Hey Scott, Why not just use a 9 iron rather than a 4 iron on your second shot? I'd have to disagree with you when you said your likelihood of mishitting a shot is higher with a 9 iron. I'm more comfortable with my 9 iron than punching my 4 iron. But I get what you are saying. For some, punching a shot might be the case but if you know your strengths, you should use your strengths to your advantage. I do like the idea of punching things out rather than a full shot. I get where you are coming from. Just depends on your strengths and weaknesses.

I agree with you there, for me id always rather make a smaller swing where I feel less can go wrong. But true I am very confident I’ll strike the ball first. Could also have punched a 7 iron too. But you nailed it perfectly, play to strengths and give yourself room for error! The scores will drop!
