Most second hand bikes are bags of spanners as far as it goes, few people maintain these bikes correctly and if its up for sale for too cheap there's definitely some work in there or its hot with a bad vin or no vin 🤔

You’re absolutely right, this was another reason i went for a new surron. After looking at second hand bikes I couldn’t bring myself to get a used one and many of the sellers were sketchy. I definitely should of mentioned something on that in this video!

There shouldn't be any VIN on a off road version. I mean, you can only charge so much for a the older models. They don't hold money well anymore when there is better models and newer. 20 to 22, is easily under 3K

Tip 6: Every police force area in the UK have ongoing operations to tackle off-road motorcycles (including electric) being used illegally on footpaths, bridleways, roads and in public parks. If caught, you can be fined up to £5,000 depending on which selection of motoring offences you will be charged with and your Surron will most probably be seized and crushed!

Fact 1: Fortunately for me i live near and work for the farmer who just so happens to own these footpaths (they are not public footpaths) and land that this stretch of canal runs along. Meaning at no point do i ride on any public land in this video as he rents the land along this stretch to the canal and rivers trust, he also owns the fields that i ride in. Also meaning that i am only riding on private land with land owners permission as it states in the law to do so! I drive my bike in a van to the riding location’s also!!!! If I were to be stopped i would happily prove this meaning no bike seizure and no fine for me😊. I see your point though, there are many people who do happily ride in public places and run that risk…. But i leave that up to them. 👍🏻

Yeh i see plenty of people on youtube using them for on road use for either pleasure or commuting and they work great!! Not sure how much effect that would have on the bike long term but they can definitely take some use and last pretty well!!

How the police are you could have one registered street legal and everything and they would seize first ask questions later. One road registered would be ideal for me in rural Wales

@@mattfrancisofficial Am seriously considering unrestricted Sur ron, I like the idea of such a lightweight machine as an old biker, it looks fun being as how my last motorcycle was a BMW. Would make sure was legal all correct, Heddlu Gogledd Cymru aka North Wales Police are thick enough to miss the number plate and seize the bike off the street. might be entertaining on a traffic stop when they see i'm not a pimply youth. They would look stupid on KZbin with footage from a Gopro

Thats a shame! Definitely no need for that when it’s sensible normal people riding them. Unfortunately they’re given a bad name in this country by certain riders and groups. I personally dont like much of the roads or public places due to the trouble it can cause

Be very wary about buying one secondhand,unless the seller has got paperwork to prove they bought it legally there's a very good chance it's stolen property.

Brand new has its perks like warranty and the confidence of knowing its brand new. Nothing wrong with second hand though and you will save a few £/$. Just do your research first and make sure you’re confident with what you’re buying. Watch out for scams as there are many people trying to scam for these bikes!

Do you have to get surrons serviced and mot'd? I'm new to all this e bike stuff. Where do you even get them serviced and mot'd if so...

They can be serviced which is a much easier process than servicing an engine bike. I personally do all my servicing myself and its all fairly straight forward! As for MOT, if you wish to ride on the road then it will need a valid MOT when the bike is 3 years old or older. They can be MOT’d at any usual motorcycle MOT centre and any surron authorised dealership will be able to do a service. There is also a large number of mobile surron “mechanics” that will offer a service as part of their business. 🔋⚡️

Yeah i’m 6ft and have no problems with height. Rising the bars definitely helped and potentially a seat lift kit would help but i’m yet to try one out! 💯🔋⚡️
