What upgrades do you think I should look at installing on the Neptune 2?
@MrGerhardGrobler3 жыл бұрын
I am not sure. Seems you have everything already. Awesome finish on your prints. I just got my Ender 3 Max. Still tuning in the filament settings, and adjusting the v-rollers. The z frame rollers where so tight it squished my layers together. Welding movable joints into solid pieces. This is my 1st build. My other 2 printers where pre-build by the person I bought them from.

Just wanted to say thank you. Got my first 3D printer (Neptune 2) last week. Printed out demo model great. Started having trouble printing supports on models a few prints later. Came across your 5 tips here. Got a flexible plate from Amazon, some hairspray and used Chep's bed level print as you suggested (kept the filament runout sensor on for now and haven't done the paver stone yet). WOW! The Neptune 2 is a very quite machine already with the exception of the Z axis motor being a tad loud...for some reason. I have two of these machines, loved the first one so much I got another LOL. Odd thing is the second one is much much quieter then the other (z axis motor). And yes the adhesion is INCREDIBLE with the factory plate, its fine to use a metal scraper to get them off if they stick TOO well. VS a glass plate, these plates are much better and are not as heavy as glass would be (so no ghosting), and its just better to have it sticking too well, then not at all. (3rd printer is a Monoprice Voxel which has the same build surface type and things stick too well to that as well).

Oh yeah, filament sensor is bit awkward, I'm looking into mounting it somewhere up top near the spool. Also Thanos bust I printed took a part of build plate as sacrifice. Ordered some magnetic spring steel sheet as replacement. Other than that I LOVE this machine. Some quirks like build surface hovering over touch screen etc. are a bit annoying, but overall the quality of prints overshadows all the (solvable) flaws for me.
@yoyofargo Жыл бұрын
tl-smoothers (8 diode) on the z-axis and extruder. these will shut up that coil whine on those two motors since they don't have trinamic drivers on those two steppers ($2 each) a segment of bowden tube held up by a piece of packing foam and doublestick tape, placed between the runout and the extruder makes it easy to load and stops it from screeching when filament scrapes between them. ($5 for a meter) when setting the machine on a paver block you can just set the paver on the packing foam that came with your printer If you added a tl-smoother you can add a bltouch or a crtouch and it won't be as annoying g10, 1.5mm thick, 250mm by 250mm sheet as a print surface. that, or the creality flex bed. they cost about the same shipped. I like the g10. many of the neptune mobos offer an empty wifi socket. populate it if you want, but imho you're better off buying one of the many SBC's and running klipper

I’ve replaced the stock one with the all metal dual gear extruder piece and new springs and knobs for leveling. Just seeing if I am doing something wrong or something I can adjust. point 3 on mine i have to crank it all the way down. I have points 1,2,4 with the paper sliding and point 3 bites down hard into the bed. So i cranked all the knobs to the right and slowly turned the knobs left to lock onto the paper at each point then back them off. This works for a time or two. Then i have to make the Z access higher. Currently its at 3.20 above zero and the bed at point 3 is still feeling like its higher then the rest of the other points. Leveling it is such a pain in the ass. Elegoo Neptune N2.

@gettheknack20303 жыл бұрын
While on a flat and level surface, loosen 2 screws on each side of the base. That should take the twist out of the bottom frame and set it straight on all four corners, then tighten the screws back up. There's a pic posted on the fb group's page for reference.
@gettheknack20303 жыл бұрын
What also helped me while assembling, was to loosen the bottom screws that hold the vertical z axis tracks, have the extruder bar with rollers off, and the top stablizing bar on but slightly loose. Then re-tighten the bottom screws for z tracks while keeping them squared with the top bar. Take the top bar off, put the extruder on and top bar back on. The rollers should then be perfectly centered in the track.

ive recently bought a Neptune 2S, and finding my temperatures are wildly incorrect!!! I usually print with Jayo PLA+ at 220c on all my printers.. But when setting up and printing with my Neptune 2S, I found that 220c was making it clog and extruder motor click... I borrowed a very expensive, scientific K type thermal probe.. Which is ridiculously accurate, and put it on my Neptune 2S hot end when preheated to 220c.... It was at 187c.... When i print with my neptune 2S, i need to have the display temperature set to 240-245, in order for my nozzle to actually be 220c..... I have tried PID tuning.. This did absolutely nothing... Its no big deal, setting temperature higher on the printer.. But its becoming annoying, Not knowing what its actual temperature is, When im trying to dial in another filament.. And want to get to the bottom of why its so crazy incorrect.... Any ideas?!?! Thanks
