This was really worthwhile, thank you. I had just about given up watching gold detecting vids as they were all the same boring footage of blokes just showing you the digs and having to endure the endless whoo, whoo of the detector noise. Your preparedness to pass on tips about technique and ground selection are commendable. Thanks again. I learnt a lot!

Thanks for the kind words, one of the things that led me to do these videos was a lack of KZbin material that shows the full story, not just the digging of a big nugget. BK

@@BKGoldDetecting I think it is the nature of the beast to be secretive and not share, or worse still giving fake info. It really amazes me when people won't even say they found gold near a town even. Well near a town could be a hundred thousand square kilometres lol. Extremely rare that someone asks for your honey-hole exactly, just an idea. So you found gold around Inglewood, and good on you, but that you tell people is great sharing with others. After you find that massive humungous nugget, then flog the area to death, what harm is it saying where that is, even GPS coords. There is nothing left there and you won't go back again. Sharing is caring. I really hope you do find a huge nuggy. Cheers.

I tried here n there with a stock F1A4, hoping to upgrade with my finds but never really got anywhere. I rencently got the GM1000 and have been using it on one of my dry creeks to put me on the gold, its been great. :) following the lead chunks and shotty pellets has put me into some nicer pockets. I have panned .3 pickers out of this creek so the GM is my pin pointer. You wouldnt happen to have a lower end machine to show your tactics in this sort of area in this vid would you? I certainly think theres an audience for that. Thanks again.

You have just solved a mystery I've pondered for 30 years. As a young man I worked on a cattle station in north Queensland, and one of our camps was at a very old and remote habitation site. I spent a good half an hour one lunch break inspecting what I thought was some bored lonely persons duck pond setup, but now understand was in fact a puddler!

Along with surveying the area before leaving your vehicle/camp is to log your spot on a GPS or something so you don't end up lost. Just found this and subbed as I like your style and info. Do you camp there or is it just a set-up for the day with the tarp down and cooker out? GL, HH, and all the best.

Your Life is apparently riddled with success and am sure it is because you made the effort , and made that effort in a generous way towards humanity. I am envious and jealous of you to the point of I almost hate you. That is some sort of personality disorder I have that I cannot seem to rectify. May that God continue to bless you and your family and thank you so much for the effort you go to to provide amongst the best videos on KZbin.

@BKGoldDetecting
@BKGoldDetecting 4 жыл бұрын
Thanks, I usually run in high yield. Tbh, I normally just adjust the sensitivity if the ground is very hot. If the ground is very quiet and deep I will sometimes go into normal mode and slow down my swing speed. Gives great depth.

How many grams in total did you find that day? The big question is over the time you've been hunting down gold, have you gotten enough back to pay for all your gear?
@BKGoldDetecting
@BKGoldDetecting 3 жыл бұрын
From memory I think about 7 grams, that’s a good day. Rarely do you cover all your costs, although we have more than paid for our gear. Having said that if you look at the hours we put in we’re probably earning $10 an hour, so it’s a hobby that pays back some expense if your lucky. Of course, you can get lucky and find the odd big bit....
