Good video! Although I wouldn’t recommend removing the backs as they help keep the cabinet square. If you have power or pipes, it’s best to cut them in 👍

Tip for you: put cling wrap or cheap baking paper on the top of your wall cabinets. The cupboard tops collect dust laden grease on top and cleaning that is not fun.

Hi mate good video. I can’t really tell from the vid but just make sure you can get the boiler casing off. Looks like you have a Worcester there should be 2 screws at top and 2 underneath at the front then the front and sides of the boiler slides forward in 1 piece. It will need to come off for servicing and any issues that need repairing..
@MattHutton5 жыл бұрын
Hi Daniel thanks for the message :) yes it’s a Worcester Bosch 25i combi boiler. The casing does come off :)

You’ve just saved me money mate, I’m doing my kitchen now bit by bit as we’re moving it to another room and was going to get the corner unit, however my dish washer is going in one of the spaces and didn’t even think that I don’t need the extra cabinet that they included, I’ll make sure they remove it from the quote, thanks ;)

Interestingly IKEA seem to have stopped doing this (purchased last month). Ironically I scratched my head for days about the "missing" dishwasher cabinet before realising they just pop an extra filler panel in instead

Also one thing I noticed, they add a lot of extras you might not need initially, like lighting and stereo installation kits, extra knobs even tho I clicked remove all option, there was quite a few still thee counting on the meterial list...the software is not perfect of course, and so look carefully at your list, my plan was in 2000 euros already and went down about to 1800 euros just cuz I took down all of these that are added by default or the software didn't assumed. always check your material list

Hi Matt, I noticed you have installed your hob on top of an oven and another cabinet. I had no idea this was even possible! Could you share a bit more info about this, I would find that extremely helpful since I'm currently designing my own IKEA kitchen and the big hob and small oven combination is driving me nuts! Thanks a lot :)
@MattHutton4 жыл бұрын
What would you like to know? You just install the oven inside the oven cabinet that ikea give you and then when you put the worktop over the top, you cut out the hole for the hob. You can put the hob where ever you want as long as it reaches the cocker connection unit so you can hook it up to the power
@ElineSchuurmans4 жыл бұрын
@@MattHutton thank you so much! I thought that was impossible, since IKEA only shows hobs above ovens that are the same size. But from what I understand now, the bit of wood between the oven-cupboard and the regular cupboard is not an issue when you install the hob?
@MattHutton4 жыл бұрын
Eline Schuurmans ahh I see what you you mean. It does interfere slightly if you put the hob in top but you can just market out what you need to cut away and remove it . I think I only needed to cut away 20mm depth and 300 mm in length.
@Roman.Visuals4 жыл бұрын
Actually in the instruction leaflet that comes with ikea hob cabinet, there is this option to install between 2 cabinets and it shows the dimensions. If you don't have it in UK website, it's available in PT website ;)
@gavster_9993 жыл бұрын
@@ElineSchuurmans One thing to bear in mind is that many IKEA worktops are 38mm deep. Meantime the IKEA gas hob I just got, is only 40mm deep itself. So it barely even intrudes into the cabinet underneath (if that makes sense?)

Hi Matt, great vid. I really want to purchase ikea kitchen but I do not want the integrated cooker. Is this possible in the UK ? I would like a freestanding large gas cooker but all images have that integrated hob. Any advice greatly appreciated!

If you want a free standing hob, you just don’t put a unit there and end the worktop on both sides of the cooker.

What about IKEA sinks? Is their plumbing compatible with UK sizes?
@signaturerenovationslondonltd2 жыл бұрын
Boiler cabinet needs to have access points to the flu inspection lugs and you have to be able to get the front of it. Very smart though to have it in a corner cabinet.

Hi Matt. Appreciate this a year old now, but just wondering how much space you have for water / waste pipes. Do I need to chase these into wall or is there a gap to slip everything behind sink/DW/WM? Thanks!
@MattHutton3 жыл бұрын
There isn’t enough space if you want to thread your waste behind the cabinets. You’ll have to bring them forwards slightly and mount the cabinets to a 50mm or more piece of wood on the wall :)
@darinakalinova2180 Жыл бұрын
The backs are not for decorative purposes. You nail those in and they keep the cupboards squared. That is important structural part.
@mademoiselledusfonctionell1609 Жыл бұрын
It's so strange. Both having a boiler in the kitchen (most houses have the boiler close to or even within the central heating unit - the oil burner if oil heated, the wood burner if wood/pellet heated and the heat pump if ground source heat pump heated). Having the washing machine in the kitchen is equally strange. That definitely goes in the bathroom.

Hi matt. I’m in almost it in the exact same situation with my kitchen, looks a very similar layout. I noticed your integrated fridge and freezer are the end of the run of units. What is the counter resting on? It’s not resting directly on to the top of the fridge unit? There seems to be an end panel, but what is the work top attached to?! .IKEA haven’t supplied me anything to finish the end run of units. I don’t get it! Did you have to make your own custom frame? Any help would be amazing!
@MattHutton4 жыл бұрын
Radek Wojcik hey, yes I made my own custom frame out of 4 by 2 wood or 100mm by 50mm Wood and made my own end panel to match my the doors that I also made. I’m pretty sure IKEA will sell end panels. If not similar board material that you can cut to size for your end panel if you call them up and ask. :)
