I know it sounds silly, but if you read books on manners and social skills, it really helps. I highly recommend anything by Judith Martin (she's got a sense of humor). In and among instructions about excusing yourself from events or sending thank-you notes, there is practical, helpful advice for really awkward social situations.

I have acne,uneven teeth, and low income. I am not the tallest or the best looking person, but I have my confidence and sense of fashion; confidence helped me in my social life and women. Life is to short to be shy. Seize the moment and just go for the girl you want. The worst she can say is no, then you can move on.

son dong how did you stop being shy?
@sonnydong37267 жыл бұрын
HeedAndSucceed hope you are doing well. One of the thing that helps me to overcome my shyness is to understand that no matter what a person does or how much they change, life will basically stay the same, like "haters will always hate". With that mentality, I just approach life by being myself. Another aspect is that you are unique, even though you might think you're boring, but in reality you are not. Share who you are with someone. Some will walk away some will stay, those who does stay are the ones worth keeping.

Being 17, I've been shy almost all my life and life sucked. Plus, as I was getting older (middle-high school), I was extremely lonely and also extremely insecure about my body. I had terrible teeth that I needed braces (and it's extremely worth it, still have them on), I have gyno (moobs) and still do (not as bad since my testosterone has grown due to puberty and working out), and my whole body was out of shape (very skinny fat and worked out to fix it and still a lot more room for improvement). I had to first battle my insecurities and as well as embracing them for the time being. However, what made me break out of my bubble was just being more open. No one else can do it for you. Of course, one has to have some confidence in themself first as the foundation of breaking out of that damn bubble, but just being more open is what sets everything apart. As I reached junior year of high school, as much as I didn't want to talk, I realized that I need to change and that there's no other option. I did this by just gathering with people I'm comfortable with and cracked a joke (and it has to be funny and not out of place or else you've just fucked up). The crazy thing is that just like what Alpha said, now those people started talking to me more often and now those 3 guys are my friends. As the year progressed, I created social media accounts (don't really talk to anyone that much there since I'm a born introvert), especially since almost everyone st school had Snapchat and I was one of the only few people without one. I've also talk to way more people and rarely feel like an introvert anymore. Of course I'm still fairly anti-social and an introvert since I need some "me time" and don't really party, but all that has changed in the past year ultimately change my life for the better. To anyone out there, don't wait like how many people, such as myself, did for some "miracle" to happen, or that someone can make you not shy. Only YOU can change that and the sooner, the better. I call myself lucky since I've realized that I needed to change pretty early in my life, and as one gets older, the more stubborn people become. Being shy sucks ass since you aren't living life to the fullest. I do wish I wish that I lived my high school years to the fullest because I did miss out on so many opportunities just for being shy, but now I'm looking foward to college and upcoming years. What's a better time to break the bubble than now?

I find that I'm chronically shy in quite a few situations, and you're right, I'm very aware of it when it happens. To this end, I've booked myself a trip to new york for a month next year to complete take myself out of my comfort zone and drop myself into a place where I know absolutely no-one and can hopefully be myself and help to beat a lot of my own personal insecurities. I feel like more people need a person like you Aaron in their lives. As much as society is moving towards more emotional connectivity, especially in men, most men simply don't have a figure they can go to when they need a pep-talk or advice on fashion/lifestyle. Certainly not parents, even if they in their mind wanted to give advice and help on these kind of subjects, it's still a very male thing to not show emotions and such as though it's a weakness.

Another trick "Never took yourself too seriously. Learn to loosen up." Smile and be funny, make smart observations and conversation, that tends to help. If you are too focused in yourself and in the situation that produces the shyness, that feeds the problem and you start sweating and possibly entering in a paranoia state "what I'm doing here? I want to go home. etc" is important to fight that. And I know, what I talking about, because I used to be more shy, than I used to be.

MrViperBG there isn't really a CURE. Just ignore it, if your confident without it then keep talking and being confident. People may notice it but if your talking confident it will just seem to be a phenomenon. And if someone points it out then just say something like "oh yah, I blush when even I talk to myself" as a joke to make light of it. Just change your reaction to you blushing. Embrace it. I've never been shy, but I always was girl shy. They always thought I was attractive, and charming, but for some reason I always kept myself in the "friend zone". When I finally decided to deal with it, I joined about 5 dating sites, and just dove in. It was amazing! I came to realize that all kinds of women were attracted to me, and I could date just about anyone I wanted to!

I've always been a shy girl. As I'm getting older, I'm starting to realise it may have something to do with an emotionally troubled childhood. I stumbled across your channel while googling 'how to be assertive'. And oh boy, I've been watching all your related videos for the last hour. Thank you. ❤

There’s a thing that works for me. What I do is when I’m in a situation where I have a choice and I’m tempted to make the most comfortable decisions, I do the oposit. If you want to approach a stranger but you’re scared af, you have the choice of staying in your comfort zone or you can just...do it. Always make the choice you’re scared to make.

I wish i could love reacc your videos lmao , man i'mma be honest with you i haven't had a strong manly figure in my life who could teach me stuff and i was raised up a shy kid and had many concern about whether some things were right or wrong but you Alpha , YOU have literally taught me a LOT OF STUFF and i've been watching your videos for as long as i remember using youtube . There's something about your channel that i know even if you may have sponsor stuff in your videos you're honest to the point and your help has helped me so much that i can't describe in words , most of all you take care of telling about your past and how poorly you've been raised , many of us are going through the same hell right now which once you went through and its so amazing to know that a successful and helpful guy like you was once in our shoes and your honesty about it makes my day better , kinda makes me glad that there are good people like you and that i found your channel when i needed to , Peace alpha.

People tend to change towards you or avoid you becoz you are confident of yourself and the way you talk people they say you are rude so you don't freely express yourself and you are not rude is just them they are just trying to pull you down .You are trying to figure out who you are .I learnt you should be number 1 in your life because life is too short to care what other people think of you e.g Family, friends etc
