Found you on YT. I am a 67y/o beginner. I have many books. I am using Faber, Accelerated Piano Adventures. I am in Book2. I also use Enhanced Edition Adult Piano All-in-one course for more explanation and song variety. I started just 6 months ago. Am looking forward to viewing more of you vids. I do take weekly lessons.

I play violin. Recently I purchased a piano. I've always thought it might be so hard but I find it much easier than what I thought at first. I started playing some pieces from Thomson and Michael aaron's books in the middle pages. I'd appreciate if you give me some advices for self study. Although I'm an adult learner I'm not in a hurry. I rather to build a firm foundation first.

That's great! I'm not surprised that it's easier than you expected, especially since you play the violin. The best suggestion I have for self-study is to follow along with a method book. My favorite is the Faber Adult Method. You might find some of the pieces easy, but it's a great way to lay out a solid foundation.

I hear you. Unfortunately, FB is the only thing right now. Do you have a platform that you'd recommend that is easily accessible to most people?

@@PianoRoadmap Sorry I don’t really have a great idea, I know that some KZbinrs use Discord or bigger ones use Reddit, or others have an active community on livestream chats on KZbin itself. It’s just that FB has a pretty bad rep, esp among creatives and younger people. But you caught me, I don’t have a better idea, esp if you were going to go through all the effort to migrate the group.

@@Irys1997 I used Discord when taking an online coding class, but (probably due to my Gen-X-edness) I found it clumsy and difficult to navigate. And yeah, FB isn't the best, so I understand not wanting to be on it. I'll keep thinking about this and hopefully come up with a solution someday!
