My parents has oregano growing in there garden and for years they have supplied me with dry crushed oregano, my father passed 5 years ago and my mother 1 month ago. I didn't think to ask either of them on how - when to cut-dry and crush the oregano so your video is invaluable to me, especially the tip to store it in the fridge . Thank you Sir !

WOW! I almost disposed off my Oregano clippings yesterday. Someone told me it’s a herb. I left the handful of Oregano clippings under shed and decided to check it out in YT. Lo & behold I came to this video and a few others. I’m going to clean up the clippings and hang them to dry and do exactly as this lovely uncle has demonstrated. From now on, no more ‘throwing into the bin’ and I’m going to propagate what I hv in my backyard cos they are so easy to grow. Thank you so much uncle. Now a fan of Oregano.

I throw away the flowers. I would love to see a video of what you can make with that. I had a lot of oregano once, it grew into the lawn. Every time i mowed the lawn i smelt pizza lol. My friend has the same problem with mint now in his back yard. Smells good though when you mow the lawn.
@all-gone6 жыл бұрын
alibabafurball Oh my that sounds like a wonderful problem. I wish my grass weeds were oregano and mint. I’d love to live next door! How do you think that happened? Do you live up north or the south? I guess it would grow back every year if you live up north? Fascinating.
@alibabafurball6 жыл бұрын
The oregano just spread year after year like mt friends mint did. I think the roots gave more plants with the seeds helping out as well with the oregano. This is north in Canada.
@thelasttaarakian5 жыл бұрын
Its best to grow most herbs in dedicated containers or closed off areas. They are edible, hardy, weeds.
@thelasttaarakian5 жыл бұрын
All Gone it happens because mint spreads by rhizomes under ground along with above ground foliage and can easily over winter when planted in the ground. Oregano and other similar plants (like Thyme) can grow roots from any point of the stem. So when you cut the plant each stem can become a new plant that will develop roots.

Be careful what strain you buy. The variety in my garden must be variegated as it grows as a ground cover and doesn't get big flowers like that. I think it came from either flower power or a yates pack.
