@@layalch230 Usually there is a read through. If the director says nothing ask questions or do a scene one way and ask if she would like another way. Things are made to look easy, or simple, and that's when you're in the zone. But it can be a difficult road to get to that point.

These tips help! My question: acting for me is justifying the character you're playing-- who they are and what they go through, what their purpose is, like being in their shoes-- by playing as them. How do you know if you really are playing this character correctly? If you really seem like that character? I wanna be able to play my characters well. How do I make sure I'm playing them correctly? That's really helpful. Thank you. I've been trying to do what the 12 step programs suggest and "Act as if" or "Fake it till you make it." I could not quite figure out how to fake recovery or peace of mind. But your comment helps to make it more clear. Like I need to justify the character that I am playing- their purpose, what their life is like with peace of mind, confidence and stability. I've got to bring a character to life. Thank you

You could go to local arts schools, colleges, local theatre companies, ask neighbors, kidnap people, craigslist. There is no shortage of available people who want to be "stars"!

I’ve done a lot of theatre over the years and the one thing my directors have always told me is move with purpose. No matter what you’re doing think of your location, what your character is doing, what’s going on in their head, and how they feel through every little action. Even walking across the stage can be entertaining to watch if you do it with purpose. Sorry I wanted to share 😂😂

something that really helped me is not having the thought process of thinking that you actually are doing whatever you are doing, don't think like "i have to act angry." instead, think "i am angry." it sounds so simple but your thought process can really improve you : ))

Yeah it’s good. I use it any time I’m memorizing lines and rehearsing scenes. It’s been helpful because I don’t have others to rehearse with most of the time, so the app will say the lines for the other characters, and it will repeat whichever section I’m working on for as long as I like. I also use it on my way to an audition or job so the lines are still fresh in my mind when I arrive. Hope this helps 😊

I use it often. It’s a very handy app because it lets you focus on specific areas of a scene at a time and it can automatically skip over unimportant lines. It can play in the background while using other apps too. I think it’s only available on iPhone and iPad though, not Android. It’s worth getting if it’s available.

Sup, just saving your time 1. Remember your lines 2. Manage your time on set, once 1 scene is finished, be prepared for next one 3. Fill every scene, (add emotions that you can fill in a scene depending on what you want to bring to the viewer) 4. Continuity, if there is many angles of the same scene, do it exactly and presicely the same way 5. Take direction, if director lacks in communication you have to adjust his wishes to your knowledge and apply it in set
