Thanks for your videos. I've recently made a light beer by mistake. It was actually quite good, so now I've decided to brew more of it. I would really like to hear your advices on this topic in a future video.

Great videos (y) In another video you recommend to let the hops sit in beer for 24-72 hours, but I can’t see how you can achieve this with any of the recommendations in this video? I want to dry hop before cold crash and my cold crash lasts approx 72 hours, so best case is a 24+72 hours contact time. What is your approach?

You can cold crash and dryhop at the same time 😊 But yes, following all the advices at the same time can be hard

@@Beerstories thanks, what is your approach/procedure?

@@lassebn85 If I can offer some advice, I would dry hop during second half of primary fermentation, not while cold crashing. The hops contain enzymes that will start breaking down your complex sugars (Maltose, maltotriose, dextrines) into smaller sugars (glucose) that the yeast can eat. If you dry hop during primary, the yeast will still eat those sugars, no problem. If you dry hop while cold crashing, the yeast won't be active, and thus won't eat those sugars anymore. Those smaller sugars will end up in your bottles, and if you are bottle conditioning, you can end up over-carbonating the beer. (= gushers or bottle bombs). This does not apply if you use kegs and force carbonate. In that case, there might be some advantages to cold crashing while dryhopping.

Didn’t know Val Kilmer was into brewing

Maybe he's preparing for a role as a beer enthusiast in his next movie! Haha, you're not the first to say that ;) Though, I heard Nikolaj Coster-Waldau more ;) I guess Val Kilmer is into brewing also. Who is not into brewing??
