Yessss this is exactly what I needed, looking for new skates soon!

This is just my personal preference for T-blades, I enjoy the the L rocker and 9mm. Most of the others will use the 9mm M rocker. Of course our rink is small, so we're not going to tire as quickly using a deeper hollow. On the larger rinks you Europeans skate on, a 11mm or 13mm might be preferable for more glide and less resistance or drag.

I use and love S 11 but in Every rink because my skating feels best with them. Just on very bad ice i switch to older blunt blades because that works better for me.

Good vid. I'm a relative beginner, have been skating for a year, but I would disagree with what you said about using rentals if you don't skate often. My daughter and I bought our own skates fairly early on last year and they make a huge difference compared to rentals. Yesterday we were out without our skates and she used rentals. It's the end of the christmas season in the local 'pop-up' rink and the blades were chipped and worn. She looked like she had lost 6 months of her skill and confidence. She said that was how it felt. Back on our own skates today and she has vowed to never hire skates again! And we only have the cheap Oxalo skates from Decathlon, but for £50 I'd recommend them even if you don't skate a lot. If you've only ever had rentals, you'll enjoy your skating more and it will be easier.

A lot of content about rentals is planned for next season - interesting topic with many opinions😁

@@AlpineIceFreestyle And just to add, today I overheard a kid of about 9 or 10 who had to come off the ice saying it was because "my feet hurt so much" in rentals.

Hey bro you have video explaining the T blade sizes and sharpening..?
Hey does anyone here know which t blade size and cut is the sharpest? I ordered and tested 11mm medium and it had know grip on the ice. Any thoughts?
@AlpineIceFreestyle3 жыл бұрын
S 9 are the sharpest and most agressive blades you can get at the moment. Btw what does ,,know grip" mean?
@JediFarce3 жыл бұрын
You might mean the deepest hollow which would be the 9mm. The rocker sizes ranges from Short, Medium and Long. Usually most skaters here prefer 9mm, the rocker size is dependent on the skill and style of the skater.

Hi, I have a little problem with choosing size of skates. Some people say it should be 1-1,5 size lower than shoe size but I think it's not a good method. Second method is to measure foot length and width and then buy skate with let's say 3-5mm room for sock. What do you think and what experience do you have? I wear 45 EU in all of my shoes, so should I go 45 in skates since that matches my foot length or should i go let's say 44-44,5 because skate needs to be tight? I'll probably go to my local store anyway and check my size, but they don't have all sizes at their store and they also have no CCM skates at all but i guess CCM fits pretty similiar to Bauer
@zatro2916 Жыл бұрын
And I forgot to mention that my feet measures 28,3cm with my skating sock and width wil be regular
@AlpineIceFreestyle Жыл бұрын
Second method or shoesize. Definitely not smaller🤦♂️ who says something that stupid??? But if you have a skateshop, go there, find out your size and then ask them to order your skate of choice😉

@@AlpineIceFreestyle ok, thanks a lot, maybe if I’m lucky enough they will have that fancy Bauer foot scanner which will make it even easier.

Achso das sind die Unterschiede in der aufstandsfläche S,M,L und der hohlradius 9-21. Ja man merkt die Unterschiede und muss den richtigen für sich finden, das klappt nur mit schätzen und ausprobieren. @@AlpineIceFreestyle it depends, putting aside conventional thought a lot of skaters advocate a 1/2 size smaller - which I dont do either - I bought a Mission skate and found it was 1 size smaller than a Bauer. Ccm, Bauer, and Graf all had comparable sizes.
