I don't think it's necessarily POD that's hard to sell. It's the fact that most POD sellers are doing the same style of designs on the same products. I started a shop 2-3 months ago, and I'm starting to get multiple sales a week now. However, I sell unique products, that are aesthetically pleasing, to a niche group of people, and I do a wider range of products. It takes more time and effort than most other POD sellers are willing or know how to put in, but so far, definitely possible.

Try getting a good friend or two to buy the item and write reviews for a good pdt you have. It's faster kick-starting this way when you have social proof.

Hi there, thanks for your comment. The most important thing to remember is that Etsy is a marketplace, the fees that they charge you are in exchange for the traffic they will (hopefully) bring to your store. Shopify is not a marketplace, therefore you will have to drive all the traffic yourself, google ads for example.

No that is not the same, if you use the company that prints your shirts they are a production partner, but are not linked to your Etsy store via the Etsy API.

All depends on what they are selling and how good the listings are. Generally, stores that do well with low numbers of listings are either spending a lot of money on Etsy ads, or their listings are exceptional, or both.

It is so hard to keep my Etsy shop going if the Etsy bot deactivates my listings just randomly. For example- snake brass bracelet, and they say that it violates the amber ban. No amber in this bracelet! It took a week to get the listing back. When I change a section for it, it was deactivated again. And I write, write and write appeals. So frustrating :( P.S. I have 200+ products, a lot to list, but I am afraid to do that! I already changed my shop name so it does not contain the word "amber". And list products that do not violate the restrictions, but anyway... :(

Hi Gabi, thanks for commenting. It all depends on whether or not you can sustain the tempo of 2 items per day? Generally I recommend publishing 1 product per day so that the tempo is easier to sustain and you never have to skip a day of adding a new listing.
