@@annie_xo the problem is how many of those reviews are paid for, bots, or sponsored. For the price, you're way better off getting Anker headphones. Raycons are mediocre in pretty much every aspect. As someone who works with electricity a lot, and who would have known exactly what to do in that situation, it pains me to hear the story about the kid and the fuse box. I wish more people knew about the dangers of electricity, and how to properly deal with it, especially since it’s in almost every household.

@@John-uy4jx in this case, people didn’t have the foresight to do all this, so what you need to do is take a few steps back and run full force at the victim, depending on how athletic you are, I’d recommend jumping and kicking them with your shoes. But I can definitely understand how their minds would be playing the scenarios in which they call the police and always end up getting busted for being high and trespassing. Despite this, I like to think that I would have taken the risk of getting arrested, if it meant potentially saving an innocent life. But I guess it really depends from person to person.

On 23rd of November when there was the latest big attack on Ukraine, our town was totally cut off the grid for the first time. Absolute blackout. No internet, weak cell signal. I’m sure if it had happened somewhen in February when the war just started, we would be scared as hell without knowing what was going on around us. But when you live for like almost a year under a constant threat of bombing, you’ll get better at pulling yourself together. I was preparing to survive for a longer period of time without electricity. But then, just in a few hours our energy engineers did somewhat impossible and power was restored, even for a short period. The most important thing I understood for all this time is this: the darkness is not that scary, when you know you’re on the side of light.

Oh boy, I’m looking forward to this one. Blackout stories?! There is quite literally nothing scarier than when you’re not as alone as you thought you were in complete and utter darkness. Not on the subject of blackouts, but I had an extremely terrifying thing happen to me as a child, I was probably 11 when this happened. I grew up in a town in the Rocky’s west of Denver, Colorado. My family set up our tent outside the house for a night to air out before we went camping with it. I asked my mom if I could sleep in it for the night as any kid would, like a mini camping trip in your yard lol. Well, about an hour after I went in the tent and was just laying down pondering about when I mean all of a sudden my tent is being circled by distinctively 3 “things” I had no idea what it was. I laid there seriously shaken up, my mind was RACING, I didn’t make a sound. I just laid there and listened to three and I say three because it lasted for roughly 30-45 seconds and the fact that the tent was small and they were that close I could hear them pass my head as they one by one by one ran a circle around my tent. They were running very fast around me, and that’s when I started to think okay this cannot be people messing with me because of speed they were circling me. And all of a sudden it sounded like a ball of fury hauled ass down the mountain as I heard bunches of legs snap sticks as they left. I honestly to this day don’t know how I fell asleep that night, but I did, and when I woke up I came out of the tent like dude what the actual heck (I was 11) was that last night, my neighbors from up the road were walking their dog and saw me and said I quote “hey did ya see the momma bear and her cubs last night?” All I did was say “no but they ran around my tent last night as I nervously laughed still scarred from the fact that I know now it was bear cubs and you know that momma bear was near. If I had brought ANY food I was a dead man. If I tried to run back to my house I was a dead man. I got really really lucky that night. Anyway thanks for reading (if you did lol) my nightmarish story:)

I am terrified of bears so of course it's great to live in east TN now. On one trip to the mountains my dad had been messing with my mom and me and the rest of our close family. He said he would put bologna on our windows at night ect. So one night of our trip while a bunch of us were in the hot tub my dad said we all looked like people soup. We laugh and continue talking. So when he got quiet and told us to get out we just laughed. He then yelled at us to get out! We got inside a mere few seconds before a mama bear and her cubs got to us! They absolutely destroyed the tub and it's cover. This was the beginning of spring too when bears are hungry and just have had cubs. Scary!!!

The story with the kid and the overbearing parents is kinda...ironic. On one side he's complaining how overprotected his parents were, seeing danger behind every corner. Yet on the other side he preaches that you are never fully safe and always have to keep your guard up. so...what exactly is the moral of the story? Overprotected parents create paranoid kids?

@@biadefaturiyele8600 I mean, they did go to extremes. A 15 year old doesn't need a babysitter to stay home alone for a few hours, his mother was clearly way too paranoid. And the home invasion happened because he opened the door for a stranger, not because he was left home alone. Sheltering kids all their life only leads to them being oblivious to obvious signs of danger, which ironically endangeres them even more and grounds the parents in thinking they need to protect them forever.
@biadefaturiyele8600

@@v_doll I believe the mum had every reason to be paranoid he must have not shown enough maturity to be left a lone which was clinched in their minds when he advertently let the stranger in by opening the door. Every child know not to do that but since he believed he was grown up enough he did. He wasn't home schooled , he hung out with his friends , he watched tv so he knew the risks he just didn't think they applied to him. No parent would want to come back home and meet flashing police lights on the premises. The shock was enough to regress the mum!!!
@v_doll
@v_doll Жыл бұрын
@@biadefaturiyele8600 Um... If the shock was enough to regress the mom then what about the kid? His mom seemed more terrified than he was even after going through an experience like that. Again, no healthy 15 year old needs a babysitter for a few HOURS of being home alone and I have no idea what the mom thought to be accomplishing by never letting him be home alone afterwards, even after he got a job. All it did was destroyed their relationship. Kids ARE going to make mistakes but his parents refused to let him learn from his and instead only sheltered him even more. He even said he regretted calling the cops when his mother arrived and started screaming and that's very telling to me. In a few years she'll be wondering why she doesn't have any contact with him

Power outages suck, but if you're prepared they're not a big deal. Keep some food, flashlights, batteries, and plenty of seasoned firewood handy and you'll be fine. My first year living on my own I lost power for 5 days in the middle of winter. There was about 18" of snow outside, so there was no leaving the house. It was between 0-10 degrees the entire time, but keeping a hot fire in the living room and knowing how air circulation works is a life saver... People often get mocked for being overly prepared, but nobody is laughing when they're the ones freezing.

Power outages are my favorite "disaster". I have candles and lamps and indoor-safe gas heaters and a stockpile of comfort food! Plus a fully charged Kindle and backup power for my phone lol. They are just excuses to spend quiet time with my pets on the couch. :P I was in middle school when the blizzard of '93 hit here in WV and after spending daylight hours helping my dad dig out and check on elderly neighbors we spent nighttime hours under blankets and making popcorn on the gas stove top. My dad always taught preparedness in his OCD way. :P

That first story reminds me of when my mom and I, (the oldest of 5 children) were living on our own. We had lived in tiny shoe box apartments where the 2 little children slept on pallets on the floor, and my sister and I slept in one full size bed. We finally got a big apartment in one of those big old houses in a big city everyone knows the name of. The house used to be big and beautiful , but now what was once part of a thriving downtown city scape became low income slums with winos on the corner and a soup kitchen across the street. There were so many crazy things that happened down there. But at least we all had a bed there and the place was big enough for the kids to run and play in the house like kids should. My sister and I both worked, to help her make ends meet. You don't hear many stories like that in families now a days. I hope he came out in a good place as we all did.

Story 4 about the kid with the overbearing, helicopter parents - I'm seeing more than a few comments blaming a child for an event that was wholeheartedly out of his control. Sure, he opened the door to a stranger, not a good choice. Stranger danger and all that. That isn't the reason his parents were over bearing. And when I 1st heard the story, it sounds like the event of the night in question may have been manufactured by said overbearing parents. Some of these other comments keep calling his parents overprotective, so if that was the case, he would have been better prepared for staying home alone for the first time.

Thank you!! So many people here don't seem to understand how a child's brain develops and how you learn risk assessment. 👋👋👋 I've been listening to your stories for a couple years now but decided to go back to the EARLY stuff, like 7 years ago and check those out too, I was super (pleasantly) suprised that you have a couple psalms readings and just wanted to let you know that I thought you did a great job with those and wondered if you'd ever do any thing like that again in the future or if that's not something you're ever planning on revisiting. Either way, love your videos!!! Thank you!!!

While it was technically the kid's fault for opening the door to give the man a towel, he handled the situation well. His parents should calm down and back tf off or they're going to lose him for real when he decides to stop speaking to them! I'm a mother of four, so I understand the innate drive and need to keep my children safe. But I can't always be there and they have to learn to take care of themselves. After all, perhaps someday they'll be the parents and it'll be their job to keep their own children safe. If I don't teach them and instead hover incessantly, I'm not only hurting them, but also possibly their children and their children's children, etc.

The only time that I recall a blackout happening was going to be lived in Texas it was winter time it was so cold everybody had to sleep in the living room around the fireplace like... Boil water to wash butt for school ... I think it was snowing/hailing as well... In a way it was fun but it was so cold. I was sitting on the steps of the fireplace 😂😂😂 like I was almost in the fireplace 😭😭😭😭😭
