathead 7000 I’m just gonna have to save up for a few years lol Or sell my gold . With gold prices going up it may very well be possible
@MinelabGold4 жыл бұрын
Ahhh Noooo damn damn - first thing is to always check GPX before staring to detect Just to make sure Cancel isnt pushed - well we check all toggle switches before detecting Hoping they didnt trick you mate - cause thats painful walking around with easily 75% less depth So good to hear from ya Marty and thanks for watching
@MinelabGold4 жыл бұрын
Hey Minin, yeah GPX will find gold GPZ cant and GPZ will find more the GPX can't. Also comes down to settings - if too dull in GPZ - GPX will find the targets better There are so many variables in settings between both machines which will stop someone getting a target compared to the other machine. But its much fun comparing in many many tests to see which settings thrive ;)
@mininhawaiian29114 жыл бұрын

Hi Paul, yeah its a hard one to say, if your finding small shot then yeah absolutely you will. Maybe get a small test nugget. If the gold is big enough and close enough to surface almost all machines will find the target.
