Oregano is very easy to grow. In fact it even tends to spread over large areas. Also it self sows like crazy. Each year I find some little plants just somewhere in the grass. I tend to gift those to others. Bees and butterflies love the flowers which are very pretty. So let them flower. It's also very easy to dry and keeps its aroma too. Definitely one of my favourite plants.

I was just out in my garden and I had forgotten what I planted. I crushed a leaf between my fingers and it smelled kind of like mint. I figure it will grow like mint once it gets going. I'm not sure if that's a good thing because mint takes over..

I had thyme die back several times before I realized my soil was too compact as you explained and was not draining well. I am switching to a mixed soil to add some cactus mix or coconut coir into my potting mix and compost to see if the thyme and oregano do better. Didn’t think to aerate it also. Great tips! Thanks.

I have been many times to Greece as I live in Ireland it's pretty easy to go. I can affirm that oregano is everywhere. I normally drive motorbike and the smell in the mountains when you drive is amazing !! I have a kilo at home. I use all the time !

I'm from Greece and we love this herb here, it is a main ingredient, along with basil, in many Greek & Italian dishes. As far as the sun, low humidity and altitude, you are very correct. It grows on mountains often rocky ones. Great video man!

Our agriculture teacher in high school taught us to aerate the soil to help plants grow better. Most of us in the class were too lazy to take care of plants every day but one of our classmates aerated the soil of his group's vegetable bed. Theirs was the only one that produced large bok choy and carrots. The difference was so obvious vs the rest of our crops lol

The Americans mostly pronounce it "oar-RAY-guh-no." and "oh-REH-guh- no." or-REG-uhh-no" (not "or-RAAHG-uh-no"). No "rag" in there, unless Russian or Austrailian trying to talk American. Or some British. Some call it like president raygun. lol. "or-ree-GAH-NO" in Australia. And India speaking English. And close to how to say in Italian. Love your videos! You are inspirational!
