Exactly! Once we were long distance, 9 hours away, I felt something off from her while meet up sometime to hang out stay her place for couple weeks once while, I was not happy and not see something out of her I was expected, she's too clingy, too needy and not independent, no job, no car. So when I left her place, till I arrived home, few days later on texting I told her this not going work, going to break up you and just be friend, she just lost her mind, disliked break up and rage on me plus posted on social media, and texted me demand to give my vehicle & some stuffs. I replied back, laughing, worked & earn for it before I met you. Not giving away to you for free, get a job to work for it. Good bye. (Blocked)

People like the one in the first story really piss me off when they don't press charges or do something to try and help get bad people off the streets. I guarantee you that the next person wasn't so lucky. They could've been saved from whatever those bad people had planned for his gullible naïve self.
@theclownsystem94292 жыл бұрын

With story 1 "understanding and empathetic"...people need to be more honest when describing their gullible and naive attitudes. People with bad intentions prey on people like the narrator. We don't want to assume the worst in people but assuming everyone is harmless can get you killed. And no one with good intentions ever comes creeping out the woods in the dark conveniently after your tire blows out. He's hella lucky the cop came when he did. Thank God my partner isn't that ignorant. Story 4: That husband was terrible and just as naive as the narrator in the first story. Between lying to his wife and falling for that old woman's trick (if anyone comes to your house at night claiming to need help and then tells you NOT to call the police, it's a trap) he endangered the hell out of both of them.

I felt disgust when they said that. I'm empathetic, but I'm neither naïve nor a fool. There is a HUGE difference, and people like that are those who end up not pressing charges against a criminal, keeping their record clean so they can do the same or worse to someone else later, eventually getting a lighter sentence because they "have no prior record." People confuse naivete and foolishness with understanding and empathy the way they confuse caution with paranoia.

Yeah. I get not wanting to be so pessimistic that you think everyone is an evil monster out to get you (that's no good for your mental health) but assuming that everyone is good deep down and can be won over with a little kindness will 100% be taken advantage of (and definitely does not bode well for one's physical health.) This may just be a coincidence but I've also noticed that the majority of people who think this way (that I have come across online or otherwise) tend to be young men. Older men have enough experience to know better and with the huge prevalence of sexual assault and harassment against women I don't see how anyone of the female sex could remained lulled into such a rosey world view after hitting their teens.

Story 4. About a year ago my bf was working night shift and already left for work. I've heard a knock on my door. I looked out the window and saw an older (maybe in his 70s) guy, he shouted that he has got our parcel. At the time we only just moved in to the house so it wasn't unusual that we got lots of different parcels each day. I opened the door slightly, leaving my foot on it just in case. I told him to just leave it at the doorstep. Suddenly he was like 'oh silly me, it's not for you, I must have read the numbers wrong.' I was like 'Okay, no worries' while closing the door. He quickly picked up with 'Was it you who helped me out from the bushes the other day?' while maintaining this creepy smile. 'Erm, no it wasn't me' I said, while starting to feel uncomfortable. 'Are you sure?' he followed while looking at me. I just quickly said 'Yeah I'm sure, thanks bye' while closing the door and quickly locking it up. For the next few hours I was walking from one window to another everytime I've heard a noise outside. Nothing really happened, thank god but I was extremely creeped out by the whole situation. He might have just been a sweet older neighbour, but yeah it still doesn't sit well with me.

I had never reported the abuse but it was a dirty secret that everyone knew. I have fibromyalgia and am on pain medication. My ex accused me of being an addict. I almost lost my job (I made substantially more than him), my kids and was forced to go to NA meetings until our divorce was over. Acquaintances believed him and rumors were spread across our small town. I lost everything and left with $15 and my kids. 4 years later, I am remarried and thriving despite a terrible ordeal. Typical for the police to always just believe the woman without asking any questions or having any evidence . I'd definitely sue her and the police department. Glad he got away.
