Love this type of content Coach, we really get to see why you're called coach. This is the video I really listen and pay attention to and see if I can apply this type of tips to my game too. My goal is to break 80. The best I've done is an 85.

My 5 tips: 1. hitting the fairway from the tee makes a big difference! 2. On second shot from fairway to green always think about taking one club more than you think you need (us amateurs typically come up short); 3. master the bump and run with a variety of clubs from PW down to say 6i and use it not the lob wedge; 4. Related to the previous point if you carry a hybrid consider using it with your hands pressed forward when stuck in trees to safely advance the ball 100+ yards it will keep the ball below the branches. 5. when in a greenside bunker pick the shot that will get you out most of the time even if further from flag than the "hero" shot which invariably hits the lip and rolls back to your feet

Finally, someone on GH's who I might (on a good day) be able to beat! Feeling inspired! haha.... J/K. Keep up the great work Mike. You'll get there! The more you play, the more consistent you'll get. I've been playing for 30+ years. The best games I've had were when I was able to play twice a week on a golf league. Then arthritis happened and I had to quit for about 10 years. Slowly getting it back, but really don't have the time like I use to now. Happy New Year GH Fam! Stay safe, stay blessed!

One thing I like to do for alignment (15:30) is to draw my line, and pick something just a couple of feet after my ball on the tee, or ground when in the fairway, that marries up with that line. That way, when I'm setting up, I no longer need to look up and back at my target, because my target has become something I can see in my immediate peripheral vision on the ground.

There were a few bonus tips in here if you pay close attention; here's a few: *knowing the yardage your clubs go *Having equipment that gives you good information, inaccurate information can be detrimental (gps/range finder) *Plan your shot that if you miss you can still be ok with your next shot (EX: if you're in front of a greenside bunker error on the long side instead of short, especially if you suck at bunker shots) *Take heed of your own insights. If you realize that you're better off laying up than risking it, lay up (personally, this one is the hardest to do) 26:08 then 27:29 XD Can I volunteer to be coach for the next video XD

Question - Hole 8 was 300 yards. At what handicap level do you recommend going with an iron off the tee vs a driver? Mike went 7 iron and I think as a 14, I make the mistake of always grabbing the wood on anything 300 and over, regardless of how I’ve been hitting it that day.

I've shot in the 70's twice. Mt Woodsen 77, Bonita 78. Both times after shooting on the 70's I have fallen into some kind of rutt afterwards, the first time (Woodsen)) it lasted for about a month (6-7) rounds. This last one at Bonita has lasted alot longer. In the last six months since the 78 I've been struggling. I usually shoot between 80-85 but since that good round I've been stuck between 86-92 😞.Do you have any advice or words of wisdom for me. Some of my friends tell me it happens to alot of people when they shoot a low score, any thoughts? I would love to get a response from you. Thnx

I agree with the tee box and left fairway aiming suggestion. He could also just hit less club off the tee as that course doesn't seem too long. I also agree with coach just working on course management on the course. That's not the time to work on the swing - just have fun and play. Thanks for the new type of video Coach and guests!

Mike depends too much on his 60 wedge. One thing I do at the range is hit chip shots with my irons. It may look weird, but I am at least prepared for those shots and I can visualize how far my 8 iron will go if i chip it.
